Nice but you step it up a little and buy you some QSC speakers and a Mackie Mixer to make your setup a little easier.. cut some of all that in half! I have been doin karaoke for 30yrs and have the easy setup. I have around 300.000 songs
Actually, I only used this setup a couple of times when I did my Family Get Together. The few times I did it publicly. The client added Karaoke to one of my DJ Packages. So I had my SX2 controller, Yamaha Mixer, Shure wireless mics, and EV’s ELX speakers. I was just trying out a small setup that I could pack in a couple bags for a small house party.
Hi Elsie. The TC Helicon is a vocal effects unit you can use in a vocal performance (the computer has nothing to do with it - so it doesn’t matter what laptop you use with it). It’s made to hook on the side of a skinny mic stand, where you plug your microphone into it, and plug a cord into the output slot from the back of the effects unit into a speaker of some sort. The singer is then able to hit a variety of vocal effects & EQ preset buttons to enhance their vocal performance. Think of it as an equivalent to how guitar players in a Rock Band having a bunch of floor stomp boxes on stage to create different guitar sounds in a concert when they step on the pedals. The TC Helicon functions the same way but for singers. But getting back to your question, you can use it with any computer because not dependent on a computer device. But it’ll sync with any mobile device I believe when you use the phone app with this device.
Why does he have to "take it to the next level?" I use only my laptop and have the best audio software out. If your good enough at what you do, then why should you "next level?" You need to step outside the box you're in!
Hi @verlica1, I’m using Karafun on my MacBook Laptop, Sony GTK-XB60 party speaker (or my ELX speaker or my Harbinger Column Array Speakers when I’m DJ’ing a gig), a small flat screen tv mounted on an auxiliary music stand, with my Shure wireless DJ mic (not shown in the video), and lastly I’ll also use whatever dj controller I’m using at my gig, but using a controller isn’t necessary if you can connect your microphone to a speaker. I hope this answers your question.
@@theHitmanDDub I appreciate the reply brother. I ended up finding it and got myself one. It's just such a perfect size and helps keep everything compact and minimal. Thank you again! Loved the video and a great frame of reference that helpede set up my mobile set up.
No, as long as you have your Karaoke files stored on your computer. Just point Lyrx to the folder where your songs are located. Also, I looked at the Party Tyme site and saw that this site lets you buy and download karaoke tracks. I didn't see where you could stream songs directly from the site. So you wouldn't need a subscription like Karafun, unless there's a small print that I missed in regards to using Party Tyme Karaoke files.
@@theHitmanDDub thanks man think I’m gonna take the plunge and buy it , have a gig coming up in June , they want Karoake , trying to figure out the best way to integrate , thank you for your help ...I’m a DJ and have Serato where do you get the karaoke files ? And do you need Kara .
Yes you would. This set up was meant for a family house party. I use my regular DJ Set up with my EV Speakers and Sub, 2 Shure Wireless Mics, Karafun Karaoke Software, and the Flat Screen seen in this video when I do Karaoke as an Added Package Item to my regular DJ Event Packages. I wouldn’t dare show up to a paid gig $$$ with this system.
Strong Velcro holds well, but heat weakens adhesive over time. A VESA mount with drilled holes worked better.
Nice presentation. You made it simple and minimize what you need to purchase instead of buying a whole lot of unnecessary stuff.
Thank you for thisvideo
Sounds great.
thank you sir, this was great, I love the explanation, gotta check out your other videos =)
You're Welcome. Glad it was helpful!

Nice presentation. Can I use the TC Helicon using an HP laptop instead of a Mac?

Hey how do I add Kara fun or have Lyrx find a folder with my songs ?
You have some decent equipment.....but, no mixer and one speaker....you ain't doing large gig with that Brother. Man,take that to the next level.
Why does he have to "take it to the next level?"

We are starting out…. What mixer works well with the Mulkaey
I'm not sure what a Mulkaey is?

Thanks Jose.
what software do you recommend for spanish songs?

How can you 2 mics going at once
I used an external 6 channel mixer.
Do you need a party time subscription to use songs on lyrx?

With all do respect, if I showed with this setup I would get laughed out of the venue...

Agreed, but I guess for a family party or get together with friends, this would do..
