    I live in Winnipeg Manitoba I have my class 1 and my air endorsement and I can say 100% you explained air brakes very well. It seems hard at first but once u do it a bunch of times it becomes easier and easier. And even adding a trailer brake valve doesn't really make much of a difference. It's pretty much the same process. So if anyone is sceptical of air brakes and this guys knowledge just know that he's the real deal.

    Thanks Andrew. This is a very thorough and helpful video. When you take the air brakes test, though, is it standard practice for examiners to let you explain your actions from start to finish, as you did; or might some examiners, depending on state or province, take the approach of them asking and you responding and demonstrating?

    • @andrewmeffe2083
      @andrewmeffe2083  Год назад

      I am not entirely sure. When I did my test, I was expected to do as I did in the video; to show/explain everything. However, on the Schedule 1 portion, they will ask you questions about particular parts of the truck and you'll have your sheet to respond.

    • @MrDCSniping
      @MrDCSniping Месяц назад

      You can either do combo courses, or what I did was Z first by itself to make a GZ license, then did a A restricted course or you could do a D course, the Ar to give me ArZ which covers DZ and is done in a pickup with trailer instead of large truck and airbrakes being part of the roadtest

  • @Cosmo-mn9lk
    @Cosmo-mn9lk 2 месяца назад +1

    Great video, just passed my test today. Just remember that the slow pressure air build up is a minor defect not major.
    Also remember to state that if you have an defects that you would 1. Report it to your employer 2. Write it in your daily log book 3. Continue driving (minor) Remove the truck from the road (major)

    Hi, Thank you for sharing this video. If you are okay, May I ask about DZ driver's license? My friend got DZ driver's license fr.Ontario. But His number of driver's license is not match with his first letter of last name and last six digit of birthday. What I know it should be matched with those. Is there any cases it could be difference or unmatched with first letter of last name and date of birth for last six digit? Or is it fake ID?? Thank you for reading my question.

      Hey brother, to be totally honest, I'm not 100% sure. In my experience, the same number on my license has carried over from the day I received my G1. You'd be best off asking your buddy or calling the MTO (Ministry of Transportation).

    Lol most hyw trucks don't have tire chalks and I bet when there is a fire you don't do that every time. Seeming most fire halls have there trucks air tank plugged into an exsillery air supply . Lol but good job instructor.

    • @andrewmeffe2083

      Totally agree with you on that one, however, on your air brake TEST, your evaluator will only pick one one to measure.

    • @ShivREdits
      @ShivREdits Год назад +12

      it's a demonstration video, no need to check all for a demonstration, and you need to be certified to adjust brakes

    • @soliderfire
      @soliderfire 9 месяцев назад +1

      You need to be certified to do brakes adjustment in Ontario !

    • @devious00
      @devious00 7 месяцев назад

      Most trucks have automatic slack adjusters, and to work on either form of slack adjuster you need to be certified. The road test instructor just wants to see you know how to check them and know the allowable travel limit on the system on your truck.

    When you do air pressure build up you need to pull out the red button and when you do the governor cut in you suppose to push the trialer break bakc in , what a ridiculous video

    • @andrewmeffe2083
      @andrewmeffe2083  11 месяцев назад +1

      If by “red button”, you mean trailer brakes, this truck didn’t have them. There’s various orders you can test your brakes in. In my video, I only released my spring brakes at the begging and engaged them when I did the spring brake tug test; this reduces unnecessary air loss. My wheels were chocked so it was perfectly safe having them released during my air build up and governor cut in

      @@danmclean9784the brakes were NOT engaged. The rear wheel was chocked and I was on flat ground so it was safe for me to exit the truck to measure
