Thanks Renee! I'm going i a different direction with some different ones coming out in the summer with some street interviews that I'm working on at the moment - hopefully they will both educate and be enjoyable to watch!

Yeah it's just how we're wired unfortunately - so it does require going against our programming to do this which is hard - but insomnia is harder!

Love your content ❤ I’m living proof CBT-i works. Life was totally encompassed with sleep issues. Only two weeks in, and i see a huge improvement. Negative thought patterns are still something to notice and put aside, but I’m willing to put in the work to get my life back.

Really glad it is helping and so quickly! Yes you can rebuild your pattern of sleep / strengthen and make your sleep drive more regular and predictable and start seeing concrete improvements literally in weeks.
But it's the thought patterns that take longer, but you need first to see improvements before the thought patterns start to change in my experience.
But yes, patience, consistency self kindness )good enough - not perfection!) and slowly those old ways of thinking get replaced and eventually you just stop caring and thinking about sleep at all. No one gets there in 2 weeks, but you are on the right path!

Totally agree with needing to see improvements before your brain can consider that there’s nothing wrong with your innate ability to sleep. I’m expecting the journey to take months, but am willing to put in the behavioral changes, and stop fighting myself or being so self critical. You’re also right that sleep restriction is tough. It’s been a fight, but we all need to hang in there. We can get through it and start seeing improvements.

How does one tell the difference between a true physical issue and insomnia / sleep anxiety. I recently had dental surgery and was put on amoxycylin, an antibiotic. I was actually sleeping well post surgery but after starting the antibiotic today I find it difficult to fall asleep. How do you know when it's your mind vs biology? 😢

Hi, so there is a very very big difference between insomnia and a short term sleep problem.
There could be a number of reasons why a short term sleep problem has been triggered following dental surgery, if you are experiencing pain for example and yes one of the side effects of amoxicillin can be poor quality sleep.
Insomnia however is obsession, control, fear of the bed and the bedroom, 1001 things to force yourself to sleep, 1001 things to protect your sleep, changing your behaviours to try and increase the likelihood of sleep (IE spending long and longer in bed)
So what to do, nothing - stick to the old behaviours you used to do before you had this short term sleep problem.
Get up at the same time, go to bed when sleepy - don't fall down the rabbit hole of obsession, control and worry and trying to fix the problem. You will come off the tablets, the pain will go away and as long as you just go back to doing EXACTLY what you were doing when you were sleeping well you won't develop insomnia.
Short term sleep problems are normal. This too will pass. Please don't turn it into something it doesn't need to be!

Hi Bobby, if you visit my website: sleepze.com you can learn more about my step-by-step course and also see my email address where you can contact me for questions.
I would write my email address out here, however the spam bots will pick it up and it would cause a lot of junk emails.
