      Glad to hear you got it going. Such a common problem with these blowers, I try to switch people to Amsoil Saber 80:1 or 100:1, seems to solve the problem.

    I just want to thank you. I did exactly what you said and took the spark arrestor out, torched it, wire brushed it, re assembled it, fired it up, and it ran like new! So simple, but I wouldn’t have known that if I hadn’t found your video. 👍

    You rock! I was in the middle of my fall clean up and my Stihl BR 450 started to not go to full power. It is several years old and has never been serviced, and I feared the worst, especially since my local power equipment company has an 8 week backlog on repairs. Your suggestion did the trick and the blower is back at full power. I will be taking your advice on the oil, as I have only used the Stihl brand to date. Thank you!

      Great to hear! The BR 450 is one of my favorite blowers, pushes lots of air.

    I got a 6 pack of the Stihl oil to double my warranty back in 2011 when I bought my BG86CE handheld blower. The spark arrestor jammed up in the first year when I was using up all that Stihl oil. I switched over to the Husqvarna synthetic and I haven't had a problem with it in the last 11 years. I did have to replace the starter rope and the primer bulb but it still has the original spark plug and carburetor gaskets.

    • @fischertoolandgarden
      @fischertoolandgarden  6 месяцев назад

      There ya go! There's seems to be something in that Ultra oil that plugs up spark arrestors. Don't know what it is. Some people have good luck with it, some use the Still HP with good results, some use the Amsoil Saber or Dominator 2 Stroke.

      Short duration runs doesn't help either. I was running a lawn route back then so I was using it for a very short time about 30-40 times a week. @@fischertoolandgarden

    Me personally. I don't put those back in. When I come across equipment I work on with that problem I just leave the stupid screen out. You'll even get more rpms without it

  • @ChrisR
    @ChrisR 7 месяцев назад +1

    I see those come in clogged up and I almost always find poor quality fuel in the tank. I think some people put too much oil in the fuel thinking it helps (spoiler alert: It Doesn't). If you just run the motomix fuel this problem will never happen in the first place.

    • @fischertoolandgarden
      @fischertoolandgarden  7 месяцев назад

      Yes Motomix is a great fuel, 99% Alkylate, unlike others I've found except Aspen. This burns super clean. I had a customer come in yesterday that uses Motomix exclusively, no repairs or problems

    What if I did this and it is still not getting power to blow?

    • @fischertoolandgarden
      @fischertoolandgarden  29 дней назад

      Fuel filter, Air filter, Carburetor adjustment or replacement? If the fuel filter and air filter are OK, I would try to hold the throttle wide open and try adjusting the High needle (H) on the carburetor. If it doesn't work, and the blower has good compression, I would probably replace the carburetor. I would probably check the exhaust port and muffler first for any blockage though.

    My issue on my br400 is that the tab on the thumb side throttle lever snapped off. I have the new part. But, cannot compress the washers enough to install it. Any suggestions?

    • @fischertoolandgarden
      @fischertoolandgarden  9 месяцев назад +1

      Been a long time since I've worked on one of those, but I believe I made a tool for that. I found a piece of pipe that was about the size of the outside washer diameter. I cut a notch in the end big enough to slide the clip in. Put the left handle, washers, and bolt in a vice, compressed it, then snapped the clip in place.

    Do you need the spark arrestor? Can’t you just remove it

    • @fischertoolandgarden
      @fischertoolandgarden  3 месяца назад

      I don't think the Fire Department would like that, hah! I do think that you need a little backpressure from it for the machine to run properly, just like 2 strock motorcycles. Fully plugged is a bit too much.

    Stihl ultra is junk oil, only JASO FB rated amsoil, Echo Red Armor, and Husqvarna XP oil are all JASO FD rated and burn much cleaner

    • @fischertoolandgarden
      @fischertoolandgarden  7 месяцев назад

      It's funny, some people are stuck on one oil and find it hard to try a different oil, especially if it's 100:1 or even 80:1. Most of the time when they try the Saber, they really like it, but some are afraid of the ratio. You can run the Amsoil at 50:1, but that makes ME nervous, too thick my clog the jets. I'm probably wrong, but that's my quirk.

    • @Saw_Squatch
      @Saw_Squatch 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@fischertoolandgarden I always try to explain to people your mix ratio is reflective of the quality of oil you're not some intrinsic property of the machine but some people just refuse to understand.
