I remember driving on this legendary track using Suzuki Grand Vitara Escudo Pikes Peak, the red one. Mowing those corkscrew chicane with that monstrous front grill skirting was the ultimate pinnacle of my miserable real life. GT2 was the real shit then and now❤
I had upgraded that car to the max, and took it to the high speed ring. It was still spinning its 4 tyres at something like 400kph. With inadequate aero settings, you'd wheelie down the whole straight. i don't recall the top speed, but it probably almost broke the sound barrier at some point
A couple of Saturday’s ago Steve met my 13 year old nephew at Buckmore park Karting circuit on a club 100 Academy day, he was so happy you took the time to have a photo, and even give him some racing advice! Thanks for taking the time to inspire the next generation and representing the sport so well….. and for my breakfast entertainment….. and of course sayings such as “the shadow realm” lol
The corkscrew gets the notorious reputation but the big kink before truly is the most difficult to get right. It's so easy to go wide into the gravel if youre even a little late on your turn-in.
I've been whatching your videos for a while now, and finally few days ago I stared playing the daily races in GT7. In my very first race ever I finished 6th, which I think is a sign itself :D
physics now are so much fun, less traction with most vehicles, over steer at faster speeds, understeer at slower speeds and impossible to turn while breaking or barely touching the throttle with your pinky toe going walking speeds, you're skill is noteworthy Mr gt 私は自分の命を救うためにブレーキをかけることができません
An explanation for 14:31: The guy was trying to take out the white car that was on the exit of the turn, probably due to anger at being overtaken or something, but ended up missing.
To answer Steve's reference that IndyCar raced at Laguna Seca: There was a memorable event during the 1996 season when Alex Zanardi brilliantly performed "The Pass" on Brian Herta coming into the corkscrew on the last lap. Man, that was a real jump out of your seat moment!
14:20 I think they were trying to send another driver to hell, for whatever reason, but weren’t close enough and thought they couldn’t catch up to do so. Not even a dive bomb, just a bomb lol
Steve! Loved the analyses style of the lap starting at the 8 min mark. I’d love a series of videos just like that of your favorite tracks with tips to improve. As a newer sim driver I think it would be awesome!
Just started daily races for the first time yesterday. Drove a genesis x got 5th on the pole and 5th at the end lol. wasnt easy. Ran this track so many times lol your vids have helped me tremendously
Laguna is so much fun, I usually don’t like such twisty tracks but for some reason I have so much fun on that track. It might just be the rolling start, but this track seems to have a lot less accidents on it too
Steve I’m really appreciating the chase cam views from the car behind you during your races, it is much more informative than the in car / bonnet cam. I race in chase cam and may be biased, but you can literally see the bigger picture. Any chance of a live stream soon, you seem to have regained some enthusiasm for gt recently…
0:56 I mean yeah, they race indycars pretty much every year here. maybe you like the group 3 cars to drive. but I must say watching indycar around this place is absolutely sublime
That guy missing his breaking point into the hairpin has happened to to me before 😂. that guy drove through the sand realm to visit Barry R on his way to the shadow realm
Really enjoyed this close racing in this vid. Gave it a little thought about the fastest cars that run on this track regularly and i believe it my be the TransAm series cars 800hp tube chassis with high down force cars in a multi class race along side the GT series cars. Looking forward to what is next upload
Thanks for that explenation on how to drive this track. Earlier today i had major problems finding that sweet spot and was basicly all over the place. My best run was around 1m 23,5s or so. Turns out i brake to late causing me to constantly run wide haha Tnx for the great content! Hopefully we meet some day on the track :3
I got this game the other day and having a blast. I’m not skilled enough to even attempt online. I’m getting better through the cafe but braking and correct gear are very difficult. What are the best ways to better myself at this?
Love your videos!! I know you use the McLaren wheel but I’m curious how you assign buttons on it since it isn’t listed in the Controller Menu inside GT7. Please help. I want to replace my GT Pro wheel.
Been playing this race all day , don’t have a steering wheel but managed a 123.2 but still can’t get the win , either 2nd or 3rd so well done your really good
Spoiling us with content recently Steve thank you 👍. Any more VR coming up? How are you getting on with it? I have tried to stick to VR now, I'm more consistent but can't get the peak lap times. Think it's the fear of dying as before you would quite happily go past the limits to find them.
In 2007 they raced the LMP1 Audi R8 in laguna Seca for the ALMS championship against the LMP2 Porsche Spider. There is a very good video of it on RUclips!!!
Lol there was nothing wrong with that pass. He was fully along side in the braking zone which is more than twice the requirement. At that point he owns that corner and the 911 has to make room. Additionally Steve achieved this position without missing the apex or drifting wide. Either you don’t watch real racing or you’re a victim of the DRS generation where most passes are on the straights.
Thought what new track is that, only realized they rotated the map. Funny enough, from GT2 to GT7 and even in real life, the corkscrew is appproached at about 60 mph with the proper entry Ah yes the pink -Yaris- Supra
I'm never on pace with super GT... my best time is with the M3 @ 1.24.3. It's difficult to stay consistent with these new physics. But I need to up my game... need to find out what I'm doing wrong.
Tried this out last night, started in P14, ended up in P2 with a 5 second gap between myself and first place at the end, it was MESSY and it seemed no one knew what track limits meant.
I would love to see you try a "Hold the Position" challenge with the Citroen. Its a car ive loved since GT5, but a car that i see almost noone use, especially in 'A' or better lobbies
Setting up for the left-hander after the corkscrew I've noticed that Steve is fairly middle track instead of getting all the way right to then dive into the apex. I've always done it like that. Probably the first time I've had a big difference between my perceived line and Steve's line. Anyone else notice this or am I totally off?
This might be the most prolific I’ve ever seen superGT going back to the forza days
sex
14:50 how nice for Barry to meet his cousin ‘Barry R’
Particularly prolific?
Lol
Steve, I wanna thank you from the bottom of my heart for the tons of entertainment you've provided us these past few months... it's been so awesome
Big up
100%
shut up weeb uwu

3:40 "The gravel had its way with him" -SuperGT 😂
This is such a fun track, one of my favorites. It's great for the Karts in the game as well.
Sounds like fun, Might give it a GO-kart 😅
@@howdnz i see what you did there ;)
I've been whatching your videos for a while now, and finally few days ago I stared playing the daily races in GT7. In my very first race ever I finished 6th, which I think is a sign itself :D
congrats!
Was at the Indy Car race at Laguna last year. 155mph before braking into the Corkscrew (they were passing each other in it!).
Love it when you try these Races with other cars instead of the Main ones 🙌🏼
physics now are so much fun, less traction with most vehicles, over steer at faster speeds, understeer at slower speeds and impossible to turn while breaking or barely touching the throttle with your pinky toe going walking speeds, you're skill is noteworthy Mr gt 私は自分の命を救うためにブレーキをかけることができません
@7:07 excellent sportsmanship! You love to see it. Awesome races as always!
I always like to see you starting from the back. It makes for a fun race and for good overtaking instructions.
thanks for the tips. definitely improved my lines and thus my time down to 1:23.. im only a level C and won two races today !
Your commentary is always impeccable! 😂🖤
1:15 and 6:00 - STOKIEBEN89 got shafted twice in the corkscrew on the 1st lap. Racing incidents both times, still a big F for the poor guy.😓
Car switch up at the end was awesome. Cool to see some of the other cars you can choose to race.
An explanation for 14:31: The guy was trying to take out the white car that was on the exit of the turn, probably due to anger at being overtaken or something, but ended up missing.
I appreciate you talking out your strategies/decisions, it has helped me improve my own racing significantly
To answer Steve's reference that IndyCar raced at Laguna Seca:
There was a memorable event during the 1996 season when Alex Zanardi brilliantly performed "The Pass" on Brian Herta coming into the corkscrew on the last lap. Man, that was a real jump out of your seat moment!
The racing between you and the German from 16:38 onwards was fantastic. That’s what sim racing is supposed to be about. Great stuff.
14:20 I think they were trying to send another driver to hell, for whatever reason, but weren’t close enough and thought they couldn’t catch up to do so. Not even a dive bomb, just a bomb lol
I’m glad I got my dose of GT sooner than expected.
14:35 man literally did a Valentino Rossi in Spielberg 2020
Can tell Steve's enjoying the game more at the moment, the uploads are thick and fast ❤
Steve! Loved the analyses style of the lap starting at the 8 min mark. I’d love a series of videos just like that of your favorite tracks with tips to improve. As a newer sim driver I think it would be awesome!
Man what is that GLAAAAAAARE ahahah 17:11 to 17:12 the sun just goes" well I've done enough, let's switch off a bit".
Just started daily races for the first time yesterday. Drove a genesis x got 5th on the pole and 5th at the end lol. wasnt easy.
Ran this track so many times lol your vids have helped me tremendously
That one guy must've spilled his G-Fuel mid turn
This track had endless posibilities to send it, multiple portals to the shadow realm!
Lol true, tried this track yesterday first time only with AI and I flew out of the track so many times, the corners are scary on this one xD
True. Tan this race like 5 times and I got punted every. Single. Race. 😭
the corkscrew on this track in forza is fearsome, I wanted to see how you took it and then it was like 1/2 the elevation change I'm used to seeing lol
If that’s true, Forza screwed up. I’ve driven and ridden this track IRL a dozen times not to mention spectating at WSBK and MotoGP
I love this track I play this track a looot and I win a few races but it’s 2 chaotic
I love how the video length is 20:23 exactly.
"I think they have done IndyCar around here in the past." The past in this case being every year from 1983 to 2004 and then since 2019.
Oh lord, I love Laguna Seca, and the chaos is funny until they hit you
Laguna is so much fun, I usually don’t like such twisty tracks but for some reason I have so much fun on that track. It might just be the rolling start, but this track seems to have a lot less accidents on it too
Steve i see you are using my livery in this video..thanks very much choosing it,its a great honour all the best gazza(Greyswolf-7)
Steve I’m really appreciating the chase cam views from the car behind you during your races, it is much more informative than the in car / bonnet cam. 5:22 genius
0:56 I mean yeah, they race indycars pretty much every year here.
maybe you like the group 3 cars to drive. but I must say watching indycar around this place is absolutely sublime
Super GT video checklist:
Meet Barry R: Check
Send to shadow realm: Check
Finish in P6: Check
Conclusion: Another great quality Super GT video :)
That guy missing his breaking point into the hairpin has happened to to me before 😂. that guy drove through the sand realm to visit Barry R on his way to the shadow realm

Last race in recent seasons in Indycar is at Laguna Seca, mate ;)
They are actually still doing IndyCar at Laguna Seca:)
Thanks for that explenation on how to drive this track. Earlier today i had major problems finding that sweet spot and was basicly all over the place. My best run was around 1m 23,5s or so.
Turns out i brake to late causing me to constantly run wide haha
Tnx for the great content! Hopefully we meet some day on the track :3
Thanks for showing your qualifier lap and explaining some driving tips.. that's helpful!
It may surprise you, but gr1 cars have raced in this track too. I think it was LMP1, LMh or LMDh.
RIP Scott Speed, dearly missed and immediately forgotten, sample text
14:30 That was a clear OLD SCHOOL Ramming attempt gone terrible wrong. lol
To answer you, yes IndyCar races at Laguna Seca as the final race of the season! Awesome race, definitely one to watch!
This man is churning out the content right now and I love it. Power to you, Steve
I got this game the other day and having a blast. I’m not skilled enough to even attempt online. I’m getting better through the cafe but braking and correct gear are very difficult. What are the best ways to better myself at this?

14:41 his mom snatched his controller lol.
15:04 look at that beautiful Rothmans livery
Hella excited whenever I see a vid of yours, keep up the good work friend! :)
Lol, the cosmic odds, my RUclips crashed with the “Lag” and it came back right when you said you had a bit of lag in game.
Also
Do a drag wheely
Very interested to see Giga GT take to the track.
4:12
Almost took the wrong turn😭😭😭
Poor BEN was driven off the track at the same corner two races in a row :D
Been playing this race all day , don’t have a steering wheel but managed a 123.2 but still can’t get the win , either 2nd or 3rd so well done your really good
These videos are therapy for me.
SuperGT second last video title: the fun races are finally back
SuperGT latest video: GT7, fun but also very chaotic
Love this guy 😂
Chaotic indeed, my SR went from S to B in 2 races🤦♂️ because of incidents... always a joy to watch you GT🔥✌️
20:05 The word you're looking for is "je ne sais quoi."
Being a fan of superGT is like being a fan of chaos before gran turismo open lobbies existed
Bro what???
What are you on about
Correction: *what are you on*
Or like eating pasta before the italians invented it
Fair enough
IndyCar's final season race is now at Laguna, since you were talking about it.
Spoiling us with content recently Steve thank you 👍. Any more VR coming up? How are you getting on with it? I have tried to stick to VR now, I'm more consistent but can't get the peak lap times. Think it's the fear of dying as before you would quite happily go past the limits to find them.
5 > 1, this is the best educational channel on youtube!
In 2007 they raced the LMP1 Audi R8 in laguna Seca for the ALMS championship against the LMP2 Porsche Spider. There is a very good video of it on RUclips!!!
Whenever he brings out his Alex Albon account, you know he's gonna race dirty and then blame Albon for it lol
1:10 divebomb at the corkscrew 🙈🤷🏼
Lol there was nothing wrong with that pass. He was fully along side in the braking zone which is more than twice the requirement. At that point he owns that corner and the 911 has to make room. Ah yes the pink -Yaris- Supra
I loved this race, got me a couple wins and podiums, this race in particular got me to B rank
Steve! I wanna be the first to congratulate you on 800K subscribers!!!! Keep up the great work mate.
ive been having a lot of good tidy races on laguna seca this time, lots of good fun... close racing
I'm never on pace with super GT... my best time is with the M3 @ 1.24.3. It's difficult to stay consistent with these new physics. But I need to up my game... need to find out what I'm doing wrong.
4:52 also looking at the incident as it happened, looked like the leader only had two bars of WiFi, so could just be down to lag.
16:20 how does shifting down a gear rotate the car?
Tried this out last night, started in P14, ended up in P2 with a 5 second gap between myself and first place at the end, it was MESSY and it seemed no one knew what track limits meant.
laguna seca is easily one of the best tracks for multiplayer such a fun course
Man I'm loving the consistent uploads!
Thankz for uploading steve
You should make a video with an eye tracker, would be pretty interesting to see where you're watching!
Dude, you are spoiling us with all the uploads!
INDYCAR still races at laguna seca, it’s their season finale race
theres an S license with the F1 car on this track, it is bonkers.
I would love to see you try a "Hold the Position" challenge with the Citroen. Its a car ive loved since GT5, but a car that i see almost noone use, especially in 'A' or better lobbies
Which camera do you use during the race regardless the replay?
Deux vidéo en deux jour tu nous fait plaisir super gt
a question here : why do you exit the corkscrew in 3rd instead of 2nd ? could give better accel
also, may i suggest the Mazda Atenza Gr.3. I found it turning very nicely on this track.
That lap 1 in your 3rd race was Verstappen-like.
Setting up for the left-hander after the corkscrew I've noticed that Steve is fairly middle track instead of getting all the way right to then dive into the apex. I've always done it like that. Probably the first time I've had a big difference between my perceived line and Steve's line. Anyone else notice this or am I totally off?
yeah, I noticed that too
Absolute banger after banger videos, thank you Steve
Love the uploads lately !
Hello SuperGT, viewer here!😁
😁
"The gravel had its way with him" R.I.P. 💀😂
Yeah they still do Indy car around here, September 10th this year
