I work in the Suspension industry and this is actually a very informative vid with some very key points on suspension set up
do this apply to my 07 yz450
@@3dwezzy740 year 🙂 at least enough that you would be able to manage. 100% champ 👌
instablaster.
@taze shred do you have standard or air forks? I just had this problem with my FC250’s WP air forks and I might have a solution for u
I did my own suspension (sans re-valving), because the people who work in the industry did the job wrong.
There is more information in the owners manual. I am going to be nice, and stop right there.
I love Tylar. He's just out here being himself.
This is the best explained and demonstrated suspension set guide I have seen to date. Thanks.
I need to watch this like three more times lol
Cole Anson haha I was thinking the same thing. That guy had definitely spent a ton of time learning about suspension
Right!
nooobs
its wonderful that the video has so much actual content!
Cole Anson yeah, I think that makes 2 of us 😂🤣
Doc is the man! He truly goes above and beyond for the Moto community here in central TX. Love my 812 setup. Great video Mx Factory👍🏽
Can I buy and ride a bike with out being in your little "community"? That crap is for commune----------ism. I ride dirt bikes to get away from you people. :)
Easily one of my favorite channels! So much great information, I am beyond grateful for the hard work you put into these videos. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the props! There’s definitely a lot of work that goes into these videos, especially this suspension one, so thanks for recognizing that. Many more to come!
Good job on the explanation Doc! Keep rockin! Comment comin all the way from Wells Branch!
Awesome guys awesome, you guys give a lot of tips guys. Last four or five years I'm trying to get suspensions setup but I couldn't much. After this video I got superb confidence to do the setup. Continue guys. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I really liked the fluid comparison of hours of use. I’ve always been a little skeptical of maintenance schedules cause I often get away with letting them go but then wonder why all of a sudden I have a leak. Very good hourly comparison 👍🏻
Got my suspension done by 812, it's wasn't cheap but this guy knows what he's doing, it feels like a different bike.
I can't thank you guys enough! I'd rather learn right the first time. Now, I'm building my way to be a better rider. Thanks again.
Really great guide. Dudes a mad scientist.
This was actually killer, raised my stanchion 7mm reset all my tuning valves to the base mentioned, thing will hook up on the trail better now I hope and actually turn in. Sweet vid.
I needed this video so bad xD
my kx125 feels really harsh, and now im pretty sure i know why
That's a good looking Walker Seat! Gus is the man, one incredible human. But you already knew that 💪
Im appreciate your Vidoes so much!
Ive done alot of research in the past years with everythin which has to do with dirtbikes and im still getting some realy good new information and tipps which are so helpful and important!
Especially right now with the oil wear comparisons!!
I couldnt get any infos about the exact oil wear and how and how much it wears in a certaim amount of time, so i can set my oil change priorities.
Thanks so much Vital and 812 Suspension!
Greetings from Nuremberg, Germany
another great vlog, thanks guys!
This was SUPREMELY informative!! I’m legit surprised!
Funny - I've subscribed to your channel for over a year and have been a big fan.
This might be the best video I've seen from MXF. Granted, I've been researching servicing my 4CS forks. Great vid.
Thank you guys. This is good information to have. I liked the cutaway bits too. Helps to simplify things.
Very informative. Well done!
More please!!! Just awesome! Thank you!
Best info I’ve seen since Jay Clark . I’ll have to circle back to this a few times
Amazing guys appreciate it. You’re the best. Well, done video. Amazing. Keep up the good work.
Thank you guys great tips to learn and apply ,great job!!!
i love to watch your videos! always fun and educative!
Another classic vid guys......you should make a vid on jetting 2 stroke bikes
Great video guys!
Awesome tips!.. I tweaked my front end the other day when I flipped my bike. The guys told me to whack the wheel against a tree and that got me going but was not perfect. I got home and removed everything(forks/wheel etc..). Even after reinstalling it feels funny.
I will look at the pinch bolts today and try that brake procedure.
Gotta love tech tips AND SAFETY GOGGLES!!! LOL
Just loosen the axle clamp bolts, the upper and lower fork clamps ...this will relieve any load on the forks caused by a crash, hard landings and / or improper assembly in the first place. Move handlebars from side to side and wiggle tire side to side just a bit. Tighten axle nut, then lower fork clamps , axle clamps, and then upper, do this one more time and the forks and axle will find their true positioning unloaded and off you go. Torque everything accordingly. Too tight and it can cause binding.
Awesome video !!! Very informative Thank you !!
Loved 🥰 it. Rarely watch a whole video, but I sat through this, great video by both of you. Don’t normally like being lectured to but I didn’t mind this time
Awesome content🤙🏼
This was great, thanks
Very complete. Thank you!
Very useful. excellent subject. Great. Thanks.
Great video !! Thank you
I enjoyed the vid!!! I learned a lot!!!!
great video guys. I got some new tips from thid for my own bike!!!
Such a great video! Thank you!
Thanks for this video!!!!
Great info. Well done
Had the 3lack navy/gold before it dropped 😲😍 the best looking kit out hands down
Very helpful. Thanks.
That was a cool video liked it a lot, keep them coming
That guy is full of knowledge. Definitely one of the most informative videos yet. Wish he could help me set up my suspension
It’s all relative to weight and riding conditions.
You can ship your suspension to him 😘 it’s worth it.
Thanks i feel im better already after viewing your video
Great info! Thanks so much.
Thanks guys great video 👍
Good video Doc !
Every dirt biker should watch this video
awesoem video! thank you
Awesome job as always. stay safe
New sub. Great channel.
Back into mx bikes after about 30 years. Picked up a 2007 YZ250 and realizing suspension has changed a lot since back in the day.
Thanks for the sub! And yes, it’s changed a ton
Great video, thank you 👍🏻
Thanks, just love your videos. So good, so pedagogical. And funny :-)
BEST VIDEOS on MX forks ever.
Don't follow the torque method for the clamp bolts or you will find yourself having problems.
we learn a lot from u guys thanks for the effort and every thing
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
Great information mate.
Question: Why aren't you using a fork brace between the wheel and lower clamp when strapping down the bike during transport.
Awesome video
Great starting point for 2005 plus bikes,on my crf 450 2010 work great but on yz450f steel frame all same just on rear shock works good on 5 clicks out down rebound
Great vid thx
Great video. Can you now do a video on modifying suspension shim stacks? Thanks!
This dude looks and sounds like a young Woody Harrelson. That said, this was a helpful video.
Great video, thanks for making it.
Thanks for watching it!
awesome video
Good video. I like the part at the end where you say “It’s probably not the bike, it’s the rider”. So tired of these young guys at the track blaming the bike for their inability. lol
This was superb!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the post and the work to produce it!
Do a video on how to charge whoops plz
Great video im assuming 10 comp 18 rebound is a good baseline setting?
very informative!...i subscribed :-)
awesome video, I had no idea that the fluids needed to be changed so often. I have always waited for the seals to blow before I changed fluid. Now I know.
The part at the end where he showed the hour usage of different oils, that was new to us as well. Pretty cool to see how the oil breaks down though.
Seriously thanks for this video, I have always thought that my riding was just getting sloppy towards the end of my riding season. Now I have a feeling that my suspension may just be needing new oil.
Great tips
What type of torque wrench for the axle pinch bolts? thanks for the vid!
dam great video!!
Where do I find suggested settings to start with for my weight? Does it change for trails vs track?
Cool video I think I will change the oil in my forks cheers guys 😜🐶
Great Video!!!! Regarding the clicks for the suspesnion is this for every motocross bike or for only the ones with these type of forks?
thanks
Спасибо парни! Полезная информация!!
The best!
I’ve notified oil on my forks and some accumulating at the bottom. Is this an indication of leaking seals? Or what should I do
In what scenario would someone use aftermarket high flow valves in forks? I assumed for light riders but couldn’t you adjust rebound clickers on fork or not quite the same?
best instructional
for 8:30 over torque of triple clamps... if you over torque will it ruin the fork for life or can you simply loosen and set correct torque and have the forks move freely again?
Nice vid. Right to the point and very little BS.
Excellente video
That Husky is dope
Absolutely a great video, a must watch. Thank you guys!!
Round Rock Texas? I live a couple miles away from there lol
I love my 812 suspension, the attention to detail is second to none. If you knew Doc, you would know that attention to detail, it is what he is all about!
True that!
Nobody works harder than suspension guys
Negotiations of tight turns, what a rush ;-)
Outstanding VDO
Engineering is the other part of the fun
I was a fanatic about my suspension and brakes......any motor has more than enough power......if you can learn how to really dial in suspension for your tracks it makes pretty big difference....I wrote down all settings I used for each specific track and condition ( if rough, avg or smooth that day)
great vid very informative and covering items my shop manual does not. my only criticism is the screw driver used to alter clicker position was a dodgy fit, it needed to have a thicker blade to fit the slots better other wise damage can occur to the screw head. I know there is not a lot of pressure applied and that most would not care about the damage. IMO it is best to have the tool that fits best for any job.. thanks for the vid it was good to watch.
and that is against the law😂😂😂😂🖕
Very help-full I have a 2015 Husky FE 501, riding in the PNW and racing in NMA hare scrambles/off road and I find my forks pushing me off the trail, I’ve messed with the top clickers only, I’m going to raise the fork a bit to see if the bike turns tighter.
It will definitely help. Let us know how it goes!
Excellent video, one question, about the high speed shock. Will my shock get stiffer or softer if I turn it in all the way in-clockwise?
It won’t get stiffer or softer from adjusting high speed compression. Stiff or soft comes from clickers, the actually shock spring, and internal valving. All the high speed does is change the way a shock takes a high speed hit. So if you turn it in all the way, it will get stiffer on high speed hits.
mint vid cheers
Please, I would like to know, what is type of your front tire what I can see at 5:44, It looks very good, thank you for answear :)
very good boys
Excellent video : )
Not happy and cant figure my forks out though.
KTM 250 exc 2004 ...changed bushes, seals and tried different amounts of 10w fork oil....makes no difference.
Clickers com & dam dont make the slightest bit of difference as it still feels "Boingey" like a pogo stick.
I will try thicker oil but cant understand why the clickers aren't making any difference at all.
Any thoughts or advice extremely welcome.
Should the oil weight be changed to help slow rebound or compression? Or should I just stick with manufacture suggestion?
Excellent info man. Thx
