These Firewood Bags are the Best
Over the past 4 years, I have produced and sold over 1100 firewood bundles. The first couple of years, I used shrink wrap to make firewood bundles. Since May of 2023, I've been using Mesh Firewood bags along with the @WolfeRidgeSplitters Firewood Bagger. I was introduced to the best plastic mesh reusable firewood bag available, and they are now available for you to use! Visit outdoorsengineer.com to purchase your firewood bags today!

It's been almost four years since I purchased the Kioti CK3510SE and I've only had one 3-point attachment on it since - the carry all. It is finally time to make the change and add a box blade. We also added the hydraulic top link, which is a must!! This is how you install a hydraulic top link on a compact tractor. Plus, it is worth it to purchase the "better box blade." Such a Bad Time of Year for No A/C! Can I fix it?

The latter half of July has been extremely warm and humid. Dew points in the 60s - 70s with highs close to the upper 80s results in very sticky conditions. Firewood Business Game Changer - Finally Picked Up IBC Totes!
Просмотров 8334 месяца назад
IBC totes have been a hot topic for firewood business owners for a few years and I have been holding off. Mainly, they are too expensive. The typical market around here in Northern Wisconsin is anywhere from $50 - $80 each, which is too rich for my blood. I finally was able to get my hands a bunch of totes to use for my firewood business. They really are going to be a game changer! 🐦 Links: Web...

Hey thanks, looking to get a splitter soon and just wondering about the bark build up, I like the speed of the machine a lot, it’s the fastest of any that I have seen so far
For the price point, not much better you can get!
Do you get frustrated with the guide system they have for the wedge on the machine with all the bark build up ?
To be honest...I don't. I don't find it to be that big of deal to clean it out. After a round of splitting, I extend the wedge all the way, which is typically enough to get in and break that material loose. And a couple wipes down the hole and for the most part is cleaned up. A stick or screwdriver could help as well. Thanks for being here!
I do a little firewood but you show how to make it a real business!
Wouldn't it be wonderful to find a bag made of hemp to alleviate the caustic plastic. Good video
Thank you. Lot's of factors. I'm sure the poly propylene bags are great as they decompose in a few months.
From a consumers perspective, Different color bags for different products would be very beneficial. To alleviate mistaking one type from the other.
I went to bagging this year did about 12000 bundles
Wow!! That's a ton!
Look like good quality bags👍👍
Sure are!
Your dog is a firewood thief, I may be reaching out to you in the future because what I currently use fall apart in the sunlight.

Maybe attach a QR code to your firewood roadside stand for Venmo and Zelle or Apple/Google pay so your customers can pay you direct if they don't carry cash. This would also alert you to a purchase so you can restock during the busy season much sooner.
Hey! Not a bad idea about Zelle. I've had Venmo and Paypal for a couple of years now :)
Nice work Mitch!! You do nice work with the box blade. I wish I could be that efficient but I guess it's a learning process. Keep up the good work 👏
Really good video. I'm just curious, how to do prevent theft from wither the roadside stand or the money box?
@Kiran_UK I have a few cameras out by the stand, which I'm sure helps a bit, ruclips.net/video/ADYUidI6M_w/видео.html I also have a pretty strong pay box from The Honest Honor Box. I have had a person break in and steal about $40 in 2022, but at that point it was a cheap locking mailbox. Overall, people have been fairly honest. I'm only short $19 worth this year on almost $7000 in sales. It was worse in past years when I had the uglier pallet stand. This more professional looking stand i whole heartedly believe has contributed to doubling my sales and more honesty.
Nice job Mitch! That’s crushed granite, don’t think he’s able to get crushed limestone. The granite packs well but over time the sand just washes away.
Thanks! It's actually just regular gravel for our parts. Northern Wisconsin was run over by a couple glaciers a couple years ago, which deposited loads of river gravels and sands. That's our primary source for stone and gravel. Near Wausau, WI there's on of granite, both red and blue. I did a job a few weeks ago that was all red granite :)
I love this! Great content and commentary. I am a fan of driveway work,! Please share more!
Thanks, will do!
A land plane and a hydraulic top link really make for a nicer job. A hydraulic side arm would only add to the ease of the job! Tim in northern TN
It's on my mind! That would constitute another remote!
Great idea, but you're still picking up and moving the cut sections. I need to come up with a good way to build an extension so the cut sections can be rolled to the splitter?
Great idea! I've put some thought into your suggestion, and haven't figured out a way to make it happen.
Try best plans for woodworkers. WoodPrix.
Overall the preference over the long term should be huge. The pleated filter has a large increase in filter surface area. Further most of the dust and chips will never reach the filter that will remove dust too small to see. A quick blow down from the outside and the filter will be cleaned while sealed and the 5 gallon pail is easily emptied. The same sized Donaldson filter is much more affordable but because it is an air filter built for a truck is designed to filter from outside in and not inside out. This would mean that blowing to clean from the outside may not work as well
There's too many benefits to list going this route. It's been a couople years now and I'm still loving it.
Very nice job.
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice build. I like the smoke pipe for the exhaust 👍
Glad you like it. It works awesome.
As a Scandinavian I have always wondered why no one seemed to sell firewood in the small bags over there. Here its standard, you wont find plastic wraped wood over here. Although lately I have started seeing more and more places selling firewood bundles in small cardboard boxes, it much more space efficient.
Yes, those bags are mostly made from polyethylene which is UV resistant, but it NEVER biodegrades. It simply turns into microplastics and gets smaller and smaller. Useful stuff for the present, but terrible stuff for future generations. It is highly recyclable, which is one good aspect I guess. Box is way better.
Boxes are interesting. Great if they can be kept dry!
new subscriber here.... is that 4 way wedge an aftermarket piece?
It was an option directly from Tractor Supply for use on the County LIne Splitters
Howdy Mitch my friend, great video and boy could I use one of them on my Kubota. That is the right attachment for the job for many rear implements. I was looking at your carryall you have on the back of your tractor and how about you use your engineering skills to put a set of plans up on your site that we can buy from you? You had it on for a long time now and there are no doubt things you now know would be an improvement if you had to do it over again. That what we do, make things better. I really loved the 8’ bucking table plans, and I have not built it yet but your design plans are fantastic. As an engineer myself I always appreciate planning, attention to details and quality of the build. Thanks again for the video and BTW, love the OE sticker, it is perfect and will be in my shop soon on display. I am just looking for the right spot so everyone cannot help but see it!
@ericglaude4953 Thanks Eric! Nit a bad idea on the carry all! I really appreciate the feedback! I dont get a lot of it so it's nice to hear!

Sorry to see you leave (who is going to help me with all of my C3D issues now?!) but best of luck on new chapter. I discovered your RUclips channel about a month before you left, so excited to keep watching!
Just put a piece of duct tape over the CO2 monitor and you should be good.
It honestly hasn't been an issue :). Must be enough air flow and proper exhaust.
I've got a General 2hp with a Super Dust Deputy already installed. Works great. That Wynne filter looks nice. What is the rating? Do they make a HEPA? Cost? I know, lotsa questions. Excellent build and a great video. Thanks.
I'm not sure about the Wynne Filter. I believe the one I had is Merv 10. Check my description of the vid, I believe there is info. Check out more on the filters here: wynnenv.com/single-stage-collector/

The wood rack is nice.
Did you see my build video on those racks?
Nice shed. Your exhaust has quite of few bend, this will increase the backpressure on the machine. Predators are notorious for valve problems. You constructed a beautiful shed and placed a bottom of the line generator inside. Good video and best of luck to you.

@@royhubbard9075 For sure! So much work out there!
You do not need to find a hot wire/keyed power on the new (2020 and newer) Ford Super Duty trucks. It's built into the headlight plug in harness that T's into the plug in the passengers fender. The red wire on the control harness doesn't need to be used just for future reference.
For what it's worth, the 24 light harness install was much different than the 2022 light harness install. The 24 I had to go and connect to each headlight and to the T in the passenger fender. The 22, just connected in the T in the passenger fender. Not sure if the hot wire is affected though.
Well done. I follow Outdoors With The Morgans. Out of the Woods and now Outdoors Engineer. Maybe I like the outdoors. I live in Depere, somebody likes the Packers.

If you are in a uber wealthy market and have the types of firewood for smoking and heating, there is plenty of "meat left on the bone" to make re-selling processed firewood profitable. Re-splitting, proper seasoning, delivery, wheelbarrowing and stacking is how I add value to a low cost commodity. Great customer service is the last and main ingredient to firewood success. CL Nashville firewood for sale to see what I mean.
Customer Service in all of sales is the main ingredient in business success!

I have a Kubota MX 5400 no problems I have 325 hours
Was debating on buying this. However, your video told me to buy it. Thank you
I think for years the labour involved in processing firewood has went unappreciated especially for those who process from tree, to hauling by hand, bucking and splitting, transferring, stacking, loading and delivering. There were family who were trying to pay less for my cords of wood based on “not paying you for the wood but just for the labour”. I would tell them I sacrifice the cost of my labour to sell you the wood. If I were to charge you by labour, hours and product you couldn’t afford me.
It's kind of why I enjoy having logs delivered to my wood yard. Takes a lot of the work out of the equation for me.
Thanks for the great idea. I used it to make a 3 cord rack out of pallets. I tarped it for now. I'm now scavenging pallets of the size I liked the best (approx 4'x4'). Next year, I'm going to make another 3 cord rack beside the first one and put a lean-to metal roof over it all. I spent about $80, mainly for the tarps at Harbor Freight.
Awesome! They are nice to have!
Great vedio. It helped me a lot. Keep up the great work.
Thanks, will do!
