  • I purchased this Kioti CK3510SE HST tractor in October. It had 10 hours on it (brand new) from the dealer. At the time of this video, there was 85 hours on it. So consider this the 75 hours review! Is this one of the better compact tractors?
    We go through an overview, a review, highlights of the machine, and the problems I have had. Enjoy!

    Nice video. Just like you, I noticed when the regen starts on my CK4010 the light does not come on for about 1 min after it starts but I can tell it has started the process by the way the engine sounds. I’ve had about 10 to 12 regens in 338 hrs and they all work perfectly. I notice no loss of power. Keep the videos coming.

    Liked your review on the Kioti ck3510. Their awesome tractors, I bought a J.d.3025e in 2018. The only reason was the dealership was 45 minutes from verses Kioti is a good two hours. My brother bought a used 35 hp Kioti with a backhoe and loader. He loves it. Its probably 12 to 15 years old and still runs great.

    I got my CK3510SE in 2019. I also disliked the right hand brake pedal. I was used to using John Deere compacts that had left hand brake pedals. After doing some research up behind the dash. I discovered I could add a left hand brake pedal. I now have left & right brake pedals & love it that way. I have not noticed any issues with the engine.

    Man, I'm with you on the Fwd / Rev pedals being separate. I love that! I test drove a Kubota and hated the rocker pedal. I, too, have a 2020 CK3510SE HST. I love it. I got the backhoe on mine and it has some amazing digging power. The only issue I've had with the tractor happened just yesterday. I have NO IDEA what caused it: I'd been working the loader pretty hard for three hours straight with the RPM's set at about 2,700 (not linked). When I was all done with the loader work, my tires were full of mud, so I decided to do some mud-slinging before putting it away.
    I drove out onto the paved road that goes by the front of my house. It's a small county road and nobody is ever on it. I engaged the linked pedal, put it in 3rd (high) gear and drove about 1/4 mile as fast as I could. It was throwing mud everywhere, which is what I wanted. I got to the end of my run and turned around for a final run back to the house. I had just gotten back up to speed and the damn thing STOPPED. It was as if someone turned off the key. The engine just quit running and I came to an instant stop in the middle of the road. I got off and did a slow walk around. I lifted the hood. I checked the water level and engine oil level. Both were fine. It seemed hot, yet it didn't smell quite right because it was not the smell of antifreeze or hot oil. Rather, it smelled oddly of rubber. I checked the belt and all the hoses and the wire loom. Nothing was amiss.
    "No big deal", I thought. I'll just restart and go. Except, it would not start. In fact, it would not even turn over. The starter engaged, but would not turn the engine. That seemed very much like a badly over-heated engine that had seized. That me freaked out. I thought, "Damn, man. I only have 17 hours on my new tractor and I broke it! I sure hope it's a warranty issue!"
    It was nice and cool outside, about 58-degrees, so I waited about 10 minutes while I did some research on my phone. After that, I tried starting it again. This time, the starter would turn the engine over slowly, barely, but it would not fire. I went back to doing research on my phone while I waited several more minutes. I tried again. This time the starter would turn the engine over at full starting RPM, but the engine would not fire. It sounded "odd" as it was cranking. I cannot explain the odd sound, but it wasn't good. But at that point, considering I thought earlier that it had seized, it was a victory. A few more minutes of waiting and it turned over at full speed and the engine fired. Woo hoo! The engine actually started, then died a few seconds later. I repeated that with the same result, so I waited some more. This time, I got to watching a couple RUclips videos on my phone and it was nearly half an hour before I tried to start the tractor again. When I did try, it started right up as if there'd never been a problem. It fired on the first revolution and idled at normal RPM with normal sound. Call me stumped.
    I did another walk-around while it was idling. There was no smoke or steam or stink of any kind - not even the rubber I thought I smelled before. No squeaking or creaking. Nothing dripping. I was very relieved. I hopped back on and did my return 1/4 mile high-speed run in high gear. Zero problem. I drove into the tractor's parking spot in the shed and let it idle a bit. I tried different RPM's. No problem. It worked as if it was brand new. And that's it. I have not tried it today so I have no further update. I'm no diesel mechanic, but I am a relatively decent shade-tree gas engine mechanic. All of my senses told me that it had overheated. BADLY. Yet there was no proof of it, so I'm stumped. I'll see how it goes the next time I put it to work.

      That was a VERY through explanation of your delema. With Such low hours; No "Break-in" & FULL "maniac power" the tractor was just smarter than you and shut itself down before the "joy-rider" reduced it to junk. Bet you just "signed with your good credit" & drove away "Without A DIME in IT". Most likely the "Operator's Manual " is STILL IN the Wrapper. IF you take care of your machinery- it will take care of You! By "Flying" down the road "Slinging MUD" like a "mad-man" ; Tradagys are ALWAYS around the corner. By relying on a "warrenty" to fix "common sense " & Safty is just hilarious. My tractors only break when l do "stupid stuff" and that has NEVER HAPPENED with Thousands of hours.

    Bought this same model new July 2019. I have 230 hours on it now. I have the backhoe, rear scraper blade, front snow blade, grapple, and of course forks. I use the front loader and forks the most. The Kioti has worked really well in developing my 10 acre off grid rocky mountain property. There are many of my construction projects that I could not physically do without the power of this tractor. As I approached the decision of mini-excavator or tractor I was really torn...couldn't immediately afford both. Unloading trailers of materials and moving pallets around the property are very important and so the tractor won the decision. A wheeled tractor on my property's slopes make me really nervous...so a tracked vehicle sounds like it would be better from that stand point.

Bought a set of LHA Forks in 2021. I added the third function valve in 2022 for the front end loader. Bought a Grapple in 2023. Handy to use. Bought my CK3510 (non SE) in July 2020. I do not have the running issue you mentioned. Compared to Kubota, the Kioti lower price allowed me to get a backhoe and 3rd function valve. I now have a bit more than 350 hours. I do my own maintenance with kits from my dealer. Prefer to give them some business since they got me a great deal. I have since purchased a grapple, pallet forks, stump grinder, used tiller, already had a grooming mower and post-hole digger. Good friend has a box blade. My only complaint is moving the shift between L, M, and H is not as smooth as it should be. Takes a little peddle action to help. Except for this the tractor has been flawless and I love it. I will look at the bolts you mentioned. Hope you're still enjoying yours as much as I am mine.

    I've had my 3510SE for about 10 months, 110 hours to date. My regen occurs every 30 hours and I never run it below 1800RPM, so I don't think RPM has anything to do with regen, it's a timed event. I also notice an odd running condition at times, but typically prior to it getting to full operating temp. My regeneration experience is exactly like yours, light comes on after it starts to run erratic, so I know it's gonna happen. So far it's performed flawlessly and has done everything I've asked of it.

    I've had my share of issues with mine. Bought roughly the same time. Believe I posted a list of issues in a previous video. The biggest issue was how my dealership handled everything though. As for your lagged power, dont buy that this is normal. If I were you I'd insist that your dealer get to the bottom of that one. For the most part, my linked pedal is on/linked. Rarely have it off. I have not experienced that. And with all the troubles I've had, I would think I would have noticed this. I highly recommend the Kioti 3rd function. Love where the switch is located on their loader knob. Lastly, I have the HLA root grapple. Solid rugged design. I have 71 hours and I bet the grapple has been on the loader for 68 hrs. Good luck with the lagged power issue. Overall the CK3510SE is a very comfortable workhorse. I was not willing to dish out another 6-8k to get the same feature on a JD or Kubota. These two top brands need to be careful or theyll find themselves no longer on the mountain top.

Nut backed off because they didnt use a nyloc nut, Dif lever fell off because one of the hitch pins fell off, antifreeze hoses leaking, tires losing air and rim guard running all over my garage, front tire fell off was seated properly (according to my mechanic), can't recall if I said this before but the link pedal was linked all the time and had to go back to the dealer, ROP pins wont engage without using a hammer, grill guard pins are very difficult to pull out, it's useless in an amount of mud )my neighbor can go where I can't with his L series, on and on....How did you make out on your lagged power issue?

    I recently purchased a CK4210 which, I believe has the same engine, but is a couple years older. Mine is a 2018 and here in Australia, I think we only have one model, which has some of the same features as your SE, but not others. The dual rear auxiliary hydraulics is one feature that is standard here, and really sold me on this model. I would love to get a hydraulic cylinder for the 3PL just to make levelling it easier on the fly. Love the dual pedal action too, seems to just make sense and is the same on my mower.
    My engine does not stumble like you describe, it seems ready to go all the time. A little loud and 'knocky' while still cold, but otherwise pretty flawless. Mine also does not have the DPF, but I'm not sure that would have any effect other than when it's doing its thing... burning the particles...

    I've got a CK4010SE with around 35hours and it's never had engine stumble or regen. Talked exclusively to the Dealer (in depth) before I bought mine and asked specifically about the regen, he said he's never had anyone have problems with it. Looking at the owners manual I think it (and the Dealer) told me to always run it when working at full throttle which I do. I do mostly 3pt and loader work, land plane and box blade. I think running the tractor around at a lower RPM will bring on regen but like I said it's never done to me yet, hours/time will tell.

    I been looking at the Cab CK3510SE. It has a lot I like but watching many videos it seem Kioti has a lot of small problems. The nearest dealer is over 200 miles form me. I live in Northern Michigan. I have not checked to see if Kubota or John Deere will service a Kioti if I need it. Kubota and John Deere is only 30 miles form me. Big difference from 200 to 30 miles. I will be using what ever I get for Snow Blowing only. I live on hills and I mean steep hills. I have no flat land except where my hose and garage is and that was done when building the home. Here in Northern Michigan we get over 200 inch's of snow and at times almost 300 inch's. Our record so far is 297 inch's. I been looking at several makes and models. Even the Bobcat, Kubota, I want to get it this summer so I'm going to have to make up my mind. Money isn't really an option as they all are about the same price give or take a little. My main concerns are service if I need it, problems each have.

      For you, yes, Dealer should be one of the biggest factors. 200 miles is a long way. I almost got a Kubota, but couldn't get past the pdeal. JD makes good tractors too. By the way, Bobcat is essentially a rebranded Kioti.
      Houghton or Ironwood area? When you mention snow and hills, I think about those areas. The rest of the UP is fairly flat, relatively speaking.

    i like my ck2510. its a few years old with the treadle pedal. annoying but better than NOT having a tractor. the landscape rake and a blank skid steer plate with 3 point attachment is handy for using rear implements on the front. ie, the rake. What is the size of the shop?

    I just bought the 3510 se and am just getting used to it. One question I have is about the seat. When I used it the other day the tractor would shut off everything I got off the seat. I've run a lot of tractors (older) but I've never had one shut off when you leave the seat. That doesn't seem sense because you need to check things out front or using a pto. Does seat flip up to bypass safety switch?

    • @OutdoorsEngineer
      @OutdoorsEngineer  2 года назад

      The mechanism to keep the tractor running is to engage the parking brake and put it in neutral. You can get off then and the tractor will stay running. There is a sensor in the seat that you can disconnect and install a jumper wire to bypass the safety mechanism. I only did it to test but reverted it back. It's been 1.5 years and I am very used to engaging the parking brake and putting it in neutral. I don't mind engaging the parking brake as it prevents it from rolling when I get off.

    I have recently went to drive a kioti same model and you can’t curl the bucket and go up or down at the same time.... this may be the breaking point for me if I can’t pick up and curl bucket at once it is almost useless. Same with dumping and going down or up... am I missing something?

      It's possible. It just takes a little practice to find the right spot on the controls. Even the sticker says that there are those sweet combo spots. Just hard to hit and takes practice.

    I have the ck3510se and love it. Want a front snow blower for it. Kioti wants 7500 for it. A little pricey I think and they talk about mid mount pto that runs it. Think it's a bolt on after removing some cover kind of deal. Do you know any other way or generic brand that works.?

    • @OutdoorsEngineer
      @OutdoorsEngineer  2 года назад

      I'm sure you would need to get the parts for the mid-mount PTO from Kioti/Bobcat. The snow blower, there may be a chance you could go another brand. I don't know the details and am only guessing though!

      @@blessed7fold Yes, but you get more amenities with the CK3510SE than with the L3901 (Rear remotes, upgraded seat, other In-cab stuff). Plus the CK3510 is upgradable if you want to have a front PTO for a front snow blower - if you wish, compared to the L3901. Front PTO is only available on the LX, if I remember correctly from my research over a year ago.
