Crumbs ... Face to face with PH-BQH again but in a slightly different livery from when I last saw it in June 2006. Flew on PH-BQH when it carried the name 'Hadrian's Wall' but in KLM standard c/s and not this KLM Asia c/s on June 3rd 2006. Was on board KLM566 Nairobi (Kenyatta) to Amsterdam (Schiphol) before the Boeing 747-406 was reassigned to this route and it sure was a bumpy one! Thermals falling over the Western Desert forcing us up to FL 380 or 38,000 feet where the bumps continued to persist was the best bit. But then after crossing the Med and an absolute KILLER view of Athens at 01:45 local time as we overflew the bumps started again due to thunderstorm activity below. All in all this flight left me with a rather nasty one known by us airline crew (I'm a pilot by trade and now fly the B772ER) as 'The Rocks' if enough turbulence rocks your world for long enough. It's acute irritation of the inner ear mostly. Felt nauseous and as if the bed I was resting in was actually in flight for two days afterwards: Worst case I have ever known and it wasn't me 'driving' on that occasion either!!! :o)
Great clip. In August I flew on KLM Boeing 777-200 from IAD to AMS my USB didn't charge at all. Same thing to a connecting flight to Kilimanjaro another KLM Boeing 777-300. Not sure what was wrong with my USB cables. Tried Apple's USB as well. Asked flight crews. Couldn't help me. 🤔🤔
The USB ports at these planes often don't charge, they tend to sustain your battery. This is because of a lower electrical throughput.
