  • These basic games are getting a little dull. They are good practice, but mere scrimmages for what's to come. We'll bang out a couple more, then move on to the wargames that are more the speed of experienced gamers like us.

Gosh those gaming materials look fresh. A lot of love must have gone into bringing that box to market. I wonder if any of the designers are still around?

To be honest, I would rather have a very grounded setting with the boring bits that allow me to have a detailed sandbox, than modern GW's "everything is XTRA COOL and big and blows up - ASK NO QUESTIONS". At this point I'm more invested in two guys being stalked by a bear than stake-less, nebulous multiverse of WoW cosplayers that stuff like AoS is peddling. What Bladestorm lacks is a short story anthology to get your noggin joggin' and translate stuff into action more easily. It's not like it lacks high-concept stuff - it's a post-apo setting with bloody swordstorms hunting down any sizable group of combatants! Bear men! Eagle warrior slavers!
It's still better than Harn - an RPG setting that's detailed like a Faberge egg, but dry like sands of Sahara.

Teluel doesn't have 3d6+10 it is 2D6+1D10 for his damage you did it right the first time but not the second, but technically he was dead the owlbear is 3d6+3 double 6's =12 + 4 = 16 - 2 = 14. Teluel's heath was 13. I don't know why you said +2 -2 after the dice roll but still cool to see how easy there rules really are to follow and learn.
