This "Pignorant" project is epic. Other animals matter too, whether mammals or non-mammals. But when it comes to the pigs, you're the best. Please keep this up. You're doing brilliantly. 👍👍👍👍
Mr. Joseph Armstrong, are PLANTS also sentient?
@@SpiritualPsychotherapyServicesplants are not sentient as they don't have a brain or central nervous system.
It's a misconception that non vegans use saying plants are sentient , it's ingenuous and is an excuse for justifying themselves for contributing towards animal abuse and exploitation.
@@SpiritualPsychotherapyServices NO, obviously, that would be impossible, since they physically don't have the biology for it.

The only remedy is for people to go vegan....then all this horror would stop. Thanks for keeping up the pressure. Pignorant is an important film!

@@richardcardinale7152,
Aren't you going to answer why you're morally complacent?
The industry need to be made accountable for their disgusting treatment of sentient beings.
How frustrating Joey, what a nonsense response! No one would agree with that response :( We watched Pignorant on Prime the other day, it was so powerful, sad but powerful. Thank you for everything you do Brother 🌱
Half knowledge is very dangerous thing, you are seeing what is shown to you.
Veganism......nothing at all🤫
More people that love animals need to protest.. If we all stick together is more powerful.
They are hiding behind so called 'standards', when the 'standards' are a licence to commit atrocities against beautiful sentient beings. It's heartbreaking 😢
Those language animal abusers use about their "high standard" of murder is revolting.
@@asdf1991asdf I wouldn't but if I had the power I would make it so there would be 100% transparency so consumers could make an informed decision. Meat would likely naturally become illegal soon after that.
@@asdf1991asdfMost people stop going to the gym. If most people stop being vegan after a year, it doesn't mean it is because of health reasons.
@@asdf1991asdfIf you had the power to do so, would you make torturing animals illegal?
@@asdf1991asdf Dietary authorities in the UK, the US, Canada, Australia etc. all state that a balanced vegan diet is nutritionally appropriate for all stages of life.
Most consumers are compassionate people who have been indoctrinated since birth into thinking meat is normal and necessary. They have a huge disconnect from the reality of the situation. I believe the animal agriculture industry would go under pretty quickly if they were no longer able to feed people the propaganda.
@@asdf1991asdf What is your evidence to support your claim that most people cannot be healthy on a vegan diet?
Do you value scientific research and evidence? Would you take evidence-based statements from reputable dietetic associations to support your claim if they stated that most people cannot be healthy on a vegan diet?
If so, then you should be aware that all the major dietetic associations in the world, including the academy of nutrition and dietetics, the NHS, the dietitians associations of Australia, the British dietetics association, and the dieticians of Canada have all made official statements to the effect that plant-based diets are healthy and nutritionally adequate for all stages of the life cycle.

It's always the same...nothing changes. Same old corporate nonsense, they aren't talking as people, as human beings, they are talking as corporate workers, as soul-less programmed machines, literally every aspect of their existence is about profit. Sainsburys response didn't even surprise me because I could tell by her body language she wasn't going to do anything about it she just wanted to pacify you. The one thing I don't like about corporations is the lies. It is very rare you will get one that actually is transparent. When a business does something wrong to a high extent I always boycott them. And then I always end up telling others my experience so they can be better informed whether they want to go to that place of business or not. Animals deserve a life of happiness and respect. It is probably a company that has a board of directors. They would have to vote on making their business one hundred percent vegan for just a few people. Then also it could be a publicly traded company which would mean shareholders to answer to.

But because it's pigs these companies are not doing anything about it. Also it's not just a few vegans out there, there is over 1 million in UK alone and not including all the other countries. That is enough to at least say hey let's think about it and maybe we should change. It's all about propaganda for these corporations they're all greedy and they don't care who they hurt as long as they get their money. Why do you think these corporations do those commercials because they are trying to do subliminal messages to the public so they will buy their product and believe that it is good when it is not. Hi Joey,
Love your work and fully support this mission. I think you're right to ask for the tangible, achievable goal of getting supermarkets to label their products transparently so that consumers can make an informed choice. As a vegan myself of course what we all really want is for pigs to never suffer or be slaughtered in the first place, but sadly that's a much more difficult task and the first step is to raise public awareness through proper labelling which provides the added benefit of discouraging sales.
For those who may not be aware of the scientific literature on this issue, when it comes to CO2 gas being a humane stunning method... Sindhoj, Lindahl and Bark (2023) state the following:
"...several studies have shown that pigs express aversive behaviors (e.g. gasping, escaping and vocalization) when exposed to CO2 concentrations as low as 15% (Steiner et al., 2019). High CO2 concentrations are known to cause pain and distress due to respiratory irritation of mucous membranes and invoke behavioral responses that indicate hyperventilation and excitation (European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), 2004). For these reasons, EFSA (2004) concluded that CO2 stunning is not optimal from an animal welfare perspective and that further research is needed to find non-aversive gas mixture alternatives. European Food Safety Authority recently specified that exposure to CO2 at high concentrations (defined as > 80% by volume) should be replaced by exposure to other gas mixtures that are less aversive (EFSA AHAW Panel et al., 2020)."
Hence Andrew Opie and the British Retail Consortium are literally in opposition to the science on this issue.
Reference: doi.org/10.1016/j.animal.2020.100164
The bottom line, as you very well articulate in your video, is that unfortunately finding an alternative, more humane slaughter method is much more difficult and hence the bare minimum that supermarkets can do is at least be honest with their customers.
Credit to Sainsbury's for engaging, albeit with an absolutely nothing statement.
