This brings back some memories. I was there when they just oppened up the borders after the covid closure. It was a little bit different. I got harresed multiple times, they tried to lure me into empty areas to "see monkey" lol, but I guess it is better now. The city is beautiful, but dirty and very cramped. Ok, when I went there it was Ramadan, so probably that made it different too. I guess you choose the right camera for that, my A7ii was too camera like in that times :D
Wonderful stuff!!! It's great watching you going about your walks and seeing how you come across images rather than just posting the images you find. 👏👏👏
You are so talented Tim fully enjoyed both the video and the shots , excellent story telling and the last photo is phenomenal. What I love about your work is that besides the storytelling there are things to learn from the way you position yourself and the fact that you wait or adjust and than to see the final result , love this educational aspect of this videos. Music on point . Can’t wait for the Zine ! Thank you again for educating and inspiring and for the talent and effort you put into this videos.
These are such lovely photos, and a wonderful sense of the experience of the city. I really enjoyed all these lovely moments that use your creativity to show a view of this place and time. I especially like the lady in purple in the mirrors at 1:36. I was trying to guess what lens you're using - XF 50mm f/2? Looking forward to what's next!
Loved this pov.. Morocco is seriously an awesome place. Btw love the music selection for the pov...forgor to ask which focal length or lens u used inthe XE 4
Off to Marrakech for a few nights in July. I'm taking the X100F, and wonder if you have any of your own personal tips or advice? All I've come to read so far is how difficult street photography can be in such a bustling city, people are distrustful of the camera etc. Outstanding photos, by the way. Love your composition and use of light and space.
Cheers mate! I absolutely love Marrakech. Yeah street photography is difficult but I had no trouble approaching it in a more abstract, aesthetic, light & shadow sort of approach rather than in a traditional street photography sort of way if that makes any sense haha. Billy D just posted on Instagram a lovely Marrakech series though, check that out and see what you think. Have a great trip!
Hi Jim, congratulations for your channel. Love to see your videos. I will visit marrakeque next week :). One question: regarding auto focus settings I realised that you use AF-S with single focus, right? Do you find better than AF-C ? From what I read and heard there, Marrakesh is one of the most difficult places to do street photography, and I wanted to know which are the best Auto focus settings to use there. I use the xt5 with 33mm 1.4 .
Thanks for the video! Going next week - though ive heard mixed reports about tourist taking photos, locals can be stand offish - so I may only take the iPhone rather than my dslr? Any thoughts?
Yeah it’s a tricky place to shoot but it’s also one of my favourite cities. You can go more abstract or risk people saying no, just try and be subtle :)
@@timjamiesonphotos Most of the time in such situations I shoot from the hip with a 18mm in tight spaces pretending im capturing video - that might work 😂
Just used Fuji xe4 and 35mm f/2 - worked for me but next time I go I’d probably also take a wider lens. People do not like their photo being taken in Morocco! So you need to be aware of that and adjust accordingly :)
Haha, the way I work I’m quite selective with what I photograph, so I don’t take as many photos as you might expect when I travel. But Marrakesh was filled with opportunities - a potential photo on every corner, so I certainly did take a lot of photos there!
It really depends - sometimes I shoot in burst but only on a low amount. But most of the time I just enjoy the challenge of getting it right with one click :)
the best POV street photography video i've seen in this year 🎉
Wow! What a compliment, thank you so much 😊

Thank you Tim.
Wow! What a complement! I really appreciate that mate, you’re far too kind 🙏🏻
All aboard the Marrakesh Express! Having the time to concentrate on a location pays dividends. Good work.
Thanks, Geoff! I must say I am truly itching to go back
Great sharing Tim. The last BnW reminds me about Fan Ho's photo. Bravo 🎈

Amazing work buddy 😮 can you tell me which camera do you use for vloging
Thanks mate! For the POV footage is the GoPro Hero 8 :)
Great video, and loving the music! Wish there was some info who actually plays instead of just a link to the label or whatever it is 🤔
Glad you enjoyed the video - the artist is Ebo Krdum

Hey, I just have experience shooting with AF-S single point autofocus. You can experiment and then choose wherever works best for you
Very nice video and photography. What camera are you using please?

What gear did ya use in Morocco … are people cool with us street art photographers there ?

How many shots are you taking on such day in such an environment? I probably couldn’t even carry enough sd cards ;)

Loved the video Tim. Just thought I should warn you that you were being stalked by a dark haired woman haha
Haha thanks, John! I’m very lucky to have such a patient partner 😂
I saw the same girl in a few moments in the video. It's is the girlfriend factor of the travel?
Haha yeah that’s my girlfriend, she’s the best putting up with my photography
