In this video, I will review the new Omega watch I bought. This is the OMEGA Seamaster Railmaster Co‑Axial Master Chronometer 40mm.
I tried a Railmaster model about a year ago or so. I liked it. But at that time I got my Tudors and wasn’t looking to buy another watch. But… for some reason, this Railmaster was stuck in my head. So several weeks ago I gave up and bought the OMEGA Railmaster Co‑Axial Master Chronometer 40 mm. The reference number is 220.10.40.20.06.001.
Among watches that were designed with engineers in mind with the capability to withstand high magnetic field environments are obviously notable models like IWC Ingenieur and Rolex Milgauss. Probably the most popular watches that were made specifically for railroad workers are Ball Trainmaster and Omega Railmaster.
In 2017 Omega introduced its new Railmaster model with the 8806 Movement as part of its Heritage Collection. The antimagnetic capability of the watch was impressive. It can withstand up to 15000 gausses.

It’s a great watch, accurate, robust and is also ‘invisible’, ideal to wear when there are thieves about. I bought mine when I was working on a metro rail project and exposure of my Railmaster and Milgauss watches to scientific equipment has proven they both work after exposure to more than 15,000 gauss. A train underneath the water? Haven’t you been on the Eurotunnel. Be well and peace be with you.
Yes the watch is really stealthy on the wrist. Doesn't draw too much attention to itself. The other colour variants stand out more.
Wow, your story with this watch sounds just like my own. I have yet to pull the trigger but am really drawn to that silver dial version. Thanks!
I have the exact same watch on the bracelet. It replaced my outgoing 214270 Rolex Explorer and it’s a much better watch in every aspect. Quite an upgrade and pretty happy with it. It’s truly a go anywhere, do anything watch thanks to high resistance to magnetism and 150 meters of water resistance. Not to mention the calibre 8806 is a master cronometer with specs of 0 to +5 secs. a day. Mine has been running well within the specifications.
Thanks for the feedback. I enjoy my watch very much. I like that they go well on the bracelet and different straps. A perfect everyday watch for me.
2:02 i am literally imagining train under the water 🤣, nice review !!
Thanks 😊
Very nice..., looking forward to a more detailed review...
Thanks Giovanni! Stay tuned :)
Great review. Would you tell me about your leather straps? Where can I get the same one?
It is Classic Suede Strap from StrapCo amzn.to/3Wlz65R
And maybe the best daily watch too❤
I would agree.
Great review!
Nice review. Similar size wrist and have been thinking about this one. May I ask you what is the mm diameter of the crystal/dial?
Thanks Jim. I measured the crystal at 34mm and the dial is about 30mm.
@@OneManReviews Thank you!! so with the short lugs, maybe not unreasonable for my 16 cm wrist...
@@JimLecinski I would suggest trying it before. But I think it should be fine. The lug-to-lug is actually a bit less compared to my BB58 which makes this Omega very comfortable on the wrist.
Beautiful watch.
Thanks, Darren.
Where did you get that rugged strap 😳
If you are talking about the yellow suede one it is from StrapsCo.
It's a beautiful strap that works really well with the watch
I have the black on the NTTD nato
That's a great combo!
The dial looks so flat, so 2D. Would be a world of difference if they had the numerals applied instead of printed.
Yes, I agree that the watch dial looks very simple and flat. At the same time, the watch appears differently in different lights and angles.
@@OneManReviews I feel for the price luxury watch brands are charging us, they should always make the markers/indices/numerals applied (at the very least). Such a pity, I like the technical specs of the railmaster but the printed numerals and indices just puts me off.
@@dd-dd2co I agree that there are certain expectations with luxury watches. But also there are many much more expensive watches with painted markers or numerals. Take Classic Reverso for example. If you like the technical specs of the Railmaster take a look at the same model but with a blue or black dial. They are more prominent.
@@OneManReviews Which is why I've never taken to any pieces that have printed markers/numerals. The denim dial does give it a little more character but still looks really flat.
@@dd-dd2co Indexes are not painted but filled in. I'd say that you have to see this watch in real life : it's much better looking in person.
Votre montre connectée, faut la jeter dans la poubelle !
Lol.
