    Any idea why the rear wheels are set inside more? There must be a reason.

      So i was wrong on my video, i should redo it. I did correct the info in the description though. The stock unit comes with 11" wide tires in the rear and 9 in the front. So, naturally, the rear is setup a bit different. A lot of people will go to a square (same size all around) setup at 10" wide like i did. That puts the fronts 2" wider than the rear. Some guys will run spacers in the rear to get it to match the front. Dlfor me, the width is wider than stock and im ok with the wheels and tires not sticking out a lot throwing mud and rocks. The advantage to same size is i can rotate them and i can also use only a single spare to fit any corner.

    Looks good. How are the tires holding up and how are they on hard pavement? Are they a good overall, medium mud, trail tire? What size tires were your stock ones -26"? How much tread is left?

    the Yamaha "big tire kit" is 14 gram weights for the X4. way too light.

    Did you notice any power loss, going with 28’s on 14’s? Also, how do those tires handle in the sand? I have the exact same model as you but hate the factory tires.

    • @nickrendo
      @nickrendo  3 года назад +1

      Slight change in power and steering feel. I don't have a lot of sand where i live but they have been great in snow, mud, and dirt

    Could you explain the difference from the motoclaw and motohammer tire? Why did you choose the claw? I’m wondering in hard pack trail riding if the hammer would be better?

    • @nickrendo
      @nickrendo  3 года назад

      Im not to sure the difference. I think the moto hammer is for different terrain

    • @nickrendo
      @nickrendo  3 года назад

      I chosecthe claw because i thought it would fit most of the riding terrain i do (snow, wet, steep, rocky, dirt roads, etc.) I havent done a clutch kit yet, but, i will go with the Weller Racing setup

    Looking to do wheels and tires on my X2, is the 63" in the front and 61" in the rear a corrected measurement after the video? Reason I ask is i'm trying find the perfect offset to do the smallest wheel spacer in the rear to make the track width the same front and back so its completely square, correct me if im wrong but with a true 10mm offset wheel you would only need 1in wheel spacers in the rear then to accomplish this? Thanks, the X4 looks sweet!

    • @nickrendo
      @nickrendo  3 года назад

      Yes, i should have checked again before the video as i was going off of memory and screwed it up.
      63" front outside width
      61" rear outside width.
      Because of the 2" difference a 1" wheel spacer would be nice but i think 1 1/2" is the common size. So, i left it as is. It pushes out of corners a bit but when you slide its really controlled.

      @@nickrendo Thanks for the info, these aftermarket companys dont make it easy trying to figure out this stuff, yamaha being straight forward with that wheel off set of 10mm is nice, most common wheels for these (4/3 & 5/2) are not even close to there true offset and for what they cost it a costly guess trying to get the right stance!

    Do you need to put on the clutch kit with the bigger tires or will it be just fine without? If you don’t mind me asking what did you pay for those tires and rims?

    • @nickrendo
      @nickrendo  3 года назад

      You dont need a clutch kit, no. Rums just fine without. But, i would like to get a little more snappy throttle, top end back a bit, and lower cruising rpms. Thats the main reason. I don't remember on cost of the wheels and tires. I want to say 1400 from Yamaha. Then i got 10% military discount.

    How are the tires after using them for awhile?

    • @nickrendo
      @nickrendo  3 года назад

      They are pretty dang good. I have 2 that go flat in my garage in time. The tires are really stout and taking them on rocky nasty stuff doesnt phase them. Snow and mud traction is pretty good. A little loose on hard pack dirt roads. Slightly out of balance but not bad. Wear seems to be pretty good and the tires are just soft enough for good grip but not to soft.

    I wish Yamaha had made the tire track at the same width because in snow this machine does not ride very nice.

    • @nickrendo
      @nickrendo  3 года назад

      Yes, it seems to push the front a little in dirt and more noticeable in the snow. It may be worth some wheel spacers. But, when i play and slide her sideways i feel like i have great control
