I'm a hobby grower , just love the plant , it's beautiful. I don't smoke much anymore, but it's fun to give friends a bud every now and then.
As a professional in the cannabis extraction industry, I have to say that I'm glad this video pushes to stop the misused terms "sativa" "indica" and "strain", and focus more on chemovar type and chemical makeup. Sativa/Indica are outdated terms originally used to describe physical growth characteristics and have very little to nothing to do with effects, which are modulated by the varying ratios of chemical compounds in the plant. This is the basis for the "Entourage Effect", and it has nothing to do with old-school sativa/indica designations. 95%+ of varieties in the current market are muddled hybrids.

Still all boils down to there ARE two types of weed, but they aren't sativa and indica, they are "good weed" and "shitty weed". I shop by the GROWER column, not the strain or type columns, nor the "thc %" column. Good growers get good results. Bad growers can't find their asses with both hands.

@@technodrone313 If we blind taste tested you, you wouldn't be able to identify indica/sativa of random strains. We could also fool you giving you 15 different "northern lights" from different growers and laugh at the different names you'd give to the same strain. . . since they turned out so different.

I think it all depends on YOU. Your endocannabinoid system may like certain cultivars that mine do not pr visa versa. Everyone reacts in their own way.
I miss the cheap, $15 per ounce Mexican sativa we had in the mid 1970s. When all that expensive, purple buds from California or Hawaii became the norm, it merely put me to sleep.
All you gotta do is buy the strain “methanmpehatmine og” 3 ounces per plant it’s a sativa and if you grow it shittily maybe you’ll get what you had oh and 15$ for a seed pack
how about cannabis ruderalis? can you do one on ruderalis and the lagely unknown cannabinoids and the endo-cannabinoid system
Being a grower I would say I like it all! There a time and place for sativa’s, Indica’s and hybrids!
99% of all weed is hybrid

Used my corn knife to chop down the loot.
I hung it up to dry where it couldn’t be found.
Came back and got it, when it had turned brown.
I trimmed off the buds, stuffed them in bags
Called all my friends and passed out free drags.
In less than a week my crop was gone
I flew to St. Thomas with a love hungry blonde!!

Hi there, piece of advise to everyone consuming canabbis. Dont make it a habit, use it as you would use alcohol( if you are not an alcoholic). Weed is cool it first but if you do it long and often enough you will saturate your endocanabinoid system and it will no longer be so cool. Only because its natural doesnt mean we should abuse it, also theres nothing natural about these high thc strains inducing psicosis, i would recomended a balanced thc cbd strain and always in moderation. I love the plant,most is crossed now,a percentage of either,it's good to try & keep some big sativa,s aside,in Australia we,ve some old land race sativas still.both hemp & sativas were brought here in the 1800,s,the "skunk" has only been around a few decades,ppl here still grow the "old" stuff.have to grow a few indicas to get a fair pick,where as sativa only need to grow a few.
In GB CBD is still classified as a class A or B drug.

Honestly I prefer a good 50/50 hybrid or as close to a 50/50 hybrid as possible, they tend to have the best effects in my experience.
"Strain" is the slang term for those chemovars, but due to simplicity, many relaxed growers will still just keep saying strain within their circle.
More technical = most professional = too commercial
. . . which varies quite a bit even within the same children of one plant. Thus you need to shop by the GROWER column.

If you can get brick weed from Mexico and find some decent beans. They come out smelling like grapefruit and sativa. But finish fairly fast. 9 weekish. Yea it's mids but if u grow the seeds properly some can be dank. Look for that grapefruit from Mexican brick weed. Trust me

glues have always been known to be heady and energetic. that's why most dispensaries will list it as a sativa or sativa dominant hybrid regardless of the morphology of the plant.

All cannabis is the same, there are simply broad leafed and narrow leafed varieties depending where they originate geographically. Proximity to the equator and the weather relative to it are major factors in cannabis producing different chemovars. Also the intentional breeding by different people of cannabis for different properties also changes chemovars over time. As a generalization cannabis grown closer to the equator will me more mentally stimulating as opposed to those far from the equator which typically have a more physically sedating/focusing effect. As far as we can tell all cannabis originated in Asia and Africa, possibly simultaneously. It's the only plant with no close relative. Although we as humans have endo cannabinoid receptors in the brain and body, science is far from knowing all there is to know about cannabis and it's effects on us. We don't entirely understand how the chemical mechanism between cannabinoids and the human body works. Once we do perhaps we will have a better understanding of the potential of cannabis to do good or harm.

There is no such thing as indica or sativa giving different effects when ingested or smoked. They are only valid when talking about the morphology of the plant. Therefore the only one who should honestly worry about Sativa or Indica is the grower, not the smoker.

Chemovar.....ha ha ha. Such bullshit. I will continue to call them strains. The two main types are the same species, because they produce viable seeds, if crossed. They, therefore, are strains, also called varieties.
