HP softwarelocked my color print ability, via update, because i used 3rd partie cartriges. i know its a softwarelock because i went into the hidden tech-service menus, and ran a printtest there, and it ran perfectly, but whn i tried to use the printer normally it only used the black cartrige.. THATS a ripoff
Yeah you can buy 100ml bottles of ink for like $5 on Amazon it's crazy. I just refill mine two or three times with the bulk ink before buying an offbrand cartridge.
For many ink jet printers if you put it on draft it will look the same quality and print 2x or 8x faster. ALWAYS test the quality setting to see what best works for your printer, which can save you time and money. Draft mode can make you print 2-4 times more prints than the default normal mode.
You wouldn't be saying this if you looked at the history of printers and realise it was actually HP who bought the 'personal' printers in the markets in 1970s.
Lol, no it's like talking about animated films and only mentioning Disney, forgetting that Warner Bros also played a big part in early animation. With Inkjet printing, Epson, and Canon were also a large part of printer history, but only HP was mentioned, with a high focus on HP's current products. This is entirely an advert for HP.
dont listen to him! he only tells you what the printer companies will tell you. next time your printer runs out of ink just refill it with some cheap ink from ebay. they cost 3 USD included shipping. Ive done it tons of times and i have never ruined a single cartridge. If you do ruin your cartridge (which i guarantee you will not) THEN you can buy the cartridge he told you about..
asdf yeah I agree with you.. But our problem is, we sometimes can't measure the volume of ink we're going to refill. When I print something, it'll make the print out messy, with some red or black ink.. It's dripping from the cartridge.. But when we try to reduce it, it seems like the red is not enough, or the yellow..
you can take your carts out and reset them in most cases. That will let your computer get a proper read on how much you have left. Sometimes thats enough to get your printer working again.
This is a really good HP commercial. First off, inks aren't that complicated. I would bet that most r&d goes toward making high quality, fade resistant ink. Most people don't need that. Second, HP, at least there 82 series of cartridges (and I would bet any ink cartridge that doesn't have a print head on it), are just rubber bags. So I don't know how that can become unreliable. Third, yea, I'm sure having the printhead on the cartridge makes the printer cheaper. It also makes the cartridge much more expensive. It would probably also make it more difficult to refill. Oh, that's why. I get it, you guys need to make money. I fine with that. Infact, How Stuff Works being a profitable brand would make me happy. But I think you guys went a little too far. I never heard you say that this video was brought to you by HP, or that HP is a sponsor. If they are, or they worked with you on this video in any way, I think you should disclose that.
Refilling inkjet cartridges are very do-able as long as you have some patience. A multi-color cartridge is a quite tricky and requires a lot of practice, but a single color cartridge (black) is very very easy to work on.
Printer ink is a scam and moving the print heads from the printer to the cartrige is just a way for them to make the cartriges you have to buy over and over again more expencive.
"Don't refill your cartridges. This video sponsored by HP". lol. Refill yourself, it takes some learning but no more than a few hours maybe including video watching, trial and error over time refilling and getting better at it, but will save you hundreds of dollars. You could be refilling your cartridges for around $.10 to .20 cents per cartridge. Cost me $17 for a refill kit and huge ink bottles that have probably a hundred refills worth at least. $.10 to .20 cents is what it actually costs the big manufacturers to not only make the ink but the cartridge as well. Let that sink into your bank account next time you spend $40 bleeping dollars on less than an ounce of ink, lol.
Rondo Schiavoni your printer says your ink is low, but it's not actually low. that's just what happens when you refill cartridges because you only refill them, and don't replace all the parts on it. so don't worry about it :)
Must Thank you for a very crisp, no not that alone, really wonderful explanation at basic level, of accidentally introducing a superb TECHNOLOGY by hp researchers that transformed so compactly the printing job world-over!❤❤❤😳🙄
Yeah, he's telling a bit of BS there : I own a canon printer and looked on internet how to refill it with ink bought from amazon (it cost me 10 euros) and even though it took me a little bit of time to figure out how to do it right and buy the tools (on Bangood for example it's cheap there, I bought pipettes with very small output), I eventually did it and it works kinda perfectly. I saw a video on internet that said you could refill a cartridge up to 10 times before buying a new one. So...yeah give it a thought, and check that your printer doesn't have that software that prevents you from reusing the same cartridge.
HP Instant Ink. For 50 pages/month it's $2.99, 100 pages is $4.99, and 300 pages is $9.99, I believe. The pages rollover to the next month if you don't use them.
I just bought black ink few days ago and it stop working, i only print few pages, so i take it out than shake it really hard and it went on my brand new shirt and pant, i was super mad as hell.
Don't listen to the buying new cartridges bs I've refilled multiple printers cartridges multiple times from one single kit and they've never been unreliable ever.
lol That's bit much, I think I red somewhere that they sell them at that price because they want to compensate for selling the printers at a loss. I don't know how true it is but that's what I heard.
MrPinknumber its so expensive that throw it away when it runs out of ink.when two little ink cartridges cost more than to buy a brand new printer with the ink in it tells me something shady is going on
Lol exactly. The XL cartridges for my printer are 30$ each for black, 40$ for color. The same new printer is 50$. I think I'll take the "risk" of recharging them.
I bought a printer with both cartridge in it. Later when I went to buy cartridge, the price of one was the same price of a printer. So now, I buy the printer when it is on sale. Give the printer as a gift and take the cartridge.
Bought a new HP cartridge for ₹550 (claimed to print ~120 pages) got empty in just 60, then I bought the 100 ml Ink bottle for ₹60, refilled it my self an printed 100+ pages in just 8ml of refill ink 😋 *Can't they Just sell the Ink* 😤
Inkjet technology should not be working, there is no firing of ink, there is only dropping which would block the ports of the cartridge immediately as you print. This is a lie.
Yea but those inkjet things have only 8 contact points for data transmission. How the hell do a few data signals turn into a full color picture 1080dpi? Fukin witchery.. magic and farts…
ink is cheap, profit is why its expensive, to the point where printer manufacturers use technology to prevent using alternative refills, including embedded chips in cartridges that timeout to make you buy their expensive ink even before cartridge is empty.
It costs printer companies literally pennies and dimes to make these ink cartridges,
and they sell it for $40 to $60 a pack.
Talk about some rip off.
Sunny shah they sell printers dirt cheap for that very reason.
I heard of that, but how much does a printer generally cost then if they didn't drive the price down?
@@dsconnectedn3uron324 Or, it's broken. Occam's Razor. I also can't find anything on there being a factual basis behind the claim.
Yeah you can buy 100ml bottles of ink for like $5 on Amazon it's crazy. I just refill mine two or three times with the bulk ink before buying an offbrand cartridge.
So, after the HP ad, would you like to make a video explaining how TONER works?
"I remember hair" XD
Get some rabbits printed, that way from a distance they look like Hares
Em lol
😓
What in the rgb😂
XD 😂

Nice advert for HP!
+Kalisto Gatsby I know right?!? It's just wrong
I agree!!
You wouldn't be saying this if you looked at the history of printers and realise it was actually HP who bought the 'personal' printers in the markets in 1970s.
What does HP buying printers in the 70's have to do with this advertisement?
Lol, no it's like talking about animated films and only mentioning Disney, forgetting that Warner Bros also played a big part in early animation.

You can tell he's in the pocket of the printer companies.
This is a really good HP commercial. First off, inks aren't that complicated. I would bet that most r&d goes toward making high quality, fade resistant ink. Most people don't need that.

i've recharged my cartridge 10 times and they still good
Interesting video, but clearly paid for by HP haha
"Moving the print head to the cartridge results in less expensive printers"
And way more expensive ink cartridges...
Refilling inkjet cartridges are very do-able as long as you have some patience. A multi-color cartridge is a quite tricky and requires a lot of practice, but a single color cartridge (black) is very very easy to work on.
I'll never own another H/P printer
"I remember hair!" I fliiiiiped
Does anybody know what printer that is at 4:55
Cool video. I don't refill my tanks but I do buy knock offs. They really do work just as good and cost 1/5 as much.
can we use permanent marker ink instead of default ink of inject cartridge ?
Printer ink is a scam and moving the print heads from the printer to the cartrige is just a way for them to make the cartriges you have to buy over and over again more expencive.
Thanks for the explanation
100 % hp sponsered video.
Always refill cartridge and save plastic getting in landfills.
"i remember hair" i almost spit out my drink lol
Which is good Epson printer or hp printer?
I can die peacefully now knowing how printers work.
I like the way you explain. Very helpful

did the refills as per instruction ,, my printer still sees a low cartridge . what can I do to make this be fixed?
Rondo Schiavoni your printer says your ink is low, but it's not actually low. that's just what happens when you refill cartridges because you only refill them, and don't replace all the parts on it. so don't worry about it :)
thank you because it is working even though its says its low on ink
there is no ink cartridges recycling place in our area. the closest one I found is 47 miles away

Next Video : Ink Cartridges Are A Scam
Thanks RUclips :)
0:44 made me go cross eyed 😂😂

How to check if mine doesn't let me reuse the cartridge?
This video helped me make a purchase decision. Thank you!
Great video thanks for the info
what are the subscription ink names?
HP Instant Ink. For 50 pages/month it's $2.99, 100 pages is $4.99, and 300 pages is $9.99, I believe. The pages rollover to the next month if you don't use them.
How much did HP pay you to say refilling is a bad thing?
Why is Bob Marley like a printer?
Cos he was always jamming!
I just bought black ink few days ago and it stop working, i only print few pages, so i take it out than shake it really hard and it went on my brand new shirt and pant, i was super mad as hell.
I feelu bro
the printhead is clogged. just blow inside the holes on top of the cartridge till ink flows out and refill it :)
use suction tool to clear the clog. You can buy it in amazon or ebay
I try to refill mine and it ends up fucking up. Where one color won't work or it's not the right mix. Pain in the ass
CMYK coloring?
My cousins had a normal printer but in their country it uses full on ink not cartridges with 1 atom worth of ink
Also try and find a printer that doesn’t depend on your color cartridge to print black.
Don't listen to the buying new cartridges bs I've refilled multiple printers cartridges multiple times from one single kit and they've never been unreliable ever.
"I remember hair" I like it

Pity there is no subscriptions for laser printers.
Most of your ink goes into the sponge in your inkjet waste tank.
1:02 poor bastard doesn't realize what's on his face
Stfu and it was a joke
Refilling ink costs 1-10% of a new cartridge!
1:07 Aye man you look great with the beard!
You will bold faster if you don't refill your printer , changing to a new cartridge all the time will trigger an unconscious habit of hair pulling 🤣
Speaking of printers, can't this guy just 3D Print Some hair?
+Jonas Neuenfeld If only, Jonas. If only.
Ink ribbons were nice because they didn't cost $80
Why is it allowed, to sell cartridges cheaper with a printer, than without? With my printer I would literally save 10 dollars. (Canon MG2950)
Awesome explanation. Thank you for the information.
its a scam
I just got a printer and I’m worried I’m using up all the colored ink 😂😂😂😂😂by printing photos of ...my favorite ideals lol
