Hey guys, would be good to see how Liams Defender intake manifold looks. How clean with no EGR, since it was removed.Would be nice to see if the EGR does in fact create all that black gunk buildup in the manifold.
the blank gunk is a combination of cranckcase ventilation and egr the gunk won't go anywhere on it's own but Seafoam manifold cleaner works a treat spray in while the engine is running and the gunk will be disolved and burned. with no egr it will not come back but some oil residue froncranckcase ventilation will persist. If you then fit a Mann and Hummel provent 200 catch can the oil goes away and another clean should make it shiny again. if it's really gunked you may have to remove the manifold to clean it. A friends nissan was so blocked after 100k the engine would no longer run, since the clean and catch can/egr delete it has stayed spotless
Done mine on 10p, manifold bolts all broke, easy fix drilled them out still attached to engine, new gasket and nylock nut and bolt job done took 30 mins with broken bolts
@@davidstech1445 They use to. Now they use 300tdi they skipped the 200tdi cause they couldn't run 24v dunno why guess something to do with the alternator and the v belt.
It was a bad 2.5 but it had a engine change to a disco 200tdi has the power steering put in as well. I have s vid on my channel about her. She’s set up as a off-road camper and hunting truck
What year is your discovery because it seems from 2002 the process is a bit more complicated using a different blanking pipe and 3 blanking plates for the EGR cooler? Did you first blank the EGR and then flash the ECU? Thanks, and great videos!
Almost every td5 ever was never activated at the dealership PDI before it was sold new. Even where they were, by now they probably don't open, so blanking them is a waste of time. And money. Also removing the ever valve will fail an MOT test in the UK. Literally the biggest waste of time and money

Cool I’ll pass this in to my 300tdi mates. I’m running a 200tdi ffr 110 1986
Is it a British Ex-MOD? Although I thought they had 2.5L NA Engines.

Is it possible to install only the blanking plate and leave everything else installed?
guys, please lubricate the clutch pedal pivots .. tia

Thanks, and great videos!
If I were to do this will it pass an mot in the uk?
how about a link to the actual part

As a South african how would I get a storm tuning map?
Contact Storm Tuning, they have customers worldwide and will be happy to help 🙂
1st comment. Please could you give some advice for me getting my 1st defender. I will be 17 soon.😀. Great videos
serious question .. have you looked into the insurance cost ??
Just a heads up, when I turned 17 I tried to get some insurance quotes for my 300TDi RRC. Cheapest one was about 5 grand, so good luck 😂
Defender will be much cheaper. Someone said 3000-3500 only! 🤣
Do you have discounted rates for classics? The older the cooler! 😎
It depends on the country. Ive paid 800 per year with my parents as the main client in Germany. I was 17 too...
Thanks Henry! In regards to anything in particular such as mods, buying or just generally?
God video
that cluch rubber is screeeming for lube
Be careful using itg and other oiled filters, they have a reputation for killing the MAF/MAP sensors on the intakes of TD5’s. !
Next job, sort the clutch pedal out.
probably easier to get that pos motor out of it

What if you just put it back on for the MOT?
But where does all the unburnt oil and "tar-like" substians come from? I dont belive it all came form the valv breather pipe - Nisse
@@TirsbaekTV the gunk is a combination of pcv fumes cooked by egr next mod you need is a Mann and Hummel provent200 catch can

You need to up your medication pal!
An EGR valve also cools the cylinders down don't forget this.
Abel Harbour less air in the cylinder, so a smaller bang, hence the lower temperatures
@@marco_zero-4x4 OH? So what does the airflow meter do then?
