Put a Toyota badge on it, the public would get in fist fights to get in line to pay over msrp 😂😂😂
It’s ugly
3 cylinder 1.2 engine?
@@RickDolishny ya, it’s fine. My wife has it in her 2021 trailblazer. Remember, it’s an economy car 🚙
A sheep in wolf's clothing.@@RickDolishny 😹
I saw this car (in white) for the first time in person last weekend and let me tell you, it looks so sharp! I can't speak about the driving experience but the exterior look and the interior are great for the price.
Beautiful car indeed. I'm just not going to buy a Kia/Hyundai clone.
Give it 2 or 3 weeks before it needs repairs
Mine is white
Love mine it's white
Looks is the last thing you should care about when buying a car
My church gifted me this exact car and I’m loving it!
And now, the Pope would like it back.
Bruh what what church gives out free cars
Ayo what church you go to? I'll be there this Sunday.
Seen this on the road the other day. I was intrigued by the style of it. This aint granddads buick 😆😆
Yeah it is slow for slow drivers.
At 137 HP, yes, it is.
Really REALLY nice looking car. Super refined looking with no BS. If the motor is at least somewhat reliable, it will be a hit with staying power. The only dealbreaker for me is the “bumper level” signal tail lights, popular with Hyundai’s/KIA’s. It’s downright dangerous and should be banned from all new vehicles.
low tail lights...stupid!
Buick's suck. Piles of junk
Engine is the biggest issue, gm doesn't have good reliability track record
turbo 3 cylinder hauling all that weight is reliable?
@@thanosianthemadtitanic won't be on long run
You bet on that.
400+hp Twin-Turbo V6 (or V8) + AWD + those looks = "We can't build them fast enough", Buick Grand National style, Instant Car Legend mode. Wouldn't care how much it cost. Buick/GM would simply have my $$$. 🤑
Even a 2.0t with 250 hp would be so much better
Motor swap + this. You could have a bad car still well under $35k.
You'll just have to do your own R&D but might be worth it. I think the only other issue is it's FWD only. But that's not a deal breaker to most.
The government is killing v6’s but we could hope they add it in one day
This is a very nice car…saw it up close but I think it would be a good idea to wait and see if there are any reliability issues with that teenie weenie turbo charged engine. Right now it is brand new. Like to see a review of this car with 75-80 k miles on it. Only time will tell!!!
The turbo three has been in the Encore GX for a few years now and has had no major issues
Ok thanks…good to know ! I have not had a GM product in years. I did not realize that they made all of these small turbos until I saw this 1.2 in the Trax and Envista.
Yeah! I like it, but I heard Buick doesn’t have a great track record when it comes to reliability. I,like buy the 5th iteration of this car. 😅😂
Yes. Overall GM does not have a great rep especially for me coming from a line of Honda’s with absolutely no issues ! Love the Trax and Envista but it will be a wait and see for me ! Why did GM put that little motor cycle engine in those cars?
@@phoenixmorphixAll it takes is a simple search, maybe 10 minutes of research to tell you that Buick is GMs most reliable brand, and has been for years.
We bought a red ST last month. The small engine with turbo goes just fine. We traded in a Jeep Cherokee with a V6 , and the Envista has better pickup. Drive one, you’ll love it.
Better pickup is cap but ok
Bet it loses to a bicycle
137 hp 😂😂😂 it is crap
@@smokinnplatez1426it’s quick from 0-30 but after that it lags.
It’s more than sufficient for urban driving which is exactly what it was designed to be.
Does it drive like a Buick?? Like luxury?
I had a 65 VW with a 1.2 liter engine that produced 40hp, this Buick would prob snap my neck
😂😂😂
It’s definitely not snapping anyone’s neck. 😂
1965, and in 2024, gm puts same size engine, you gotta be nuts to buy this buick, we all know this engine will not last past warranty.
@@tonyn3227
yeah i dont know what GMs fascination is with these engines, gas milage is same or worse than bigger 4 cylinder engines. i have heard from other sources that there are some advantages with 3 cylinders and a turbo over a 4 cylinder plus there is definitely a different exhaust note. Toyota is doing it in the GR Corolla so maybe there is something to it
I would not bank on this engine.
Biggest concern will be the long term reliability of the turbo in the 3 cylinder with a timing belt.
Exactly!!
I really hate when manufactures divorce the brake lights / turn indicators from the tail lights and put them in the lower bumper.
On some vehicles, it difficult to see the indicators because normally we done look below the bumper for them.
If you can't see a vehicle's indicators because "they're not where I expect them to be" then you probably shouldn't be driving as you apparently have tunnel vision.
@@nodak81 Oh thanks! I didn’t realize you’re my optometrist!
I get really annoyed that not all turn signals are yellow/amber colored in all cars. I feel this should be standard. I hate the red brake lights. I feel like they don't stick out enough.
@@brendynporter1013 yeah it is weird technology connection did a good video on that also in Europe and most of the world it is required
@@nodak81actually he has a point especially for trucks/semi trucks that sit up higher and have a high hood they litterally wont even see them considering it's a foot off the steet the worse in my opinion is kia and Hyundai
I have and Envista and live in northern Ohio. The snow just melts on the back window (defrost on)and when and at higher speeds the water blows off the window and it dries even though its still raining. This is a great car and I traded a 2020 Rav4 for this car and do not miss the Rav4 at all.
I heard Buick reliability is horrible compared to Toyota. I guess only time will tell.
@@AC-yt3weidk where you heard that from but Buick is top 3 behind Toyota and Lexus according to JD power and check out consumer reports and you’ll see really strong reliability numbers from Buick.
Historically, Buick is the most reliable American brand from what I’ve been told. Personally, it’s the only American brand I trust. Obviously Toyota are industry leaders in quality control and reliability.
No AWD? In Ohio... Im in MI and cant imagine a 2WD car in the winter. Subaru Crosstrek is the winner so far for me.
@@individual116 Thanks for answering, that's good to know and I'm glad its not the case. I like this Buick but they don't sell Buick back home.
You're an actual moron if you traded in a brand new Toyota for this piece of crap.

@@lauratumminelli4664does it have any intriguing tech?

I went and leased one for two years in ST withiut the sunroof. You absolutely can tell where Buick cut corners but those corners are not bad or cheap, just missing. For example, the lack of express up windows on the driver only is something I had on my 2008 Saturn Aura. The just blank expanse between screens on the dash. It doesnt look cheap or bad but just non existent. Like a fine piano black void. There is plastic everywhere in the backseat. Like... Everywhere but its together really well.
The motor is not as slouchy as it looks in paper. Everyone is focused on the HP and Cylinder count but not the HP to weight ratio and did anyone xomplaining see the torque? 182lb. Thats what matters for quick gettin. The 6 speed has no problems but it sure likes to get to 6 as fast as possible. Where it is wanting is freeway passing. If the person you're passing wants to be a jerk about it, theres very little chance you'll keep up as it hunts for lower gears while still staying as close to 6th as possible. But it will sacely pass on the freeway. Its not a race car.
But ill say, this is the lowest you can go with the Buick nameplate. Anything less would have very much diluted everything else.
Leasing is probably the best way to go with this car. In 2 years you will have a pretty good idea about this 1.2 turbo and the car in general
It’s a great Korean compact crossover
4 cylinder AWD in the same design🎉
You’re describing a Subaru crosstrek with more premium interiors.
The problem with American car companies is .. bad leadership CEOs, and bad car designs = hard to trust the quality and very ugly unimaginative designs - just copying others
My grandma has a 2016 Lacrosse. That car is wonderful. The teal lighting throughout with the wrap-around accent light ties the interior together really well. The seats are nice looking and very comfortable. The gauge cluster has plenty of information and is very nice overall. The only negative thing is the center panel. Dials instead of buttons would have been nice for temp. The center screen is also slightly slow.
The instant replays of child basketball killed me, lol!
When you buy a lambo Urus from Wish.
I see the resemblance, but this looks way better than the Lambo.
@@zerocool5395I always thought the lambo was the ugliest of super cars
@@chevy4x466 Marcello Gandini Lambos are best Lambos.
@@zerocool5395 lmao don’t kid yourself this is nothing compared to the Urus. It looks cheap and basic like an FRS
This made me laugh…but i will bet Buick's reliability will trump that of the Lambo.
Great video!
I just bought Buick envista 2024 same color copper very nice spacious a lot of features . Very happy ! 🤎
Congrats on your new Envista!
If General Motors can make “AFFORDABLE CARS” that means they’ve been overcharging customers for unreliable vehicles over the years 🙂
Definitely a great looking car. I'd probably go with the Encore instead but this thing definitely has a lot of character for that price point. I don't know if I'd trust a 3 cylinder long term but easily a nice cheap lease option.
Having owned a Cruze with the 4 cylinder turbo, there's no way I'd buy this car. Sure it looks good, but that suped lawn mower engine is going to be a constant pain in the ass.
If they drop the turbo, put in a reliable inline 4, and make it a hybrid I might be interested. As it stands it's just a bigger and more fashionable Geo Metro.
I love mine .Bought right before Christmas... 30 37 highway
This vehicle impressed me the most at our local car show. Yes body style like a Urus without the unnecessary hp & price 😂Envista At the top of my list.
That copper is incredibly stunning 😍
Great review!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely love the look of this vehicle and was going to possibly test drive but this ended that for me. Great review and gave me what I needed in 6’5 and it also being only front wheel drive ruined it for me. If that made this bigger and 4wd/and I’d buy it no question. Just had a snow storm up north and this wouldn’t make it. If Buick makes this the size of an Envision or Enclave and drops the turbo for a 6 cylinder with AWD they’d sell like crazy. Love the review.
Informative review. Several brands are using the parking/turn signals above the headlights look. Just like my 1967 Pontiac Grand Prix.
I absolutely love this car!!
Me too fun to drive all the safely features
I just ordered one! It’s the coolest looking car I have ever seen for under 30,000$. My local dealership ordered 6 for their lot and they have already sold 4 before the cars have even been delivered to the dealership.
You gotta have brain damage to buy a car because it’s the “cheapest & coolest looking” you should buy a car based on its performance and reliability.. something this Buick lacks in 😂 a Toyota Camry from 2003 has more horse power then this 2024 Buick. Think about that for a moment 😂😂 a car from 20 years ago
@@lows6427 Well I’m sure the horse power will suit me just fine on my target trips and 5 mile work commute. But thanks for your concern 😘
What’s your mpg on streets? My daughter in law wants an suv type car but wants good mpg’s.
@@drplando14 mpg is average. Low to mid 30’s. Maybe look into a hybrid if you want high mpg.
This is closest thing we'll ever get to a wagon from an American company. I'd seriously consider this is they came out with an "Envista GX" which offered the more powerful 1.3L, AWD, and some more luxury touches like those Bose system and cooled seats. The CX-30 is such a better choice however if you value actual utility and driving dynamics with it's much more powerful base engine and the option of the turbo with standard AWD across the board.
The Escape of Buick. I like it.
I admire how *gm* completely goes against industry standards for what makes a vehicle compact or subcompact. Nearly All of their vehicles are more spacious inside or offer more cargo space than their counterparts. The full-size SUVs are the only ones in their segment whose 3rd row leg room and _cargo_ room behind it will increase in extended versions (Yukon XL/Suburban). That’s really important to *gm* and their customers. I applaud them for that, being 6’0 tall and a bit claustrophobic. Nothing worse than purchasing a brand new vehicle and you love everything about it except you wish you had more space.
Everything is so boring and dated.
That too!@@BMAN2065
Im also give or take 6ft and I haven’t really found a car that felt cramped in the driver’s seat though…? Unless it was a REALLY small vehicle. I’ve seen a lot of cars that had very cramped rear and somewhat cramped passenger but I never cared too much for that. I mean, when am I ever going to be a passenger in my own car, let alone a rear one.
Excellent review as always!
This surprisingly would’ve been a car I would have highly considered if it wasn’t for the tiny 3cyl turbo chrgd engine. I don’t trust the reliability long term at all. They really dropped the ball in that department. Hopefully they prove me wrong. Time will tell
Unfortunately manufacturers are forced by the tree hugging coalition to increase their C.A.F.E. and as such we get 3 cylinder engines with turbos that are expensive to replace.
spot on...they are nuts
Not bad. I'll take this over a lot of it's competitors.
I like these a lot. I just wish it had a more conventional engine with proven reliability.
I wish this car had Toyota Corolla Cross badge. lol
So you like unreliable cars? Gotcha
Out in Canada and China 2 years
Wow, Buick has been putting out some nice cars lately. This one is probably my fav so far.
It’s very nice! I like the design
Me too
Great review…and a nice looking Buick. But the first time someone up north is caught in traffic in the snow or those of us in FL are caught in a downpour - both are going to be wishing they had a rear wiper. But I also agree a bigger engine is needed.
Thanks!
You people never heard of side view mirrors.
At what rpm does the turbo kicks in? And is 1.2 engine producing enough power for a hill drive?
Grew up on American cars - espeically Buicks!!! I am leaving the "foreign car plantation" next. Been a HEAVY and committed Honda buyer. But these new Buicks will have me coming back home. I am buying this car next month, and trading in my Accord!!!
Your Accord is much more American than this car.
Motor, made in Mexico. Car body, made in South Korea. Tires, made in China. Coming back home?
It’s only cost effective because the UAW has forced American companies to import. This car is nice, but couldn’t be made in the USA at that price.
great review, I live in georgia having those rear vents in the summer is a must for the little ones. If hyundai and kia can put them in their vehicles at their price points there is no reason buick can't get it done. love the look I would opt for no badges or emblems to keep people guessing. having it in white would be a head turner.
I’m getting mine Thursday and I can’t wait!
Congrats on your upcoming Envista! What color did you pick?
White ST
It has a spare tire!!!! Seems trivial until you're on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck.
Personally, I'd need a 4WD option. My Ram City Promaster got stuck in WV snow on the way to my house/garage. I also want a hybrid to get 40+ rather than 30 mph. Beautiful ride. Hopefully they keep the body style and add more engine choices like Ford did with the Escape (I have the hybrid 4WD).
Other options this has which are great ... Lane Keep and adaptive cruise. A 2lb ankle weight on the steering wheel makes it a fake Tesla
I think it looks great
Beautiful!!
I have the same color, ST with some added features. I had it for 3 months and I love it! Drives great, quiet, peppy, turns heads, it has great features.
A rear wiper would be nice, since snow doesn't slide off but it would take away from the looks. Sooo pros and cons I guess.
Maybe think about putting Rain-X on the back window. It will help with the water/snow slide off.
I just bought this same color ST also last week with pretty much everything loaded. Took it on a road trip during a snow storm and handled it perfectly. No complaints. We love our new car! The color really is a stand out.
Buick should have folded with the rest of them. GM should have kept Pontiac over this brand selling nothing.
Buick is waaay more popular in China
Pontiac would be more attractive to younger buyers than Buick here in the States for sure
Looking for some opinions on what the rear window is like in the heavy snow?
I love it.
The scruff looks so good!
This is great design inside and out.
That motorcycle engine ain't gonna last...but I like what GM's doing. Great looks, great price, lets hope other manufacturers follow suit and bring the cost of new cars down...
With even average reliability this will be a smash hit... Outstanding review 💯👍🏾🔥
The turbo will wear the tiny engine down so except countless issues with that, along with replacing out the turbo before 100k miles.
Idk i have a rear wiper and all I use it for is to clean the dirt off the rear when it happens to be raining, I don't actually need it to see in the rain
That price is amazing as compared to the other SUV's on my list. I have only seen vehicles from the $40k's - over $100k and many are base or near base models.
I'd wait to buy this for a few years. See some 2-3 year reviews with it.
Why is it a 3 cylinder turbo… they made such a nice little package for the price. A half decent interior, good looking exterior, a SUV (popular market segment) and they chose a lousy 3 cylinder for it. And a questionably reliable one in the long term. A simple 4 cylinder turbo (quite literally the most common engine around now) or a 6 cylinder NA would’ve been so much more appealing.
I hope they’ll at least offer a bigger engine option. Because simply a “slow in general traffic overtake” car is frustrating to drive and is a big deal breaker. The 3 cylinder option is fine, just give us a bigger option for those who want to pay for it because it feels like it’s killing the car’s potential within some buyers.
Nice car. And unlike the new Hyundai Santa Fe you purchased, this Buick made it through the week with its original transmission!
the high torque is why it feels so responsive.
Thanks!
You're welcome, thanks for watching! 🙂
There is additional storage underneath the tray. Open the lid and pull the exposed tray out revealing a much bigger storage area.
Price is a little steep for what it is. When you say it's an option (e.g. the power trunk), is it an extra at an additional price and not standard?
Thank you for doing the actual measurements with an actual measuring tape!
Buick has that reputation _here._ In China, the brand is known for making small Luxury cars that are considered aspirational for up and coming executives. It's the reason why GM never got rid of the brand when it cleaned house several years back. Keeping Chevy made sense as the Working Class Bread & Butter brand. Keeping Cadillac made sense as the Luxury brand. Keeping GMC made some sense as the Truck brand (even though Chevy can easily handle that job on their own). But Buick? Intermediate brand?? Well, no because Ford got rid of theirs.' No more Mercury. So why keep Buick?.... Simple, because it's the money-maker insanely popular in China brand.
Would not look good if an American car company got rid of one of their brands in America, that is wildly popular in a foreign nation. So we still get Buick models, here. As far as this Buick goes?.... Wait four years and buy a Pre-owned one when prices will have plummeted to considerably below $23,000. She's worth buying. Just not right NOW.
That's a really nice looking car.
Buick could've done a better job on the back side view windows. What does the aggressive black pointed line from the back window do? Is it design over engineering before performance? Personally, if the back window was extended to the end of the plastic point thing, that could've been cool. Maybe a less of a blindspot? If I could add more, I would've extended the back window to the length of that black plastic. Just a thought....
This car is beautiful in person.
Man I was really hoping you could get an upgraded engine and awd in this or the trax. I would've purchased one if that was the case. Like awd and a 2L turbo would be perfect for the ST version
I had a Regal SB and really wanted the Envista when I saw it. I then saw the specs. And well, they lost a sell. How can they call that a ST with 134hp? Even with the top trim Avenir, you still get the wimpy engine and fwd. Make a 225hp, 9spd tranny, AWD, with a luxurious interior (to include rear passenger vents and a rear wiper and I might consider it. Driving a Corsair now with the 2.3L turbo.
It’s a beautiful vehicle.
“We don’t even need a rear wiper”?? I don’t care how sloped it is, it needs a rear wiper. You shouldn’t be giving manufacturers a pass for cheaping out on important features.
another crappy crossover
Well it’s a cheap SUV lol go wipe the rear window off I guess .. I honestly would’ve thought they’d have different trims with that option
I own one. It does not need a rear wiper. The rear end is a high wall taking all the splashback and the glass is as sloped as a car. I don't have visibility issues.
I get that it's sloped but it should still have a rear wiper...
@@stevenkreiss2113 For what though, looks? Because it would serve no purpose other than ruining the rubber blade every time you use it. We've had garbage weather so far this year and not once have I felt a need for a rear wiper.
Looks nice, baby Crown😊
Great for the price!
not against the idea of a 3cyl. but a 1.2 turbo is not going to point to a long lasting power train. Goodluck if you are looking to get this thing past 60,000k even with regular oil changes.

I'll buy one as soon as Tiger wraps his 137 hp freebie around the clubhouse portapottie at Torrey Pines 👌
I've heard the Trax is having a lot of electrical problems like door locks and windows only working when they want to. I haven't heard anything about the Envista though. I'm curious if anyone is experience the same problems?
Im sure the extra cost to include the brake lights and turn signals into the upper taillamp unit would have been well worth it and a much appreciated feature..

"How do we future proof our business?"
"Make a inexpensive car that appeals to the younger generation."
If you sell cars to the youngest generation you at least win over customers for the next couple decades if it is good. This is good.
I couldn’t like I and I tried because holy crap Buick was giving me $900 under invoice to buy it on the last day in March but couldn’t. So many things I didn’t like about it. The price made me test drive and consider it but it’s not exactly what I needed. I went with something else because I wanted better mpg but it was enticing even for its misgivings
Who makes transmission ? Thanks 👍
It doesn’t matter. It will need rebuilding in 25k miles
I find it amazing how 3-cylinder engines sound like nice V6 engines.
