Your videos are just what I need!!! I'm doing my research and getting ready to take the first step into engraving. I have no experience at all but you give me confidence that I can do this!!!! Thanks Matt....glad I got to see you again! 😁
Great video, as always. Thank you. Just a thought: You can also consider applying a light coat of clear lacquer before spray painting to prevent bleeding.
I was thinking the same thing. If you apply a finish before engraving that will prevent bleeding. And if you're going to apply a finish anyway (you should) this is not an extra step.
Did you try it yet? I'm not finding any other videos on if it works with a clear coat. Another option is to have the wood already finished with clear before lasering and a quick coat of clear right before spraying black. @laserengravingwithmatt7833
Hi matt can we get this in the UK? And also i can only find 100mm maskingvtape and cannot find the link for the wide stuff you use. Enjoyed your vidz buddy. Liked and subscribed too
I love your vids, i want to start something with my sculpfun s9 but im too afraid of the limitations on my budget but thats all i got, thanks for the information.
Laser dark is very expensive to use as a color fill? If I am just going to colorize my engravings I spray a matte clear down and let is dry then go back with my spray paint fill color. You don't get any wood bleeds because the matte clear seals the wood. A LOT cheaper.
I have been watching as many of your videos as I can. Where do you sell your products? How did you sell so many hats so quick? We have a Glowforge pro and can’t wait to upgrade to thunder. We make and sell patch hats, coasters, and a bunch of other items but haven’t put them up on Etsy yet.
I have been using Mountain 94 instead of Rust-Oleum. Do you know how it compares to that? I just converted my garage too! It is definitely a bigger job than one would imagine.
you really should consider the 3m xtract sandpaper, the typical sandpaper paper with the 6-8 large holes in it does not remove the sawdust as you sand. the dust just sits there and wears out the paper faster and puts lines in the wood. i have yet to meet anyone that has tried the xtract paper and not been amazed. 3M Xtract Net Disc 310W. if nothing else you could try it and make a video showing the difference.
Great Video! I've been meaning to try Laser Dark for some time now. They have another after spray that I think sets the Laser Dark. Are you using that as well?

I'm so glad!
Glad we got to see you again. Looking forward the the finished shed

No matter what paint I use, I use an initial light coat or clear coat to seal the masking tape edge’s 😎
Thanks I will have to give that a try.

Can you explain exactly how to do this? Is the lacquer applied over the tape but before the spray paint?
I really love your vibe! I'm always watching your videos, full of excitement. Thank you for all the information you are giving for free 😁
Thanks for your kind words.
I only got gray tones from spray paint. I get really black from a mix of TO2 with rubbing alcohol.
Great video! Thanks. Where did you get those boards? Nice!
Thanks we are trying a new company and if it works out we will make a video

Another great video. I'm looking forward to seeing the machines in their new workshop. Oh, did you mention another laser is on its way 🤔
Me too and yup 😄
I wonder if Laser Mark has marking spray for glass products. I want to do shot glasses, but the Cermark is Pricey...
I do not think so.
Great video.. Love your comparison to the spray paint etc.
Love your charcuterie boards.. Did you make them?
Good luck with your new shop!

Have you tried the laser dark on bamboo?

Easy way to stop bleeding is to spray the wood with a coat of clear BEFORE lasering
Thanks I will give that a try 😃
Is the Laser Dark paint a matte finish?
Yes
