Look, this Pro gives us 4K 60 fps and/or Ray Tracing in many actual AAA games and resolution / framerate improvements to a lot of old titles. It is a 2TB console, just like the Series X that's priced at $599, except it's way more powerful. This might even run GTA 6 at native 4K 60. For someone who doesn't already own a PS5, this is a great deal. The only thing that's really bugging me is that you have to buy the disk drive for another $80.
Something no-one seems to be picking up on is that want 800 for the full package (for me a console is incomplete without a disc drive)....they don't even have the decency to put a pro controller in the package! Nahhhhhhh!

Sure is expensive. How good value the tech is, I’ll wait for a detailed analysis from Digital Foundry. Nothing is cheap currently, Series X 2TB is $600 and that’s just for extra storage, no performance gains. A comparable PC surely is quite a bit more. Biggest issue is content, this is an issue for anything coming up. PS6 whatever MS releases next, it honestly feels like most people are happy with 1440p with decent upscaling and 60fps with stable frame pacing.
So if you dont play a game on pro mode, if said game offers it. It plays the same as a regular PS5? Lucky enough to have gotten a launch disk version and it it still works great.
