Great Megatheory. I only have four additions to make: 1. Humans are the descendants of spirits who were trapped in Thedas when the Veil was first created. The very first humans were actually a lot like Cole, before they hybridized with elves. Elven legend associates the coming of the "Shemlen" with them losing their immortality. However, they got the causality wrong: the events that made them mortal created humans. 2. The Old Gods were the favored champions of the Evanuris. Remember how in Mythal's temple, dragons were a form reserved for the Evanuris and "their chosen"? The Old Gods were the "Chosen" referred to. 3. The reason there are only seven Old Gods, when there were eight Evanuris, is that one of the "Chosen" went rogue. Mythal's Champion was none other than Fen'Harel. 4. A lot of Dwarven culture is a relic of their time as a hive mind. The caste system is based on their purpose not as individuals, but essentially cells in a Titan's body. "Casteless" Dwarves were originally dwarves who broke free of the Titans, which tended to happen when Dwarves left their titan. In other words, when Dwarves went to the surface...
Humans were around long before the veil was created. And it was 1,000 years that passed after solas created the veil. Maybe a couple hundred years more. Humans weren’t only around for 1k-1.5 years.
Your giant theory is what makes the most sense, and it connects dots so cleanly and interestingly that I'd honestly be a little sad if it wasn't true. Great lore breakdown and expert connection of the different games. This was awesome.
I've always been curious to know what the calling sounds like, and what the difference is between normal lyrium and red lyrium. I hope the game has these answers.
As ever, very insightful - putting it all together chronologically like this really helps it all to make sense. I am looking forward to Thursday, I wonder which morsels of lore will get answered.
In all of this, I gotta say; Cole the Compassion is one heck of a well connected spirit. I guess he was around during those times and that is why he could pull the 'create physical body' trick. It also might hint that the Wisdom friend of Solas might not have been a friend as much as one of his relatives?
The best video on this topic I`ve seen! Thank you so much for it !!! Wanted to add several extra thoughts: We can speculate that as Sha-Brytol are an immune system, the Blight is a virus. Therefore there was no blight inside the titan, and without them, no one could fight it with such efficiency. But it does not answer the question of why the Blight is calling to wake the Dragons. But maybe the idea of controlling elf slaves with lyrium valaslins like the Titans did with the dwarfs was alluring and Gil and Andruil started using it in such a way. Maybe all their Dragons (the chosen ones of the Evanuris on Earth) had each the heart of the defeated titan inside and that is why, same as with the dwarfs, red lyrium is making everyone obey their will. Only something went wrong, and like with the spirits duality - justise\vengenece, etc, here good Titan heart became evil. Possibly because to perform such magic blood sacrifices were necessary, so it turned red from all the sufferings.
omg this sparked some ideas running around in my head about the heart of the titans inside the dragons.........😳😳😳 I have to think this one over, but I think you might be on to something!
I think one of the things that set Solas off was that the Evanuris brought the blight (corrupted titan blood) to the Fade. And in doing so shifted the fade into the darker form of it we see today. Maybe even creating the demons
I find it ironic that elves complain about all other races and how oppressed they (elves) are, and I agree that elves are treated horribly. But at the same time look what they were doing to dwarves and even their own people. I suspect that most of elven population in the ancient times was enslaved. Their own people - powerful mages sacrificed them in droves, sounds that it might have even been on a scale worse than Tevinters. And how elves complained that it was humans that made them mortal. I will never forget how Fiona whined to Duncan in The Calling about how humans caused their mortality. Like 16 years old Duncan was responsible for it.
None of us should be punished for the sins of our ancestors, and yet we often are. It’s ironic but 99% of these elves know nothing of the truth of their ancestry. I would complain too if I were them lol
I am not saying elves should be punished. Too many events and actions contributed to their current situation. If I were to list everything, we would be debating this topic for a long time. All I am saying is that the elves aren't as innocent as they seem to think. They isolated themselves from the rest of Thedas when the blights begun, they were frequently hostile towards humans when they first encountered them. Dalish elves are frequently at each other throats and so on. And of course, their current situation is absolutely horrendous. One only needs to read Tevinter Nights to get a glimpse of a nightmarish treatment elves are subjected to.
@@lyannastark3839 I'm not attacking you, I'm making a comparison between a real life example and the elves situation. First thing: the present day elves are absolutely not the ancient elves. Solas and Abelas clearly said that. Just like Sha Brythal are not the same as current day dwarfs. They lost connection with important parts of their culture, therefore the modern ones cannot be responsible for the actions of the ancients. The examples you gave, of elves isolating themselves, being hostile to humans and denying help during the Blight are all symptoms of people being hurt and growing colder to the aggressors. They always knew that if anything happened to weaken them once again, humans would strike. So they isolated themselves, got stronger and tried to rebuild their culture. Until, of course, humans attacked again. You cannot ask for people who were marginalized for centuries to just simply get over it, when humans never got over they view of elves as sub-humans and, basically, slaves. That's why I understand Solas in a way, but don't agree with his actions.
My theories are a bit different. However, I am a supporter of the fact that everything is connected. And is closely related to each other. This world is huge, complex. But at the base there will be some mythology We have two symbols: the sun and the earth. Which of the gods has a sun symbol? The Maker. Who is associated with the earth, with what is under the earth specifically? Titan/Titans. There were two domains: what is under the earth and what is above the earth. My theory is that there are two types of Pillars of the Earth (first beings) - the first type are representatives of the material world, namely the Titans. Here one could try and add Korth the Mountain Father. And the second type - the immaterial world, the one before the creation of the Veil, in which the Void was an integral part, and magic was as natural as breathing. Here one could include the Lady of the Skies… and the Creator. The war with the Titans, of course - about Lyrium. Lyrium probably gave them bodies - something like when Leliana dies in DAO. In DAI she appears in something like Lyrium armor. Coffins like the one that created Fenris. Some gave body, others created slave’s markings. If the war with the Titans was the war after which they became Gods, what happened next? The Forgotten Ones? Creatures inhabiting the Abyss. Were they connected to the Titans? I doubt it. Are they Reptilians? More likely. Traces of their existence are also erased. We see murals from the times of Arlathan. If they came from the Abyss, and the Blight comes from there - are they immune to it? Do they carry it too? Is the red Lyrium the Lyrium of a dead Titan? Or a Blight-tainted Titan? Does this have anything to do with the codex where Mythal first defeats the Pillars of Earth and then the Deep Roads are collapsed? What is supposed to be forgotten there? Probably not red Lyrium. Because that, or the Blight, was used on purpose. (Spoiler) Ghilan'nain was playing with the Blight. I bet the Broodmothers are her doing. Are the Evanuris the Old Gods? For me, it's already confirmed. It was after I put the images of one with five with five extinguished flames and two lit ones. And the one with the symbols. It's the same pantheon. How does it work that they have their Archdemons. Traveling souls like the one in Kieran? I don't know. We'll find out. What else am I curious about? How did the Qunari come into being? Is this also the work of Ghilan'nain? Where are the Scaled Ones? Who are the Executioners?
you landed on the a lot of the same things that I have but we diverge in some interesting places. When I saw first that game play reveal I tied the Evanuris horns to their respective dragons. Mythal's is also there. It's the single horn. Sylaise's is the coolest it looks a crown of fire. Not really sure where Ghilly gets the Hala thing from. I hope they explain that lol. What I really can't wrap my head around yet is why or how they trapped giant dragons underground. Did Solas put each one of those in a separate cell before closing the veil? Or were those there even before he did what he did?
Great video, I was hoping that Morrigan and Flemeth would have a flash back conversation but with how much they have decided to leave out etc past choices I don’t think we will get one. I hope we get one of Mythal at least in ancient times ! Also Gil is clearly already blighted so wouldn’t her arch demon be blighted already also ? But they must be connected some how if not a pet but maybe a part of their souls !

I actually love all of this and it explains a LOT. Especially the Old God and Dwarf Hivemind part
yes yes yes! I love it!
Yeah, the caste system makes so much sense as a relic of their old roles. One has to wonder where the Sha-Brytol fit in all this, though.

Fantastic theory. Ties almost everything together in a nice, logical way.
I've always been curious to know what the calling sounds like, and what the difference is between normal lyrium and red lyrium. I hope the game has these answers.
Well they've already said what the difference is, red lyrium has the Blight. And as said at the time of that revelation, that means lyrium is alive.
Wow! I have seen lots of Lore videos but this one is by far the best one I've seen! Really ! Amazing job. Thank you!
Nice to showcase the ingame arguments for the theories. Good stuff!
All of this is making a lot of sense.
I was just pining for more DA videos to watch - Ty!!
What's better than getting another Dragon age game after 10 years well you making videos again the Queen is back 🙇🙌

It's the same as saying that the 7bi of humans on Earth should suffer forever just because of Trump. Is that right for you?
Nope, you are missing the point. And please don't attack me just because you disagree.
