My insomnia started as an offshoot of my health anxiety, thank you so much for this video Daniel. Right now im going through my first large speedbump after a couple of months of good sleep, things are pretty hard right now but im staying consistent.
Hi Daniel Thank you for providing wonderful content. I have suffered with health anxiety for 3 years after a misdiagnosis by my Dr. Its debilitating. I think people who have health anxiety and chronic insomnia, feel there lack of sleep will cause then a serious health crisis. Thank you
Hi Michael, Thanks so much for the kind words 🙂 and yes - I think you point to such a common link, I should highlight it more next time I talk about health anxiety!
These videos are brilliant, thank you. I went through another speed bump last week, when staying away from home for work. After my brain realised I could still have a good day and do my work on little sleep, my fear really dropped another notch, and I ended up sleeping well for the rest of the trip - this hasn't happened in a long time. Thank you Daniel!!! 😊
I’m currently dealing with insomnia directly related to health anxiety. Now I think I am gonna die every night because I get heart palpitations. And the more I think about them and fear them they get worse. I have been getting hypersleep that is really broken up but unfortunately no better than that. It is a struggle. Hoping it gets better. I really appreciate this video I needed to hear this.
Hang in there, I’m glad you found this helpful and we have an episode on palpitations that may be nice too: ruclips.net/video/q8QcA1apSCI/видео.htmlsi=qjTEdhYeeqOPDO89
Thank you for sharing this. I had progressing severe health anxiety since 17, and what u said really match what I felt. The thing is, even when the disease is said to be RARE, such as pancreas cancer, especially on people of young age, the question of "what if" never fails to calls for attention, and there is a quote which supports the "what if" of " better safe than sorry". The only way I make the HA goes away temporarily, for the past 10 years, had been visiting hospitals frequently for checkups, multiple different blood tests, ultrasounds, colonoscopies and even CT to "check" for problems which are never there ( which is not really a good way to suppress it ). Even till now, I won't say that HA have gone, and HA itself had gotten into my sleep recently, making me worried if unable to fall asleep is a result of some physical problems, brain problems, or even FFI or SFI (which after your video had ceased quite a lot) and if less sleep is leading to worse health, and like what you said, "forcing" myself into sleep, makes it even worse, resulting in endless sleepless nights.
Thank you so much Coach Daniel, this was SO helpful and explained EXACTLY what was going on with me and my perspective in the patient (me) perspective and my relations with the doctors because of my insomnia that I kept coming in for. Have you ever thought of not only helping people with insomnia but being doing something in counseling or being a life coach, I believe you have a gift of making people at ease with these videos and everyone is thinking that you’re doing a good job relating to them. It would be a good food for thought to consider🤞🏻💞

This is the exact anxiety I am going through right now which is what initially started my insomnia two months ago. I’ve been having great progress thanks to your videos and my sleep is maybe 75% better. I’ve started to notice this speed bump now and im not sure how to handle. Every time I go 2-3 days where I feel good, back to a calm baseline, sleeping good, my anxiety usually strikes back with a bit of a vengeance. Like it’s saying HEY YOUVE IGNORED ME !! So now here take this anxiety times 2 !! Like it’s not allowing me to move forward ! It always strikes back after a period of calmness. It’s as if my brain is afraid of letting go and is holding onto anxiety for dear life. How to address this ? Any videos you can recommend ?
Hi Ella, So glad this was pertinent for you and, we have this concept we call success regress, that video could really help. And really the entire speed bump playlist has so much value
First I had anxiety then health anxiety after learning that my uncle died from colon cancer (it was so hard to type that word) anxiety caused gut issues I thought I was sick for months I couldn't hear the word (cancer) without sweating I would google all my symptoms and worry every day. I'm off sleeping pills but I struggle with falling asleep I drink DPH I use Nature Bounty sleep aid I don't drink alcohol but sometimes I just wish I could drink until I don't know myself
Hang in there Ricardo, So sorry to hear about your uncle, as well as the fear and anxiety you had. I hope you’ll find a lot on this channel that will help.
Coach daniel, i would like to continue helping myself regarding my sleep problem. My doctors always tells me to take anxiety pills but i am not into those things thats why I just suffer for so long now. I would like to get more info about your sleep school .
Is it possible to still do Workouts/Building Muscles ? I only reading " u have to sleep. With no sleep you cant building muscles and do sport, cause u have to regenerate" Is this also false like these Headlines with health issues because of Insomnia ? Im at the point, that i know my insomnia is caused by thoughts and anxiety. But im on my way to selfkindess etc. Its kinda hard.
Hi Kaboku, it’s definitely possible. If you check the Talking insomnia videos, we’ve had one weight lifter and one personal trainer who saw that they did fine even after sleeping less. Hang in there!
@@thesleepcoachschool8192 I am so thankful that you try to answer every question. I sometimes feel bad because I have so many unanswerable questions that come from my fear. So I can do sports and build muscles even with less hours. Great. I'm learning more and more about insomnia thorugh your videos and even after the first 6 weeks with success and an average of 5-6 hours, I'm now "set back" at under 3 hours. But, i found your speed Bumb video and that's exactly what happened to me last week. There was this "Magic" For the first time I was very tired at bedtime and for 3 days i fell asleep very quickly and well. For 7 hours!! was so Proud of it. From day 4 it decreased drastically again. 5 hours, 3 hours and last night 2. Because my brain wanted to recreate it. But in the 3 nights I just watched Netflix Tv Show relaxed. I haven't tried anything. Such a paradox xD Even my Answer is longer than normal, its just thanksfulness to you for helping people with struggling without judgment. Thanks to all Coaches
I think the weight lifters name is Aryan and it was Talking insomnia 76, the personal trainer, he was so nice and helpful I feel bad not remembering his name! But it’s there if you browse
Hi Daniel! I was commenting quite a bit a few months back. And I have to say that progress has been made for sure. I’m not as hyperaroused. However, I still find myself waking up multiple times every night and just not feeling rested. Or even that I have deeply slept. I think a lot is still contributing to the thoughts of sleep and my health anxiety. I’m caught in frustration because I want to sleep like I used to and it’s just not happening. I always come back to the thought “how is this horrible sleep not going to cause me serious health issues long term” Any tips to help? Like I said big progress has been made but I still find myself acting on sleep efforts like going to sleep early, making sure my husband sleeps separately because of loud snoring. It’s still interfering with life :(
So glad things have gotten easier, thanks for sharing 🙏 What you mentioned here, it does sound like what we call a final hurdle, Insomnia insight 421 can help. Also, when we wonder why we don’t sleep like before, often it’s because of this: We weren’t comparing our sleep to before… before. Something to consider but again, the hyperarousal fading is so nice. And when we go “this is good but I want to lower” there’s some pressure and it may be tricky. But when we go “this isn’t where I want to be but it’s okay to be here now” - it fades more.
Thank you ! And yes very true statement that weren’t weren’t comparing sleep to before…before. All this extra awareness about sleep seems to be the big culprit. If only I could stop thinking about it completely. It’s tough. But thanks for your reply !
Hi dear I always think about my heart i feel like some thing wrong with my heart I think about my heart a lot then I get heart flutters I been to cardiology 5 times in 10 years and every time they say everything is normal IAM stuck and don’t like my self any more
Hello, I know I have this, and in one episode i woke up in panic thinking I was going to die or something was terribly wrong. I did not sleep for 24hrs bc my body could not let me. since then I have been waking up but still are able to sleep. two days ago i had the same symptom and i could not sleep, so i tried to sleep, medication, sleep hypnosis, journaling but every time I try to sleep my chest gets hot and gets tense and my body wakes up. So if i can pass that feeling and fall asleep i wake up with my heart racing. I know this is my body trying to not commit the type 2 error, my question is what do you recommend I do, to once again sleep before this traumatic event happened? Thank you again
It’s very common, I still get it now if I don’t sleep too well. I think it has a lot to do with when your anxious it can affect your apatite as your body is in fight or flight mode so is not particularly interested in digesting food in what’s perceived as an emergency situation. To be honest I think it may be similar when your tired from lack of sleep. Everything is a little more difficult anyways when your tired, so the thought of food or eating makes you feel nauseous. Hope this makes sense. Btw it is quite a common thing people mention.
@@rajunand7234 I've come across people who get nausea from lack of sleep obviously due to anxiety and also ppl who don't experience this even with no sleep. I feel every body reacts differently to different situations.
