Hey, I'm glad to hear the pathway has begun for you and transition. Although it may seem slow, its begun. Keep talking and moving forward one step at a time!
I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. Sometimes challenges make us dig deep into our reserves (even those we didn't know we have). I have a step dad who had throat cancer and I was the one to juggle the schedule and take him to chemo, then radiation, dr appts, etc. I'm here to listen if you need me. As Charles points out the challenges will be physically, emotionally and spiritually for the both of you. Just remember: if you come to a point where you think you have no more, stop take a deep breath, look up and take one step at a time.... just keep looking forward understand there's a reason for everything.
Take care buddy. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family!

I'm very happy that it is as well. It's feels like I'm finally taking progressive steps forward and it feels great! I hope that I continue to move forward at a steady pace, but time will tell.
Thank you for the kind words as well about my Mom. It's scary. I've already lost one parent to Cancer, I don't want to lose another. We get the results of the PET-CT Scan and if there is no other cancer in her body the surgery will still take place. If there is cancer, I guess it changes the game. I will try to look forward as much as I possibly can.
Thank you for your prayers as well! Best wishes!

Hey man, I'm glad your appointment with the gender therapist went well. Where in Michigan are you? There may be other options to get on hormones besides going to the university that will be covered by Medicaid.
I am really sorry to hear about your mom's diagnosis. I know how hard it is to be a caregiver - there is a lot of emotional, physical, and spiritual strength involved. It must be immeasurably more difficult when it is a parent. My heart goes out to you, man. Message me anytime if you want to talk or just need an ear to listen.
In spite of all the challenges you face, I hope 2015 IS your year! :o)

I live in the Flint area. I'm hoping that my new Doctor will work with me. He's listed on Transgender.org as LGBT friendly, but that doesn't mean that he'll go along with Hormone Replacement Therapy. I'm hoping that he will. If he doesn't, well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it!
Thank you for your kind words as well. I'm trying to keep my head up and remember that it's ok to take care of my needs as well. I think I struggle with that a bit and feel guilty becasue my Mom's needs come before mine a lot.
I do hope that 2015 will be my year! Thank you for the sub as well. Best Wishes!
