This is my favorite version.I'm incapable of listening to the others after having heard this one. The music builds so fittingly side by side as the speech progresses.
He was literally copying Hitler's method of giving speeches. Starting off quiet and slowly building to passionate shouting. And wouldn't you know it, it's a fantastic way of delivering a speech.
Wow, great catch! I actually didn't know that! Charlie Chaplin truly was a blessing talent and genius. His works and messages today still hold a powerful meaning that we as a humanity need to wake up and listen to.
The key is that he was emphasizing the disfunction of life under totalitarian extremism. He was an idealist. Imagine taking and implementing THE BEST of socialism and THE BEST of capitalism. That is UTOPIA. Not either/ or.... because either/ or is unchecked totalitarian extremism.
@@tsteves1 wtf are you talking about? He was literally a socialist and was persecuted and basically exiled from the US for it by J Edgar Hoover. @@truthseekerdude is not the goal of socialism the control of the means of production in a society? Or are you going only on the ideal of socialism apart from the practical reality?
