Interesting, I was thinking industry vs. inferiority because that one also includes peer relationships as being important. I get those three mixed up because they all seem to do with self confidence. Your program has been helpful!
@@TDCExamPrep Wait, isn't the answer Intimacy vs Isolation? It's not included as an answer choice but it aligns with both the problem and his age group
Based upon his age and not letting anyone get close to him why isn’t the answer initimacy vs isolation? I take my test 10/21 and now even more confused.
I don't think your rationale is very clear as to why autonomy vs shame is a better choice than industry and inferiority - especially since his sense of uncertainty has to do with perceived incompetence which could be developed during the school years. When you add in the element of hesitancy to form relationship bonds, there is more evidence of shame/doubt, but I think the question is written in a way that is more tricky than what you might actually find on the exam...
I agree, instead I chose industry vs inferiority . I hope the test would not make the answers so tricky. Wish I'm due to sit 03/17/2021. I think I'm ready, but this question threw me for a loop :(
Hi Francesca! So part of the Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt stage is developing autonomy, which leads to a sense of self-assurance as an adult, which we do not see with this individual. He also feels uncertain about his abilities and that he'll be exposed as a fraud-this is him doubting his abilities. It's not that he isn't competent and doesn't have abilities-it's that he doesn't trust himself in those things. If it instead presented a scenario where it described him failing to succeed at work and feeling a lack of confidence in his work (and left out feeling like he was going to be exposed as a fraud), this could be industry vs. inferiority. In terms of the first stage, this is all about learning to trust others as an infant's basic needs are met. When their needs are met, they gain a sense of security in the world and trust those around them. So if someone failed this stage, you may see them very suspicious and untrusting of others and those around them. The third stage, initiative vs. guilt, is when children go out and explore things on their own. If they are encouraged in this and accomplish tasks on their own, they develop initiative to do things independently. If they fail to do so and have to regularly ask for assistance from others, they may develop a sense of guilt as they go through life.
Unfortunately we don't have a program specific to the Bachelor's Exam, however our Masters program may work for you. If you are interested in learning more, email us at help@therapistdevelopmentcenter.com and we'll connect you with the right person.
This is incorrect. Erikson stages are also based in age. Autonomy v shame and doubt is toddler phase and learning to do things on your own without being coddled (i.e feeding, dressing, and other basics) autonomy v shame is ages 18 months to 3 years
Hi there! These are designed to be supplemental support to people who are studying for their licensing exams, but perhaps we can go into it more detail on future blogs / videos. However, we do offer a full program which you can find on our website that will give you a much more in depth preparation. We're at www.therapistdevelopmentcenter.com

I thought the same. I get stumped on these questions.
Awesome, I can see why "C" was the correct answer. Thanks for the tip.
