I was fortunate enough to see this the week it opened and this is by far one of my favorite 11 o'clock numbers. RIP to Dick Latessa and warm thanks to Harvey Fierstein for a wonderful show!
@@manuelorozco7760 I appreciate you not reading how I originally had a seizure while trying to write other. Plus thanks for showing me its not just me who feel like this.
aidan averbeck If I did Hairspray in high school, I would have preferred to play Wilbur. Edna is too demanding for me to terms of laughs and a legacy of men who had the pleasure of going from a stubborn house mom to an outgoing stage mother.
BREAKING NEWS: Dick Latessa just passed away today at the age of 87. So sad. So luck I got to see you as Wilbur live on Broadway. Hairspray was only my 2nd Broadway show. You were always TIMELESS TO EVEREYONE!!! RIP
DieHardAlien No not at all I was just saying. Martin and Harvey will make a fabulous good parental unit for the newcomer to play our beloved heroine Tracy.
@@manuelorozco7760 I respect his courageously bright talent as a positive role model to everybody and a brilliant writer of Broadway, particularly Torch Song Trilogy and La Cage Aux Folles.
Rene Astle I never seen Torch Song but La Cage Aux Folles yes with George Hamilton as Georges and Christopher Sieber as Albin/Zaza. And La Cage is as beautiful of a musical as Hairspray. Around the time I saw La Cage, I was getting more comfortable with gay pride and my brother came out of the closet.
No wonder Marissa Harvey and Dick took home Tonys for being the Turnblad family tree! These guys really got the chemistry down and it was hilarious.
It runs in the family. They both did very good portraying the characters. Harvey is no exception, paying tribute to Divine.
Yeah but I prefer the NBC Hairspray Live cast in 2016 with Maddie Ballio, Harvey Firestien and Martin Short!
@@Louis_Adams I do too

I Know Where I've Been is the 11 o clock number for the show
One of the sweetest songs ever. It makes me tear up every time.
Ya see, they don't kiss at all during this scene but you still get the fact of how much they truly love each other
Rainbow Phoenix I didn’t need the kiss as long as it was believable

Rainbow Phoenix Your Welcome And no harm done
truly a great moment on stage
I just got cast as Edna in one cast and Wilbur in the other for my studios production of hairspray, very excited
aidan averbeck That’s pretty surreal
Manuel Orozco it was a very cool acting experience. Two very different characters. I loved playing both of them but I have to say edna was my fav

I just got cast as her too!
I would kill to be part of a hairspray production !
This is couple goals
R.I.P., Dick Latessa. You will always be the true Wilbur Turnblad!

Michael I. Haber Hairspray was my 2nd full length musical production as well
I just think this song is so precious, I love it!
Harvey is a marvelous performer!
You've got to be great to hold an audiences attention when your performing "in one" like this.
The original and the greatest!
+hugybearmd Too bad Dick Latessa won't be in Hairspray Live on NBC because Harvey Fierstein is being paired up with Martin Short.
+Manuel Orozco Problem?
DieHardAlien No not at all I was just saying. Martin and Harvey will make a fabulous good parental unit for the newcomer to play our beloved heroine Tracy.
+Manuel Orozco Ok. Sorry if it sounded like I said that in a negative way. I was just curious about what you meant by the statement you said above.
DieHardAlien Forgiven I was just saying too bad for the heck of it.
Precious ♥️
Harvey shared this on both of his social media accounts for a remembrance and especially at 0:45
Harvey was sensational in Hairspray LIVE
@@manuelorozco7760 He is now and forever timeless to us.
Rene Astle Amen because seeing him play Edna for the first time in my life made that night all the more special

My left ear had fun!
Aweee
Nina West did Harvey just when he did this on the tour!
Harvey Fierstien & Dick Latessa? John Travolta & Christopher Walken? Or Harvey Fierstien & Martin Short? .. What Duet Song It Better?
Selena Forever Harvey & Dick. I’m a little bummed Harvey & Martin didn’t have time to do the extended dance break
Michael Ball & Mickey Dolenz
incredible love love it.vinny .a
if dick didn't pass away at age 87, he probably would have played Wilbur again on NBC hairspray live
