FAQ's:
Q: Does this video apply to my issues?
A: This video is for computers with no signs of life that appear 'dead'. It will also help if you see minimal signs of life such as lights only or some hard drive / fan sounds but they stop right a way. If you are able to see anything on the screen at any point or if the hard drive / fan sound remain on, your issue could be something else. Leave me a message with your exact symptoms and I can direct you to the correct video :)
Q: I have tried all the steps seen here without identifying the issue :(
A: If, after all these steps, you have not been able to find the issue, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. I would start troubleshooting each component, starting with the charger and power jack. You can see those two videos here; • How To Test your Lapto... & • How to Fix Test Power ... . You can also try replacing other components like your Power Button to see if that is the route cause. If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement.

I spilled water on my keyboard, and stupidly didn’t clean out the water that got inside it. And now some keys don’t work and some keys type multiple letters at a time. To put it simple, some keys don’t do what their supposed to do and others do more than their supposed to do. I’m thinking the keyboard is a lost cause but I at least want to know if it can be fixed.
I would try reseating the keyboard ribbon cable at both ends. Clean them if you can with a 70%-90% Isopropyl Alcohol solution. If that fails to help then yes, I would then replace the keyboard. Hopefully the liquid damage isnt further than that :)

major blocking fact is when I removed the internal battery and plugged in the charger,
there are no lights indicating that it is charging, but when I snapped the battery back,
the light indicating that it is charging is evident. What could this possibly mean?

My acer V5-573 laptop doesn't turn on without the help of the charger, even if battery is full. I have to connect the charger for a few seconds, disconnect it, then press power multiple times whilst the orange light flashes each time, until eventually the blue light comes on and the laptop turns on. If when pressing power button the orange light doesn't flash, i have to reconnect the charger again for a few seconds, disconnect it and try again. It's a new battery as well since I had to replace the old one that draining too fast. The laptop is almost ten years old. I have tried removing the main battery, I have tried removing the CMOS battery with no luck. I have checked the CMOS battery is giving 3 volts so it must still be full. I have tried a new CMOS battery too. Any other help?
1. Is the replacement battery a brand name Acer or a generic battery? In my experience, only about 65% of generic ones work well :(
2. Have you tried the steps seen here?
@@PC_Monkey it's a generic one with the same specifications as the acer one. When I contacted Acer, they said they no longer offer support to my model of laptop and they've discontinued services for it since its almost 10years old. I think this is so unfair. However when the laptop does turn on, the new generic battery is excellent and gives me the expected amount of power at an average 6 hours. My laptop model is Acer aspire v5-573 (not v5-573g, etc).
Yes I tried your steps, with no luck. Then when I took out the CMOS battery and main battery for a few minutes, then reconnected and powered the laptop with main battery and CMOS battery but without charger connected, it turned on.
Then when laptop when to sleep then I tried to turn it on again, I had to press power twice before it turned on with the blue light. However the screen remained black. I shut down the laptop, then when pressing power, the blue light blinked once, but the laptop does not turn on. Thereafter, when pressing power, the blue light does not blink at all.
🤔
K..
So I removed the internal battery and the computer came on completely...then died as I moved it. I have been able to turn it on at least once more..completely but it has died on its own within moments. I am wondering if I have isolated the problem ??? Would rather order a replacement vs handing over money and waiting forever for it to be fixed. Either way, ty for this progress as I had not attempted to turn it on w/o the battery inside.
Cheers!

Ok Ok, this sound me like a game RUclipsr, If the computer turns on after those tries that doesn't mean the machine is fixed, this eventually will happens again and again. electronically explained if this happens it is because there are components on the motherboard that are not working correctly (capacitors, diodes or in most cases the power manager)

Hi there! I have an acer aspire 7 and have had it for a while now passed down by my mom. For a year or two, it actually hasn't been working well with the battery probably so I had to connect it all the time to the charger.
Now, after leaving it on until morning UNPLUGGED but still on, it didn't work suddenly.
I tried plugging it in and continuously pressed the power button, but it only have me blinking blue light of the charger.
I have now tried removing the battery since I saw that you can use the laptop without the battery, but now it only gives me a sudden and quick light up keyboard and light that indicates its charging has lit up just as fast and sudden, but both of them shuts down just as fast too.
Whenever I try connecting it to a new socket it suddenly lights up again and shuts down.
Now i'm not sure what to exactly do 🤔

I can't access my battery on my Acer (model number N20C5). It was fine months ago when I was using it. Suddenly it just stopped turning on. I tried the tips in this video and nothing. I can't afford another battery if that's the issue.

I have an acer aspire 3 and I mustve left it in sleep mode. Opened it up and it made a hideous fan noise so immediately tried to shut it fown but the computer kept fighting me. Forced a shutdown although remember seeing a program called something-wolf was preventing shutdown before finally the thing turned off. Except now it won't turn on or acknowledge being plugged in, totally dead. Tried the 1 minute button hold step.

Hi can I ask because, I used my laptop last 2 days ago. Now that I checked my laptop it wont turn on, and there wasnt a sign like “critical low battery” so i got scared. So all i had to do is to charge it, now when i charged it (whenever I charge the battery light turns on/red) But there wasnt any light. But as soon as i clicked the power button the light is blinking for 5 seconds. Idk what to do..😢
its acer btw

I know this video was awhile ago but can you still help? My brand is acer and the model # is N16Q13. The screen randomly went black, nothing will come up on the screen, and the charging light won’t turn on.
If the screen is black, what are the signs that the computer is actually turning on? Have you tried the steps seen here in this video?
