I am CRYING with relief. My laptop is 2 weeks old and just gave up but I followed this video and fixed it in the BIOS, which is nothing short of a miracle. Thank you!
No Boothbay Device I have tried the things you talked about for my Acer laptop but I am still getting the error is there any way you can check to see if need to change something
@THE VIDEOGRAPHY PRODUCTIONS After a liquid spill, you want to first make sure the computer is 100% dry. You would turn your computer off immediately by pressing and holding the power button until the computer turns off. Then you would disassemble the computer as much as your comfortable with, at least trying to remove the bottom case. Then you would turn it on its side and let dry for a couple days. Have you done this yet or are you sure the computer is dry?
@THE VIDEOGRAPHY PRODUCTIONS You should first make sure the computer is dry. Liquid can keep damaging components until its dry. That would be your first step. Then, turn the computer on and see what happens. We can go from there.

I liked the video before trying any of the solutions because I just love how you explained everything. Tried the bios thing first as it was the easiest and I'm lazy, time was right,changed it to legacy and it works! No idea why but Thanks a million!

I have a 2013 Acer Aspire V5 that is like my comfort food...the keyboard is just the right size, the screen is perfect...anyway, I was worried it had finally died forever, but your video brought it back to life! You're an actual pc god dude. I was literally just booting up my laptop to transfer all the files i had from over ten years ago from it because i was worried it would die and then i got that message. My heart sank and i was about to cry when i looked it up and saw your video. In the end i fixed it by switching to legacy mode. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, you're an actual lifesaver! I dug out an Acer computer and dusted it off to see it if works. Of course not! Google led me to this video. I have to say this is probably one of the best tech support videos I ever watched and I watch a lot of them nowadays lol. Only problem is on the boot screen when I try to switch "boot mode" from "UEFI" to "legacy"... there is only "UEFI" and no other options. I'm unsure what to do as my error message is still there. Thank-you for this! I was panicking because I turned on my laptop yesterday and got the 'no bootable device' message. After messing around with the settings (I had no UEFI or Legacy option) I've managed to repair it by playing with the 'enable/disable' settings in the 'security tab'. Not sure how it worked, but it did. Thanks for your help, I would never have known what to do without you and I live very rurally so taking it to a tech would have sucked!!
@amishadiggi8324 Sorry, but I don't recall the exact things I changed. I just know that I went into the security tab and messed around with things (always making a note of the settings beforehand so I knew what did and didn't work). After about 10-15 attempts and restarts it worked. I've heard repeatedly restarting the laptop can also sort it, but I'm no expert. Sorry I can't be of more hekp. I hope you get the problem fixed.
@@PC_Monkey ok😊 but My battery has actually been bad for quit some time now. ? I have tried anything. Un/re plugging the hard drive. Made sure it doesnt seem as anything is loose. Tried changing to Legacy. Could it be my "extra" battery ?(cant remember what its called now) But the time and date are working just fine.

OMG I unplugged my HDMI and my wireless mouse and it frickin worked.....Unplugged all your external devices, including HDMI cables and wireless keyboards and mouses. You rock.

I had just cloned my hard drive to an identical notebook but the machine gave me "no bootable device." All I did was disable Legacy boot and it booted up properly. So thank you so much.

Look for UEFI in the boot tab... My BIOS on my ancient H55 mother board doesn't show boot configuration. But shows UEFI with an enable or disable option. I set it to enable and it worked.
@@PC_Monkey omg. This thing keeps doing this and now it is having issues even giving me a screen when I try to restart. This all just started happening after I downloaded WOW to play on this laptop. It’s an acer that my son added memory to and also swapped to a SSD drive. Haven’t had any issues whatsoever till this. Any suggestions to get it back to a bootable/readable screen? If I can get it restarted I will run system check and delete the game. Thanks

My "No Bootable Device" problem, comes and goes (When it happen, I need to restart my laptop a few times dan back to normal). Any advice on this kind of problem? Is this more on hardware problem?
Sometimes Legacy is set as CSM. Can you see CSM? If you cannot locate the options to switch between or if switching does not work, then skip that step and continue with the rest of the video :)

All BIOS are different. Some require you to use the tab keys, arrow keys, etc. If you cannot find anything that works, try an external keyboard or mouse :)

it's 2024 and my first laptop came across this error and I am by no means a techie, so this was such a HUGE HELP, the way you explained was easy to understand and easy to follow! some steps needed comprehension on my part because we have different models but this was truly a life saver! Thanks!

Just to update I've managed to sort the problem, so it'was the hard drive seemed loose after plugging it back to secure it pleased to say it worked.not bad for someone who struggles with the most basic of tasks in all things technology..your superb thankyou
Oh my!! THANK GOD IT WORKS!! 😭🙏🏻✨ THANK YOU SO MUCH! The first one didn't fixed it but still followed the next one and then it was fixed 😭🙏🏻✨. I spent money to ugprade this laptop months ago and then after not being able to use it for a while that seems eternity (2/3months maybe?), it suddenly says "no bootable device" when I started it. I really need this right now since I'm back to school after a SY Break and badly need to use it for programming subjects 🤧✨

I cannot THANK YOU enough. You are an absolute lifesaver. I barely know the first thing about computers but I followed ur steps and changing the UEFS to that other type solved the problem. I took my computer to Best Buy yesterday and they said it crashed and there was nothing they could do. Now you got me up and running, today so now I can get all my info off. Hey Jamie! Your advice on how to remove the hard drive and ram and then just put them back in worked perfectly!! It hadn't been booting up for over a week and while I tried a few things that seemed obvious, nothing worked. Look for UEFI in the boot tab... My BIOS on my ancient H55 mother board doesn't show boot configuration. But shows UEFI with an enable or disable option. I set it to enable and it worked.
Will not allow year to change.

@@PC_Monkey omg. This thing keeps doing this and now it is having issues even giving me a screen when I try to restart. This all just started happening after I downloaded WOW to play on this laptop. It’s an acer that my son added memory to and also swapped to a SSD drive. Haven’t had any issues whatsoever till this. Any suggestions to get it back to a bootable/readable screen? If I can get it restarted I will run system check and delete the game. Thanks

My "No Bootable Device" problem, comes and goes (When it happen, I need to restart my laptop a few times dan back to normal). Any advice on this kind of problem? Is this more on hardware problem?

All BIOS are different. Some require you to use the tab keys, arrow keys, etc. If you cannot find anything that works, try an external keyboard or mouse :)
My up and down arrows wouldn’t work until I created a supervisor passcode under the Security tab

Just to update I've managed to sort the problem, so it'was the hard drive seemed loose after plugging it back to secure it pleased to say it worked.not bad for someone who struggles with the most basic of tasks in all things technology..your superb thankyou

Oh my!! THANK GOD IT WORKS!! 😭🙏🏻✨ THANK YOU SO MUCH! The first one didn't fixed it but still followed the next one and then it was fixed 😭🙏🏻✨. I spent money to ugprade this laptop months ago and then after not being able to use it for a while that seems eternity (2/3months maybe?), it suddenly says "no bootable device" when I started it. I really need this right now since I'm back to school after a SY Break and badly need to use it for programming subjects 🤧✨

Thank you so much. Water spilled on my laptop (it was in my bag with an open water bottle) and I got this notification. I'm happy my laptop is working again. You still can see the spot of the water in the screen, but hopefully I can fix it in a computerstore.
