I have phonak P90s, I have 9:25 so much invested in accessories the I couldn't change brands if I wanted to. TV adapter , Rodger On, partner mics(2). Years ago I had a pair of Starky aids that needed a device to connect to my phone for Bluetooth accessibility. I'll just stay with Phonack products thanks.
I am always in a minor state of panic whenever i go to a restaurant. While my speech in noise scores are good if amplified enough, i still feel uncomfortable in restaurants and small meetings. I had such a headache from concentrating on my last hearing test, i went home and slept for a few days. It felt like taking a test that i hadn’t studied for. I’m hoping that this becomes easier with time.
Another great video🎉 I find I need to constantly reevaluate, re-understand, then re-explain the quirks of my specific hearing loss, before my audiologist can better understand my experiences & challenges in noise. It's quite tough ,,, but seems only way to get a little closer to holy grail of workable hearing in noise.
That will probably depend and won't be available for all types of hearing aids? Open-dome hearing aids would struggle with that since they're... y'know, open, and not creating a full seal in the ear canal. Closed-dome hearing aids might one day get that, though? It doesn't seem impossible, it would just be... y'know, more expensive.
Oticon Real 1 instead of Oticon Real 3 is a huge difference. But the system has to be specified for you with Real Ear Measurement and personal earmold. With rubber Domes noise can go parallel to your domes directly to the eardrums. Also the speaker is nit verified to look directly to your eardrum. Maybe the speaker looks to the ear channel wall, so sound has to be reflected and each reflexion hast to be avoid in my eyes
Probably not going to get any better. Got mine from the VA also. Phonak lumity with ear molds. For me ear molds work better than domes. Even tried getting adjusted by private provider to see if they could do better. Found them on the website Dr Cliff suggests for best practices. Used Starkey, Oticon opn s1. Phonak lumity is a bit better. I'm sure the newest Oticon are equally the same. Mainly switched because I don't use Apple products. I have all the accessories tv connector, partner mic. It's pretty disheartening. Get them adjusted the best you can. Hopefully one day they can figure out how to restore hearing.
That is probably why I like my EduMic so much. It allows be to turn the background noise down and turn up the speaker…just doesn’t work when I’m in a group with multiple speakers. Will Oticon ever update the Xceeds or come out with a newer Power is that has a more up to date platform?
Great video!!! Does the Oticon Own have the ability to do this or is it just the over the ear model? It seems almost impossible for the smallest iic Oticon hearing aide to have the ability to do this since it is imbedded so deeply in your ear. Thanks
I'm shopping to replace my Widex Moment which have better Bluetooth technology over my previous Sam's Club Liberty hearing aids, but I've concluded that until the microphones are facing the front and are in front of the hears, the directional feature is less than fair. That is why I'm interested in eyeglasses that incorporate microphones on the frames. Someone below mentioned custom earpieces. I've noticed more effectiveness when I put my fingertips in my ears. My domes have holes. Perhaps they should not?
Yes, custom earmolds dramatically improve the performance of both noise reduction and directionality. Whether the microphones are in front of your ears or behind makes no difference. It has to do with timing differences of sound hitting the front vs rear microphones. You haven't experienced the benefit because either your ear canals are too open, or your hearing aids are not properly programmed.
My hearing is too loud , how can I quiet the actual noise down with out ear plugs. I wanna tone down how loud things are . Is there a hearing aid where I can tone loud noises down and turn them up when I need them too ?
My Signia 7AX perform really well in noisy environments, no REM performed though. I am looking for an opportunity to find someone who will do it for me and I expect them to perform better afterwards.
These claims sound amazing! Where’s the research that validates their claims. I’d love to know several unbiased labs have put these devices to the test to verify or deny the manufacturer’s claims.

Dr. Cliff the so called “best practices” audiologist in my local Sacramento metro area you listed is not doing Audible Contrast Threshold test (ACT), even if this ACT should be an important part of the first visit for optimizing the performance and fitting of the HA? A Typical attitude of the audiologist business-for-profit only not only overcharge patients but do not address major fitting problems. In my case this was obvious also when I returned home from my first major $290 audiologist (best practices listed) visit that my M&RIE receivers are allowed to be with larger size wire that do not fit me. Instead of addressing that right away within her $290 fee, she is asking me now to come back fro changing the receiver wire for a new charge of $290. And if you ask fir additional tests the best practices audiologist office will ask you for other $290 fee the patient is on her hook endlessly?
I was wearing and prefering Phonak for years. But I changed to Oticon Real. The actual product. While trying different models it was confirmed for me, that only with my personal earmolds I had the full spectre of assistance from my hearing aids. With Domes I can´t hear differences between the models and all of this helpful assistance systems didn't work really well. Only with my personal Earmold it was a huge win in hearing and listening effort. Most of the companies told me to use Domes. It's faster and cheaper for them. But you'll lose 50% of the possibilities of your hearing aid in my opinion. Can't wait for the new Generation of Oticon Intent / Encanto to test them. Hope they'll be the next step in evolution for listening in Noise situations and with more stable Bluetooth connection for my mobile devices. My first fitting was NAL-NL2, but I prefer DSL V5 with ISTS / REM Adjustment. Finetuning with true loudness.
Actually I am not sure about your paid promotions. I realise that you need income to do the information. BUT it’s just a paid advert for company. Long term hearing aid user and under whelmed by all the company claims. Can’t all be true!
Sorry, Dr. O., but I have to unsubscribe. Ever since you started with the RUclips face in your video thumbnails, I have to say, I've lost a little respect for you. Maybe it does generate more views, but, really, for a doctor of your caliber, don't you think it's a little tacky? Whatever, to each his own. It's just not for me. :(
That is probably why I like my EduMic so much. It allows be to turn the background noise down and turn up the speaker…just doesn’t work when I’m in a group with multiple speakers. Will Oticon ever update the Xceeds or come out with a newer Power is that has a more up to date platform?

Your effort is highly appreciateable, Wish you success and happiness in your whole life
Gonna try Oticon Intent with ACT fitting next week. Hopefully it's a great improvement. great video as always
Please let us know how it works out.
Thank you for a great explanation! This was better than anything my Oticon reps have ever taught!
Any chance of getting Active Noise Cancellation in hearing aids instead of noise suppression?
That will probably depend and won't be available for all types of hearing aids? REXTON good at separating noise from talking? If not what’s recommended!
I’ve had Oticon More… Oticon Own and now Oticon Real. I STILL cannot hear in a noisy group situation.

Got Oticon Real 1’s …. The best is only what you get from the VA. I have custom ear molds… not domes. Still a problem

Get Phonak. Oticon is awful

I'll be trying the earmold solution soon with Starkey hearing aids. That's what the VA audiologist has suggested.

Unfortunately when one co is sponsoring dosen’t really tell you which brand actually does the best at reducing background noise

will get new hearing aids phonak hope stop reedback prayer on monday old hearing aids not great for me awful loud noise
Have these claims about improved SNR made it to the peer reviewed literature yet? Oticon's DNN has been available for more than 3 years now.
Are there hearing aids on the low end of price that can help in noisy environments? Sounds like personal ear molds help (I have not tried).
Trialling Oticon for last 60 days. Found no difference from my older Phonak
What prescription were you using & were you at your full prescription verified with REM?

Does a man having his ears pierced have any health benefits? Like sight and hearing. Thank you,
No, but it does help ED.
Thank you, So it does help to get your ears pierced. @@toddb930
