I'd be interested in BT stuff. Like:
-Why go into BT?
-What should you go into BT with?
-How do certain transitions into BT change what you do in BT? Ex like, are there situations oB that transitions into BT shouldn't be canceled?
-Should you fish for BT mix?
-When is playing for a BT mix up just introducing unnecessary risk into your gameplan? Just take the frames and run?
BT seems like a pretty deep stance given there's so many ways to enter it, with different frames on block vs on hit.
That said, this would be more beginner centric than what you had in this video and idk what your target audience is. Your analysis in this video was great and very useful! Do what you do feel passionate about and know well, and I'm sure that will attract the audience you hope to reach.

People are def sleeping on Lili. She got some nice buffs in T8. Would also add that 1,1 is another great tool to condition with.

thanks for this ! lili has been my main since tekken revolution but never really got into playing tekken online seriously until 8 came out, i have her moves down but realized i was lacking fundamentals with her after playing against high ranked opponents, this will def help in solidifying a game plan with her

It's a cool dynamic to gain safety like she does. I'm main shopping since Steve feels pretty awkward to play right now, Lili, Feng and Reina are on the list. Lili, of those, feels the most like what I'm looking for, her offense is so safe and her natural defense is great. Your explanation of her offense convinced me!
I've noticed Lili, Feng, and Steve are kind of a "type" of player lol.

I'm a big Tekken casual and Lili enjoyer, this video was interesting this is the first Tekken I've tried playing online outside of playing with friends, I'm just marauder ranked but if one day I feel like I'm plateauing I'll try to come back to this video
I feel like this would have been an amazing video for T7 Lili. T8 has so much chip damage that zoning and just playing passively and waiting to punish mistakes just loses you the game due to sheer attrition.
yeah I made the vid a couple weeks after 8 came out but i agree. that said I think a lot of things still hold up, just need to be a bit more proactive in 8

Thank you for this video. After much deliberation, I downloaded Tekken 8 today and actually am quite excited about it. I started to play as Lili back in Tekken 6 a long time ago and she definitely became one of my favourites (apart from Nina because she is my main). I didn't play TTT2 and only played Tekken 7 for a little bit. The one thing I discovered straightaway whilst practising with Lili is that you cannot play with her recklessly, just throwing out random moves and expecting to win? You have to be very careful and strategic with her moves. I now understand what top-level Lili players mean when they say she is quite risky. I see players online randomly doing moves and not even doing combos? I immediately think to myself "This player has no idea what they are doing with Lili".
I never played a single game of TEKKEN yet I am here watching this and be like "shir, I should learn that"
This is a really good video both for people that want to learn the character and people that need help fighting her.
She can be rather painful to play against in 8 if you don’t know what you’re doing

Hey thanks for doing this but i would recommend to just move record DJ in practice mode and then have your lili show how to counter. Would have worked much better for both parts of the guide . Appreciate the hard work tho!

I've gotta remember to be patient with her. I just have way to much fun with her cheese stuff that I get carried away. Also I've gotta seriously learn how to properly step, and step punish consistently.
I'm close to the Ryu Ranks but I been playing way too aggressively.
I want to add that Back Turn LK+RK is also a very good move (+2 on block).

even tho youre calling this an advanced guide, what i absolutely do miss from this guide is a tleast a quick mention of SS matterhorn, and how to enforce the backturn gamble, because thats quite frankly the 2 things that lili is so god damn broken at, if you understand fundamentals, and you can make people play your game, thats how you win em.
i originally made this guide because i saw an 'advanced' lili guide in the first 2 minutes telling me to use matterhorn and got pissed off. so yeah this video isn't gonna go over any tricks like that. BT is just something you can use like dew where you do it in the open to catch people on timing

@@nobacktalk f air enough, the sidestep matterhorn is such an insane tier move though that youre doing urself very few favors not atleast having it in your backhand consistently, its p much the nr1 reason sa to why lilis steal so many games in the higher ratings, but im sure you know that already. Point being, same wiht enforcing the Backturn, its very advanced technique that people should just be aware of exists as an option, guess everyone has their bias towards that though, the rest of the video was rock solid, so you wont hear me complain :P

@@nobacktalk SS Ws3 is just as dangerous, the gist is that alot of moves do not have enough tracking as well as downwards hitboxes to hit a lili matterhorning, i would love to give you some matchcodes or IDs , but those arent a thing.

How about cheesing DB 3+4 enemy always getting hit offguard with it. High range and guaranteed while standing 2 at proper range. Helps me win crucial round at purple ranks only tho
not guaranteed but the move is fine if you use it to take rounds
Thank you for the tips, its so hard to find genuine info on how to get better at playing Lili! I just made it to vanquisher on tekken and I feel like doubling down on fundamentals are really the only way to get any better to climb any higher. You can totally say no, but I was wondering if you ever do sparring matches or anything like that? I would love to have some matches and learn more from you if that is something you would be open to. If not, thanks for the tips anyway.

I met a Feng player who when pressured would always just go on the defensive and kept waiting for me to screw up. He won in the end. How should you react if your opponent always resorts to turtling as soon as they are minus and they're really disciplined at that?
grabs, d1,2, ff4, backturn into d2 or 1+2 mixup. get your frames and if they're really doing nothing, keep using your moves. how are you 'screwing up'? are you using punishable moves? are you whiffing?
d3. d1,2b for BT pressure. qcf3+4 get more frames. Steal turns with d1,2/ss etc.
Aside from that, learn the matchup too. Feng has a lot of bullshit and setups (his df1 is 0 on block and his shoulder is launchable for example)

Any chance of a TOTAL noob guide? This is my first Tekken game and I've picked Lili. I've made it to orange ranks literally with throws and down 1 2 mixup but I still have no idea what I'm doing. Most guides just say "do these moves" but they don't really teach any sort of gameplan.
Idk if i will make more vids but i’d start by focusing on your defense: blocking, ten frame punish, whiff punishing, and ducking strings. by doing this, you can feel like you have earned your wins by solidly countering your opponent and not just hoping they mess up
PiratekingFla made a good beginner guide, beginner combo guide, and even an intermediate guide, going over teh most important moves and use cases , aside from blocking , 10f 12f and 14f punish, and whiff punish, a big lili skill is also poking , because you have forward 4 and down 3(unsafe on block) as well as other moves to help with long range pressure!

Dude, qudans lost the game vs knee’s Lili because he didn’t know the matchup. The second time they played again, knee lost with Lili. She wasn’t hard to figure out. Lili’s gotten better in tekken 8, but not top tier.
