  • @zachgalifianakis2922
    @zachgalifianakis2922 2 года назад +4

    You’re supposed to use the same oil which is Honda specific, GN4 10w-30 for engine and transmission and there’s a check hole below your water pump

    • @adambergen7250
      @adambergen7250 2 года назад +1

      The manual says to use the same stuff, but in a bike with separate engine and gearbox, there are a lot of good reasons to run fluids more specific to the task. The transmission runs a lot cooler than the engine, and a high quality ATF is good for a wet clutch transmission. And for the engine, you can take advantage of a lot of higher end synthetic oils that you otherwise couldn’t run in a shared oil setup because of friction modifiers.

    Dude the HP Trans Oil bottle has a notice on the label that says "Pro Honda HP Trans Oil is formulated for the use in 2-stroke transmissions only." You just put it in a 4-stroke motor. The owners manual suggests "Pro Honda HP Trans oil, Pro Honda GN4 or HP4 (without molybdenum additives) 4-stroke engine oil or an equivalent. Viscosity SAE 10W-40." You might want to point that out in case the 80W/85W may ruin someone's transmission.
