The "half rep - hold - finish rep" variations are really hard and make you push your limits, so at this point he isn't really pretending anything Crazy pump!
One of the best workout channels I’ve come across. He’s not trying to sell you any shit, not talking a bunch of nonsense, or bombarding you with ads, which is all pretty rare in this arena.
@@darthrevan454 I know I can, it's just going to take a while. To start I have decided to do 100 push ups a day minimum, my doctor says I have high cholestrol due to not enough exercise so I have no choice really , it's either that or snuff it.
I am 66 years old (67 in January) and decided to take on the challenge. I have always been quite strong doing straight out push-ups but this was different and I only managed 13 on day 1. I failed to get to 30 on day 30 but managed to complete the challenge 3 days later on day 33. I was very pleased with myself! Here's my progress: Day 1 - 13 Day 4 - 16 Day 8 - 16 (maybe could have got one more but gave up) Day 11 - 18 Day 14 - 20 Day 18 - 22 Day 21 - 24 Day 24 - 26 Day 27 - 24 (went backwards - not strong enough mentally) Day 30 - 25 Day 33 - 30 - mission accomplished! I discovered that half the challenge is the physical ability but the other half is mental strength to push yourself.
Lets go oldies I am 71 and will be starting this shortly To complete this and other challenges, at our ages or younger it takes grit. Grit and determination I'll get back to youall
I'm 61 years old and I've been training since the late 1980s. I've done free weights, machines, kettlebells, isometrics... Westside, Weider, Pavel, HIT...you name it and I've probably tried it. None of them have given me the success that I've found with your program Igor. It's fantastic. Your videos have been a real blessing during this pandemic and I wish you best of all good things in the future.
Day 1 - 06.01.2025: 13 reps (with long hold) Day 2 - 13.01.2025: 13 reps (with long hold) Day 3 - 14.01.2025: 13 reps (with long hold) Day 4 - 15.01.2025: 14 reps Day 5 - 16.01.2025: 14 reps Day 6 - 17.01.2025: 15 reps
I’ve done this challenge every night for 6 months and tonight was the first time I completed it fully without a break or bending my back at the top. I’ve lost 40lbs and look/feel so much better. Stay with it, and don’t give up! Respect yourself and your body! Thanks for such a great video!
Good job on your progress! I would just like to point out that you actually don't need to do push-ups more than twice a week. Better use the time to hit other muscle groups, mainly your back which will counter the chest strength and improve your posture. Don’t forget muscles need rest otherwise you will be overtraining them thus diminishing your gains. Keep it up!
@@agentfifteen I do plenty of other exercises including swimming, running, bike and elliptical with weights. You’re right, but this workout does so much for many muscle groups.
Thank you for this challenge. I am 51 The first several times i stucked in 12, now i always finished the whole 30 every time (i do this exercise 5 times a day) There is a secret friends, remember the magic numbers 8, 13, 18 and 30 (those are the long pause) If you can reach 10 means the muscles are already there and ready, it's mostly only about your mental now. We fail mostly because mentally not ready when the pause suddenly getting longer than we expected. By remembering magic numbers 8, 13, 18 & 30 we can get our mental ready when it's time After using this strategy i always pass the whole 30 every time Remember friends, it's only about mental preparation and magic numbers Good luck, see you all at the 30 club
6 times a day ? That's impressive at any age. Did he say in the video you should do the drill every 4 days ? Anyway, congrats, I am going to start it. Am interested in what kind of changes you have achieved. Good tip on the long counts, I can see where I could get stuck there
@@johng6637 Hi John, i am sure you can do the same like me. Just remember ... if cou can reach 10, you actually can reach 30. Igor has been to kind to us as beginners. Do you think only doing that challenge once every 4 days (a month 31 : 4 = not even 8 set) can make us change from Igor picture 1 to Igor picture 2? Oh come on.... I am sure Igor himself does this challenge even more that 6x per day. It's good he said just need to do that once every 4 days. If he said i had to do it several times a day in the video i think i wouldn't even want to try this challenge. So thank you so much Igor .... this is my main daily work out now. And you know what is even more fun? Once you are used to always finish 30 each time, you can start challenging your friends the way i do ...." if you could do just 20, i'll give you $100". I always get my money back. If they are not prepared for this specific challenge it will be too hard for them just like us in the beginning. Once they all failed, i did 30 straight. It'll make them respect me most. Hahahahaha
@@GojoUltra-l5p Great Medi, it's already so close, i guarantee you can be in my club 30 soon. The long pause 18 already passed, the next (the last) pause is only at the finish line number 30. So after secret number 18 just close your eyes, don't think just keep doing it (no more long pauses in between 18 and 30) only open your eyes when you reach over 26 (red numbers) to get yourself prepared for the last pause (finish line 30) .... before 26 just quick peep to make sure you have reach the red coloured numbers, only then you may open your eyes .... only one long pause left (count 30) and you'll be so proud of yourself
@@mteokay1246 As efficient as it is for my age, doing it day after day messed up my performance in the long-run. After switching to an "every Monday, Wednesday, Friday" routine, my performance benefitted, and it was a big difference. I have been doing this challenge since two years ago, and I'm on day 64 working hard. Their isn't much statistics here on @southamvids to go off of though.
@skillz78 yea i agree, doing it everyday helps because you dont have to remember which day youre taking off and which day will suck. All of them suck lol. But only do 1 or 2 sets instead of 3-5. That way you get to 7-14 sets by the end of one week.
Day 1: 3/14/21 1st attempt: 12 Day1: 3/14/21 2nd attempt: 15 3/15/21: Day 2 18 Goal tomorrow: 20-24 Day 3 3/16/21: 30 Day 4 3/17/21: 30 (but form not great after 26).
Thanks. Exceeded my goal today and finished the entire set right after a spin class with the entire group cheering. It was amazing. After 24 (the long down part) the rest is not too difficult. Good luck everyone. The challenge is both physical and mental; similar to the last miles of a marathon.
@@tradenchill9123 if you're trying to be fresh everyday for the challenge is say no, most people only train chest two or three times a week to allow the muscle fibres time to repair.

Make sure to get enough sleep and eat enough. I struggled to make any gains for a long time before because my sleep was whack and I didn’t eat enough protein. But if you got those under control you’re probably just at a plateau, keep pushing bro.

I’m confused by how many thumbs down there are. The world needs more Igors, people who motivate and bring a positive energy. I will start this challenge in the morning, can’t wait.
Haha I didn’t need a change but I enjoy a challenge. I’ve been working out daily my whole life but I understand where you’re coming from. I guessed you didn’t see it but I already started the challenge.
Did this challenge a year ago. My record was 27 (started at 15) after a month. But had an accident and lost all gains. One year later, back at training and finally made it to the end (30). But I'm not finished, as the last push-ups lack form and I'll be working on that. I'm very happy. Thank you Igor.
Dec 17th-start date. Failed at 9. I haven't worked out in over 5 YEARS! I am excited to see where I am in 30 days. Thank you Igor. Continue motivating and inspiring us out of shape Father's! 😅😅😅
I've been doing this 3 times per week for 3 weeks and 18 is my top rep number. Today I completed the challenge in 2 sets (17+13). "Burned like hell...", but so worth it. Thanks!
Update: I have been doing this for just over a year now and can say it has changed my build and my strength. I do them 3x/week and complete them each time. It is still a difficult workout, but I get so much satisfaction upon completing it. I turned 57 today and am in the best shape I've been in a long time. I will do this workout for as long as I can, I absolutely love it (and hate it at the same time, lol).
Haven't been to the gym in over a year so need to re-start: 10/03/2021 Day 1: 8 11/03/2021 Day 2: 11 12/03/2021 Day 3: 12 13/03/2021 Day 4: Rest 14/03/2021 Day 5: 13

A hack to help you out with this challenge: I focused more on my pause at the bottom and the hold at the top. It is important to train the muscles used for the pause at the bottom and top. I did this every other day when I did my push-ups and went from 18 on March 18 to completing the challenge on April 4. To everyone trying this challenge, great work!!!
@@s.suzanne3516 Hi, Good question:) I am strong at push ups but I was failing miserably on the holds so I began to spend more time on the holds. For example, I would do ten pushups and hold on the bottom for 30secs and do this for a set of three. Did the same thing for the top hold as well. Hope this helps. The muscles on the holds were my weak points.

@@michaelschmidt4206 I kind of forgot about this challenge, so here I am back, trying to actually stay committed and finish it. I won't give up. I'll update this as much as I can!
My results: Day 1: 13 reps (Is a good start!) Day 2: 15 reps (Yessterday's pain was felt today) Day 3: 16 reps (It's so difficult) Day 4: 18 reps (after the rep no. 13 is so difficult) Day 5: See you tomorrow...
It took me the whole year to finish this challenge I started last year July and I kept falling of but today I finished it.Thanks Igor you inspire me to keep pushing hard and never give up
A little overweight, but I'll be honest and try my best. Day 1: 8 reps (10:34pm) Day 2: 8 reps (11:44am) Day 3: 9 reps (12:47pm) Day 4: 9 reps (11:37am) Day 5: 9 reps (3:10pm) Day 6: 8 reps (5:25pm) Day 7: 10 reps (9:47am)
I started on day 1 with 17 pushups. After about 2 weeks I was consistently get 23-25. I finally got to the full 30 after about 6 weeks. I only did it once and that was this past week but I typically get to 26-27 and always finish the rest from my knees which is still a challenge. I am 53 and really enjoy this as it is quick to do but really pushes you! Thanks Igor!!!
Exercise is nothing without good nutrition. Problem is I have no idea about calories, macros and nutrients. I tried Next Level Diet and currently it's working perfectly for me. 100% recommend
It's a fun challenge. But to all beginners focus on whole body workouts and not only pushing ones. Work your back and biceps also. Simply do pull ups or lateral raises. You don't want muscle imbalances.
@@izzyrey I'm speaking from experience. When my friend started working out he did only push ups and over a couple of months I saw his posture detoriating. He had prominent triceps and pecs but no back or legs or biceps. He looked like a badly drawn cartoon ngl.
I'm 50 years old. 6'2" 215 lbs. Day one. I got to 8. Those pauses at the bottom are intense. Like planking while doing pushups. I'll try again in 4 days.

Hello everyone I am a 38 year old married man, back in the days I used to be a master in push ups and then moved to body building, now with the problem with Carona Virus this is the way to go. I would like to go on it again, not exactly in this way, but similar without the music. Thank you Igor for inspiring me to get back in shape in your video.
I'm 49 years olds and started with 9 push ups. After 7 months I finally managed to finish the challenge constantly. I practiced only 3 times a week in the gym. I started with a little warm up and followed with the challenge. After that i continued with shoulder exercises and different push ups. Small and wide. Slow and fast. Nice to know that practice pays off. 💪🏻💪🏻
In 🕐 one hour I do 400 pushups, correctly but not like this guy's so slowly! Only 30 second's between rep's untill 50. 2 minutes and another 50 an so I go until 350-400 less than one hour! All this is after a work day! What about this program?
Ok Timo, I'm also started this challenge 13 days ago, I fail at the 16th push-up. I will give myself also 7 months to finish this project. Thanks for the exercise tips! Regards, Ben

The "half rep - hold - finish rep" variations are really hard and make you push your limits, so at this point he isn't really pretending anything

I managed 10 and it was harder than I thought, getting old does not help but I will stick with it. I'm 66.
A name like Mick Boon, you can do anything ;)
You can do it man!
@@darthrevan454 I know I can, it's just going to take a while. To start I have decided to do 100 push ups a day minimum, my doctor says I have high cholestrol due to not enough exercise so I have no choice really , it's either that or snuff it.
Bro brovo I’m 13 and I can only do 20 and the fact that ur 66 and doing this gives me such motivation
Mick Boon I’m 18 pretty under weight but if your pushing your self I can too keep going. I’m in this with you 💪🏾
I am 66 years old (67 in January) and decided to take on the challenge. I have always been quite strong doing straight out push-ups but this was different and I only managed 13 on day 1. I failed to get to 30 on day 30 but managed to complete the challenge 3 days later on day 33. I was very pleased with myself!
Here's my progress:
Day 1 - 13
Day 4 - 16
Day 8 - 16 (maybe could have got one more but gave up)
Day 11 - 18
Day 14 - 20
Day 18 - 22
Day 21 - 24
Day 24 - 26
Day 27 - 24 (went backwards - not strong enough mentally)
Day 30 - 25
Day 33 - 30 - mission accomplished!
I discovered that half the challenge is the physical ability but the other half is mental strength to push yourself.
True that! Mind over matter and you can accomplish anything! Good work btw!

It's amazing! To keep going so long! I also completed but without loosing weight😂😉
Nice comment, Thank you for sharing your story now I am Inspired by you
Good job on your progress!
Did you use a diet?
Thank you for this challenge.
I am 51
The first several times i stucked in 12, now i always finished the whole 30 every time (i do this exercise 5 times a day)
There is a secret friends, remember the magic numbers 8, 13, 18 and 30 (those are the long pause)
If you can reach 10 means the muscles are already there and ready, it's mostly only about your mental now.
We fail mostly because mentally not ready when the pause suddenly getting longer than we expected.
By remembering magic numbers 8, 13, 18 & 30 we can get our mental ready when it's time
After using this strategy i always pass the whole 30 every time
Remember friends, it's only about mental preparation and magic numbers
Good luck, see you all at the 30 club
Hahahahaha
@@crutwinata2307 Thanks for the feedback and advice
@@crutwinata2307 thanks man, I'll use your advice...I'm able to reach 20 for the moment
Have done this on and off for the last 4 months and finally got to 30 today!! Honestly so proud of myself, I didn’t think I’d get here!
How many days in between the workouts ? I guess for a beginner like meself its impossible to do it day after day huh.
@@mteokay1246 As efficient as it is for my age, doing it day after day messed up my performance in the long-run. @@mteokay1246not impossible to do it day after day. That is how you’ll reach the goal doing it every day.

How did you "focus". What exactly did you do, or not do?

Good question:) I am strong at push ups but I was failing miserably on the holds so I began to spend more time on the holds. For example, I would do ten pushups and hold on the bottom for 30secs and do this for a set of three. Did the same thing for the top hold as well.
Hope this helps. The muscles on the holds were my weak points.

You can do another challenges at the same time to workout all the body jjj
If you're a beginner any physical challenge is sufficient.

Tomorrow is mine and my brother's upper body day, we are definitely going to try this!
Age 60. One year ago my resting heart rate was 48, could do 55 consecutive pushups. Fast forward one year, and no activity along with alcohol I struggle getting 20 pushups. Today I did 22 pushups, then 11, then 11. That’s my starting point for workout 1
That’s amazing man keep it up

Ragnar Lothbrok teaching people the right way to do a pushups challenge, this couldn't get any better.
Ostrich: Haha

Hello everyone I am a 38 year old married man, back in the days I used to be a master in push ups and then moved to body building, now with the problem with Carona Virus this is the way to go. I would like to go on it again, not exactly in this way, but similar without the music. Thank you Igor for inspiring me to get back in shape in your video.
@Aryan nobody cares
@Aryan yes thanks for the spell check.
@skOsH Yeah I may do that should this corona virus carries on. For now I Am sticking with cardio, push ups and sit ups.
Day 1 : 17 push-ups (the last 2 done was mind coaching) Second set : 17 to 25 Last set : until 30
His face is red at end it means my whole body gonna be red😂
Boi, I'm hoping I'll be able to move
You know you're screwed when the russian guy gets tired.
🤣🤣🤣
@@rayar2323 let's just hope😅
Yup, hes doing the Ohma Tokita secret technique.
That’s very respectable for nearly 50y/o. You’re up against young guys half your age. Take a bow daddy!
@@benvanpoucke3491 good luck Ben. Don't give up. Eventually you will succeed. It's a mindset. 💪🏻💪🏻🏋️♂️

Same her😅
That pause is killing it 🥵
Is this daily for 30 days. No rest days needed?
This video helped get me through 2019, 2020. These are the types of exercises I was doing back then with all of the gyms closed. I just started recently getting back into this exercise.
Day 24: Today I completed the challenge! Thanks for the challenge, Igor!!
R u getting results?
@@multiknowledge4618 Subtle, but yes for sure. I don’t have a gym membership, but just push-ups, pull-ups, squats, running, biking, etc yields great results when done daily over time.
Just never miss twice!
Impressive! Congrats
@@1CarlAnthony Thanks! You can do it too!
Congratulations!
