There's also the Ash Hat Pikachu in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon! As far as I remember, they shinylocked it for your trainer ID...but the Ash Hat Pikachu doesn't have your trainer ID, it has a custom one belonging to "Ash", so it's possible to get a shiny Ash Hat Pikachu, it doesn't have a separate shiny model, just the sparkle and the star on the summary screen, but it's huntable! Kudos to Matt/Absolblogs for showing this off during his USUM trial quest
9:50 Kinda funny how it happened again in the let’s go demo on the switch with the partner Pikachu and Eevee starters being incorrectly shiny locked. The colors didn’t change but they shined in battle. I can confirm this is real since someone found it out first on a retail store kiosk, a RUclipsr found the first female Eevee and I found the second male partner Eevee. And a shiny Eevee that was in the party. The Pokemon you find in the wild can also be shiny but not many people knew the party Pokemon could also be shiny.
@@PikachuLover0927 I'll be honest, this is the first time I'm learning that the Let's Go demo was available on the eshop! I'm looking into it now, I knew they used it on tour to promote the game but I didn't think they released it publicly, absolutely crazy XD
@ I actually didn’t know at first either. I thought it was only available on kiosks but I found it out from someone else and I also wasn’t aware that the starters weren’t shiny locked correctly until I came across another RUclips video about obscure shiny hunts
In pokemon firered and leafgreen the shiny odds for unown are messed up because of how the letters are calculated. This means that some letters have better or worse odds depending on the trainer id. Im not sure exactly how it works but sirtoastytoes has a youtube video about it
Im surprised to see there was supposed to be an extra shiny roll while hatching eggs in the Generation 8/9 games, but at the same time, ive been so used to hearing the shiny odds being 1/683 or 1/512 for the longest time, but i feel like thats the lowest any shiny odds should go imo.
11:00 about BDSP and how it uses a 32 bit Local RNG while SwSh used 64 bit Local RNG to create the total number of seeds possible in a game. As a result to such low number of seeds in BDSP. Not all TID/SID combinations are given a fair 1/4096 odds. Skewing odds to be between ~1/4082 - ~1/4109 depending on your TSV. Also Local RNG only affects eggs and roaming Pokémon in BDSP. Normal wild , radar , starter , Legendary’s are at usual 1/4096.
5:44 Ah yes, the good old shiny egg. The hilarious bit being that this is the exact same shininess issue as Colloseum, shininess for some reason being recalculated when the trainer ID gets overwritten with a new one. And it realistically did not even need to happen because they could have just made the game skip the shiny calculation if the pokemon is an Egg and then roll the shininess before the hatching animation rather than after. Eggs in general have some really odd stuff going on tbh. They for some reason gave the Manaphy Egg an animated sprite in Gen 5 despite the Manaphy Egg not being an available mon in the generation(as far as I remember).
Some event Pokémon are not shiny locked. Certain uncatchable raid events, Home's galar starters, Partner cap Pikachu, that random Gen 5 piplup. Those are just off the top of my head
@@shinymk6562 Sorry for the confusion, the extra reroll was added in Sword and Shield but thats also when the glitch started, USUM was the same odds as gen 6
I wonder if they DID notice Masuda was broken and they can't figure out WHY or how to fix it so that's the reason for the extra roll added and why it hasn't been fixed yet? ie a similar scenario to why DK64 needed the ram expansion, they were never able to figure out WHY so they just packed it with the game.
@@graciegr4c3 It could be. I don't really know too much about coding, but SciresM (the person who originlly discovered the bug) did post the part of the code that's causing the issue. Again, I don't really know if it'd be easy to fix or not, but it does seem like the problem has at least been identified. Since it's a part of the game that most people won't really care about, my guess is it was probably overlooked, but there's no way to tell for sure 🙂
That's not the reason for the expansion pack being required in DK64. They simply did not have the time to properly optimize the Ram usage, so they offloaded some of the dynamic lighting data to the expansion pack as a dirty fix and shipped the game.
Will never forget one day at a friend my friend just started silver and this was the 1st time we both ever seen a shining pokemon a shining hoot hoot lol however... THIS WAS BEFORE U HAD POKEBALLS BRO.. HE WAS MAD AS HELL LOL
7:30 so called "faithful remakes" when i can't do the shiny Manaphy hunt

What's the random Gen 5 Piplup?
No wonder I went over shiny odds in sheild.
babe wake up, coconut squeaks posted yet another shiny pokemon video 😤🫶
Wait so if we masa method in USUM, do we get the extra reroll or not? Since you said the glitch started in SWSH.
