This guy seems like such a nice guy, shoutout to anyone watching this in 2019!
Dont know if you guys cares but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last few weeks :)
@Ryker Camden yea, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for years myself :D
The power bank is a great idea, compared to buying a dummy battery and battery grip.
Man you just solved 2 of the biggest disadvantages of that camera. Genius! You gave me quite some ideas here. I am also planning to get the Sony A6300 so this convinced me even more now to get it. Subscribed!
The phone mount is such a good idea for mounting the battery. I've seen so many rig videos that just use velcro or an expensive accessory.
Thanks :) It's really the cheapest way to charge it on the go.
Like that setup a lot. You just earned yourself a sub man. Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you so much!
Excellent set-up!! Thank you for posting :)
Love this! Great setup! I just bought a a6300 and love this setup!
Really inventive and so worthwhile to assemble! Thanks!!
Sweet setup man! Super compact. Will have to try this out!
amazing vid man thank you for sharing
this is very cool man love it :)
Great setup, nice vid!
Thanks!
i tried using my phone as monitor but for some reason im limited to 1080p only when the phone is connected ? can you explain ?
Great video, helps me a lot !! Thanks Man
Really innovative! Thanks for putting this together.
Thanks Robert! Glad I could help.
It's very cool dude. Keep it up !!!
Thanks! :))
Thank you for shared this video very useful
I did this setup before, if you put an audio mic, the wifi signal will disrupt the audio quality, static can be heard. In the end I rather use HDMI external monitor.
Really? I'm gonna test that. I'm definitely switching to an external monitor if it's also happening to my audio :S
give it a try and let me know how does it go, this is how I placed my mic instagram.com/p/BQTDhZ9hPxE/?taken-by=kinano99
perhaps you try position another way it might help.
did it?
Just tried this with my Sony ax53, rode video micro, and essential ph-1 phone running the Sony Play Memories app for video and the static was very bad, totally unusable audio. Thanks for the heads up.
Hey.. That was really nice video liked concept and gonna try for my camera, but how do I use camera while charging ? I tried but it goes on charging mode...
thanks for the video! its great! some times I'm shooting in a places where is no Wi-Fi which I can't connecting my Sony 7s to my I phone! do you have idea if I can connect my camera with the I phone with out using internet?
can you show us the camera recording and working while charging? i know you cant record or use while charging, unless there was a firmware update.
cant find a video on how to make my iphone a camera monitor. Can you please send me one or link me. And also can u link me your iphone clamp your using on the camera to hold your iphone!
Good Efforts bro. I like your setup. Thank you for sharing. 🤗👍
Thanks a lot!
Any issues with the battery falling out yet?
Can you do a example of the quality?
Nice set up but only downside is you cant use a tripod with the way the battery pack is positioned. Any other place the battery could go?
Hello from Japan! Thanks for sharing such a amazing tips! I'm also debating to buy attachment like this and I wanna ask you one thing about the buttery. Is there any troubles after using it? e.g. bad connection, slow charging speed, etc. Anyway, really appreciated for uploading this vid!
Are you having any issues with the power bank setup like that? I was going to use one and connect it to a dummy battery.
is the shoe mount covered by the cage? If so , then that will be a problem, even if it covers the sides for an external monitor.
I'm new to all this, I'm wondering when you use your phone as an external screen, can you use the touch to focus. Im asking since I know the a6300 doesnt have a touch screen.
I wonder how stable it is during recording
Do you need to take out the camera from the cage if you need to replace batteries?
What about showing us how to use the iPhone as a display? Love your videos btw
Good job, btw, is that the lense's focusing noise I'm hearing??? Its very annoying...
Hello! I'm curious, I want to buy the Sony ECMGZ1M Gun/Zoom Microphone with this camera. Is there room for this add on while the cage is also on? Thanks!
This rig is sweet! I might set one up for my 6300, thanks!(:
Sure :) thanks for watching the vid
Do you know if i can hook up External battery, a monitor, and the Tascam 4 channel audio interface which would have to go on bottom, or the very small Sony XLR-K2M audio interface? and what small cage would you recommend? thank you for what you do!
Thank you for the Germanys links :)
sure :)
Can I connect a ssd drive to the camera to backup from my sd cards?
Thank you for shared😊
a couple months in how has the rig and the battery pack been working for you?
Have been thinking about doing this at Wiesn next month instead of bringing my gimbal to the tents.
There's no real replacement for a gimbal but the setup is good. Make sure to have a OSS/IS lens so footage is smooth :). The powerbank setup is great as well, as it can power many different things (monitor, smartphone, camera itself etc.) ..
somebody told me while shooting 4k camera and mobile screen turns black? its it true?
great rig set up....
Thanks sir!
Hi Maex, what app do you use to monitor your video on your phone?
Hello, I have a question for you that I have never found an answer to.
But since you have more experience of me with sony mirrorless maybe you know how to solve it.
When I use the app for the remote control of the camera (sony a6000), I forbid the video recording, I tried them all but it is still not possible.
So if you or anyone read this comment has a solution thank you so much in advance for the help :)
Noice video! You earned a sub for some reason XD
How can you charge AND film at the same time? Mine goes into mass usb storage
I think it depends on your USB cable, some send a signal that fools the camera. There is a USB setting in your camera settings which you can change on most of my Sony gear, not sure about the 6300
Gibt es da auch kein delay? von kamera zu handy??
Awesome setup. Gonna copy that in some way 😉 Does the camera has a mic input or do you use an external recorder?
Glad I could help :) The camera has a 3,5mm mic input - I forgot to mention that in the video (but I will make a second vid about placing the mic on the cage).
Nice setup! One question about your 6300. Do you have ANY slop between lens and mount? if you twist lens with bit of force, does it move even a bit?
Thanks! No it's not moving at all.
does it djent?
Can u get live feeed on phone?
What about audio?
Nice job!
thanks a lot!
How do you use your iPhone as the display? Wifi?
Yes! There's an app called PlayMemories by Sony, that you can download to use your phone as a monitor. You can also controll shutter speed, aperature etc. in this live view.
Thanks. Perhaps, you should make a video showing its usage. Some viewers may find it interesting and useful.
Sure! Thanks :)
But then you are a bit limited with the settings, right? You can't use any Picture profiles for instance?
yes PLZ!
How can you use the extern battery to charge the camera during recording of juist whennyou turn it of?
during recording as well ;)
ik heb 2 powerbanks maar die werkte niet namelijk :)
So you can charge your A6300 directly with usb cable , without using Dummy Battery ?
I don't have a Dummy Battery!
Hey, I have a problem maybe you'll understand. I put the parts you recommded for the Komash Power Bank, Holder and Male-to-male pins. But, when I try to put things on my SmallRig for my A6500. Nothing aligns at all. I put it on and screw it on and everyhting is not ligining up. So the attachemtns are always of-center.
I see. Try to turn them extra tight. Or use other screws that can be used from the inside of the cage :)
Brilliant. Youre top gun.
Super cooles Setup!
brilliant
Good setup, only issue is that you can't mount it to a tripod og shoulderrig
true - but you can mount the power bank to the side and that way you have access to the bottom of the cage.
the only reason I placed it at the bottom was because the balance was better :)
ruclips.net/video/YEeKMKeHRKs/видео.html :)
no camera stabilizer :((
Hi, how long can you use the camera for with your 10,000mAh power bank? Thank you!
I think you can charge it about 5+ times :)
Everything is nicely setup. The only problem I can see is it's hard to mount on the tripod with external battery underneath.
Hi Richard! Thanks. That's definitely true. I'll talk about that in a separate video. Sounds good? :)
I've ordered that power rig already even if they are not able to mount on tripod. Looking forward to your solution to it.
And for audio???
I totally forgot to show how I put my Rode VideoMic Pro on the cage. There's a cold shoe on the cage that I use to simply place it on the top.
What do you plug the mic into if there is no headphone jack?
The microphone jack
the a6300 has a mic jack but the 6000 its predecessor does not :(
Yes it works with Android too I use it with a pixel 3
Is 4k really worth all this?
Yeah :)!
Ok fine! I bought the a6500
Yes
The external power bank is only for charging an internal battery. So while the camera is "on" you cannot really use the power bank.
The music is a bit ober the top for ghis rig😂😂 But awesome vid man👌🏼
:D
how would you use thephone as a screen? im planning to do this as well but idk how to use the phone as a screen on my canon rebel t6
I'm gonna make a video about it! But I'm not sure if it's possible with your camera. I only tested it with my Sony, but I think you can do the same with a Canon.
Daniel Oh hey, if your phone has USB OTG connectivity (this is only for Android), you can connect a cable to the camera and phone and buy an app like DSLR Controller and use your phone as a monitor, but I'm not sure if it works for video
good job! great idea. I#ll build the same setup 4 myself :-) Thx a lot
Sounds cool!
Geiles Setup! Aus welcher Region kommst in Deutschland?
Dresden :)
Nice! Grüße aus Halle (Saale) :D
Hi aus Baden Württemberg
Daniel Langenbach aus der schweiz 🇨🇭
Hello... good wishes to you...How about stabilization using this cage... ??? Thanks in advance ... Happy time.. SUBSCRIBED!!
with the powrbank can the camera be overheated?
Sony a6300 can tend to overheat
can you chare it while using it?
my a6000 can charge, but the camera cant be turned on while charging via usb
Don't think the 6000 allows it, but the 6300 definitely does
@@NattSorg oh yeah right, i search it online and looks like only newer sony camera (2015++) can do that, this is really useful feature in my opinion
thanks for claryfing it!
Where is the mic 🎤 bro ?
We are almost the same but the only difference is that i'm using canon 80d plus i'm not using power bank, i use camfi. To make my iphone 7 as monitor
What cage are you using?
Maex filmcity
Good video and you just gained and new sub :)
Thanks a lot Charlie :)
Maex Welcome! keep up the awesome work!
Can this cage be used on a gimbal?
depends on your gimbal
cool. thx
Hey bro... Can I use a gorilla pod as a stabilizer on a6300 with kit lens?
Sure!
thnx and does a6300 overheat after new flimware update?
Awesome setup on a budget , just goes to prove you don't have to break the bank to get a handy rig
Iphone for a display reverts video to basic settings and no manual settings.
That's not true. It's working fine and I can easily change all the settings.
Maex it does not revert to automatic settings and auto iso? Since when? This would be great news!! Last time I tried it does NOT allow use of S-log and goes to automatic iso and manual settings are disabled...?
That's true, but any other settings like ISO, shutter speed etc work fine for me.
What about the audio? For the rest is great !!!
I'm using a Rode VideoMic Pro but I honestly forgot to mention how I place it at the cage. I will make a separate video about that soon :)
How are you sending the image from the 6300 to your iPhone as a monitor?
David Martinez The camera connects to the phone with wifi
Thanks HBFilms. Is that an app you add to your iPhone so it can sense the wifi signal from the camera? That's pretty amazing.
David Martinez yes it's the sony PlayMemories app
Yupp! That's how I do it.
Is it only working with the a6300? I cannot do it on the a6000 i tried but i only can See a picture if im doing Photo. And charging camera while its on is only possible with a6300? Can i do it with the a6000?
How will you mount it on a tripod?
You can also mount the power bank on the side of the setup. this one was for on-the-go with the hand-grip
@@SketchappTV thanks for the reply man. i also got one more solution. I'm using two cheeze plates. one on top and one on bottom and sticking them with the powerbank. good sollution.
Why you don´t use microphone ?
I actually use one :) I'm going to make a seperate video about this very soon - sounds good?
This video has a great audio, but i noticed that your rig didn´t had a microphone hahah
Just fiddle it in
I would have attached the power bank to the side of the rig, so you are able to use a tripod
Exactly :)
why arent you using a mic ?!?
"It's not the Smallrig cage, it's the _________ cage which is $10 cheaper.." Then at the 2:10 mark it IS all of a sudden the Smallrig cage ?! Which one is it ?!
The cage is from Andoer. The hand grip is from Smallrig. I didn't say anything like that at 2:10?
Sorry, it was at 1:53/54... You say, "this is the Smallrig cage..."
Upps. Sorry for the confusion. It's the Andoer cage, but they're actually the same. The Smallrig is just a bit more expensive.
I suggest u to change lens
Which lenses do you recommend?
Maex sigma 30 1.4 is great
This is nice if you shoot at lower angle, waist height. What about if you have to lift it up at your eye level. ??? Not useful any more.
Now the cage is 10 dollors more than small rig cage
"on a budget" my full setup with this camera costed me almost 4 racks.. LOL
Invest in a better lens first!
The kit lens is quite solid for the start :)
fiddle it in (that's what she said)
could have been great but: no picture profiles, no touch AF in movie mode = useless
No audio, no tripod capabilities. guess it depends if you need that
