Honestly good tips. Although I do find it hard not to get offended when you say hell sweeps are fair damage when and end of string counter hits are scammers damage. As a Bryan of I counter hit you after 1,2,1 or d2, 3 or df2, 3 I earned that 🤣 either way thanks for the content.

I have played ranked 1 time for fun. I reached Blue Rank Strategist. I mostly train in training mode. Besides this i play quick battle for character moves and etc info. Awesome video btw. Keep it up with the content.

7:02 I'd say player's are very flow charty all the way to Tekken King... I don't really play ranked and only group matches, but the Tekken Kings are so spammy and flow charty it's crazy

"avoiding cheese" even when you know it'll work on some players is honestly in my experience a very good tip. If you're being cheesy, you don't really learn to defend or punish.... You're not doing yourself a favour because you'll come across a player that better at mashing and knowledge checking than you

What about string pressure that leads into stances? For example, Lili’s b1; b2,1; and cd1. These strings can go into dew-glide and take advantage of being able to go into dewglide, dewglide into side-step, or even back-turn. Because of the established threat of not only a frame trap but the initial move being safe, she can take advantage of this and set up real damage. Do you think playing this way is a bad idea and I should only play stances off of plus frames and get my damage from my front facing low pokes and mids?

It is actually sad that Bushin is considered mid. Those first Couple of ranks meant nothing. I know it is for making game more appealing for casuals, yet still.

Most common rank != mid… also due to rank deflation 1st time fujin != reached bushin/king back to fujin… ranks are completely broken in t8. Was pretty close to king a few times… would place myself somewhere purple in t7

A good example with strings is Jin's 2,1,4. In low Ranks it's literally free because everyone and their Mum presses into the 4 at the end and dies. In high Ranks the players rarely get CH by the 4 because the press less and then usually only get clipped by the 4 but not CH when they try to step a delay 4 to launch you. They will 1/4 press to check you to keep you on your toes but they will more often not move and block it or will try and step the last hit. In Fujin nobody tries to stepping that string and 3/4 players will spam into it. It's a few Ranks difference but the quality of players massively improves in just a few Ranks.

Rank isnt everything. Even some tekken gods or god of destruction doesnt even know how to punish properly and gets killed by blue ranks anyway. Regardless of ranks, level and quality of play are more important. Blue ranks are mid tier?doesnt even matter. Tekken 8 are just way more easy than the previous. Its just facts. We all are carried by our character and the new mechanics of the gane. Rank are just cosmetics . Dont take it too seriously.

Some good tips here. I feel like I follow a lot of these rules without even thinking about it. My problem is that I'm inconsistent. Like many players, I have my good sessions and bad sessions. I fall into bad habits. I get stubborn against players who I feel are avoiding defense by spam tactics and over-aggrression, and I end up trying to do the same to them. Other days, I'm very patient, watch for lows, sidestep and jab properly, duck highs, etc... I have gotten up to Tekken King with a few characters (Raven, Kazuya, Feng) but then I'll get demoted 2 or 3 ranks back to Fujin, usually when I stay up too late and I'm getting tired. I think every player should try to improve, but they all will hit their skill plateau at some point.

Been hardstuck at Bushin for a while now, and my problem is just closing rounds, and getting clipped moving other than that I punish strings hard like when I went from Fujin to Bushin in one sitting I was duck and punishing ninas can opener for the first time

But sure im wrong, i just try to convince myself that these big combo with heat will not last lol

I am a jack player that just hit tekken emperor but im having a hard time opening people up. Feels like i am always taking risks while the reward of my lows isnt that great. Not sure if you have any jack tips 😅?
