Turning STIHL BR800c From A Side Start To A Pull Start!

- The side start broke on the Stihl Br800c. We needed a quick fix to finish the season, only a few more leaf clean-ups to do! luckily we had an old Echo pull cord and we were able to figure out how to turn it into a pull start blower. Better yet, we don't think the fix is going to be super difficult because the housing comes all apart anyway! I'll be going up to Ace to see if they can order us the part!

@@happysfamilywnc thats why love stihl all parts and weed wacker parts from most weedwackers fits all units wich nice and it uses same parts even the chikura weed wackers uses stihl parts as well wich is nices thing with stihl and chikura units

I find on my Husqvarna BPS570 blowers that have the cross strap that goes across your chest is a night and day difference on my back clicking it in and adjusting it right. I don't know what exactly it is but it really makes a huge difference, if I run it with just the shoulder straps alone my back is hurting after 5 min... Use the straps it has as it was designed in such a way... For a long time I didn't thinking how much of a difference could it possibly make? Well it made a HUGE difference. Nice quick fix... I am not a fan of that side start setup... I also have one of Stihls handheld blowers with some easy start setup on it that is a piece of junk, since new it gives me problems, I have had it apart and replaced all kinds of pieces to make it work right and it just keeps breaking after like 2 weeks.

My pull rope broke, but the rest of the side pull is OK. I like this blower, the hip belt makes it bearable to carry when I’m clearing snow with it for several hours. However I find the side pull to be troublesome and prefer the regular pull on the 800x.

Ayye a repair video, cool. And I think you two said previously you were planning to work on the open trailer this winter? That'll be interesting to see. Hopefully I will have energy and opportunity to finally unbox and learn my fluxcore welder this winter, because I want to use it for trailer mods when winter breaks, or if we have some warm days.
I am also going to learn to weld one day! Yes I do want to fix the open trailer but I need to get the enclosed together first. I always have lots of plans and never enough time or money to do everything. It would be nice to have the open fixed by the time I have to do mulch but I think I would have to see if lawn commander would maybe come help. Who knows what the winter will bring, it’s all dependent on weather.
@@happysfamilywnc ahh, you were talking about the enclosed. Well hopefully, to make it easier for mulch, that open trailer gets on the road 👍 Now it's time to get some way overdue billing done and fry up some chicken tenders 😂😋

If u just needed to start the blower you could have took a cordless drill and a socket and put it on that nut on the flywheel and started it.
