Awesome video
When will you look at all of the Dinosaurs from the video game Fossil Fighters🦕🔥🦖
Potential Infinite Fusions. Hell, Pyuku is already in Infinite Fusion.
Sokuchin
Something that's friend-shaped doesn't need to explain anything.
Your honor my client is round as fluff, need I rest my case?
I also am friend-shaped! :)
Brian David Gilbert wouldn't agree
Agreed
Try to explaim cat with this excuse
I don't know why but I really like Pyukumuku. I find it very charming and the fact it forms it's innards into a hand equally funny and raw as hell.
same
Well one thing about I don’t like is that sea cucumbers actually turn their insides into outsides as a defense mechanism so whenever I see it o just get disgusted
My favorites are Snom, Frosmoth and Pyukukumuku!!!!!
Also did you know that sea cucumbers fight with guts, LITERALLY!!! They take out their internal organs, just like Pyukukumuku! That's why Pyukukumuku is a sea cucumber!
@@louisperry6138 it's just a part of their respiratory tract that they do that with, it's a lot less gross if you look up the specifics imo
Pyukumuku is honest to god a top 10 Pokémon for me. It’s so adorable and it having a cartoonishly giant stomach-hand just adds to the charm.
Look at him go
It’s in my top 4 least favorites
@@mariorockersxd4919 Hugely disagree on that take but outta curiosity what are the other top 3
@@scootermcpeanuts6699 3.Slowking because of Tera Raids

Hi, I'm here again to explain German Pokémon names (and I'm a bit late, I'm sorry... ^^).
Starting with Pincurchin, it's name in German is "Britzigel", which is a combination of "Blitz", "britzeln" and "Seeigel". "Blitz" means lightning, "britzeln" is an onomatopoeia for sparkling sparks.
Nect up are snom and Frosmoth. The first one ist really simple, it's German name is "Snomnom". It's just an added "nom". I think it's more fun to say actually. Meanwhile, Frosmoths name ist very different, we call it "Mottineva". It derives from "Motte", the German word for "Moth", and "neve", which is actually Italian for snow.
Lastly, Pyukumuku. It's German name is Gufa and it's great. It combines the Catalan word "Bufa", which means slap, whith "Seegurke" (German for sea cucumber) and "Faust" (German for fist).
And that's it for these Pokémon. Every time I do this I have to stop myself to write the rest of my comment in German, it's tough sometimes. But, as always, thanks for reading and once again, I'm sorry that I'm a bit late this time. ^^'
Edit: I seems like I forgot to explain what "Seeigel" means. This word ist German for sea urchin.
Danke😄 Fun to hear the German names and the reasoning behind their names.
Nerd 🤓
@@patrickmcneil5089 Yes.
@MewTubeElias - NoSkillArts Okay but what is "seeigel"?
@@edwardnygma8533 Oh, seems like I forgot to explain it, thanks for calling it out. "Seeigel" is the German word for sea urchin. Also Fum Fact: "Seeigel" would be literally translated to "sea hedgehog".
I think it would be really cool if Pincurchin had a Rock/Electric evolution to further reference it's origins, cuz it could really use one
It could be an Ancient Power evolution like Yanmega and Mamoswine, we haven’t gotten one of those in awhile
Yeah I'm tired of having to run this in ou to rival sun
i like the plush skits in every video
also the running gag of lockstin secretly not being human
Whatever could you mean fellow human? Lockstin was also born on Earth just like us
He also enjoys human activities like drinking water

I personally love the idea that Pincurchin and Pyukumuku are an early concept version of convergent forms, or 'regional fakes'
"Regional Fakes" I love that name
Given how closely related urchins and sea cucumbers are, they probably can't even be called convergent, just 2 cute, blobby cousins.
In french the name of Frosmoth is really better, it's "Beldeneige" wich sound like "Belle des neiges" and mean "Beauty of the Snow/the winter", wich is pretty cool!
It somehow makes me think of the way some butterflies and moth are named like the Paon De Jour (peacock of day) or the Grand Paon de Nuit (great peacock of night) and the name of the flowers Belle De Jour or Belle De Nuit (beauty of day/beauty of night)
It's also a play with Snowball (Boule de neige), which makes it even better.
This 3 are, to me, an unofficial trio of friend shaped babies. Wished the other two got at least an evolution so that they could match with Snom
Are these three the most friend-shaped?
the friendliest shaped
Except for maybe Spheal, the literal Orb
Yeah Spheal is the only true friend shape
Clodsire.
Don't forget Bellibolt
I love how you have two echinoderm friends, and then Snom as a distant cousin who gets to join in on the fun.
Pincurchin’s my favorite Gen 8 ‘Mon, so I’m psyched to see them so popular! Tiny. Simple. Perfect.
I always thought Pincurchin’s mouth was mandibles, two parts moving that only move horizontally. Same as Snom and Wurmple. So they don’t have lips, like vertebrates do, but something cartoony enough to be cute. Durant is not cute, but has the same type of mouth.
I just learn sand dollars are sea urchins lol
How has no one found this??
New to me
pyukumuku is one of, if not my favorite alola pokemon. I used one as my main for most of the playthrough and somehow killed ultra necrozma with only my under-leveled pykumuku because of innards out
I still say they should have given Pincurchin a signature move like Neurotoxin, which is a Poison type move that causes Paralysis. Like Scald is a Water type move that burns.
Definitely too perfect, Snom is absolutely adorable and I don't understand it, but it's like the joy you get when you see something on the ground and it's just a little caterpillar, just a lil dude, livin life, gonna be a butterfly or moth someday.
OMG! 3 YEARS OF WATCHING IT FINALLY HAPPENED! A SNOM VIDEO
Lockstin: "Pincurchin is perfect for galar"
Gamefreak:
*sweats intensely since they didn't do that on purpose"
How do you mean? Was it meant to be in Alola?
I used to collect woolly bear caterpillars and raise them. Some less intense relatives of them live in the more temperate parts of Canada. The more temperate ones mature faster because they don't need to overwinter as intensely if at all, and faster yet if you're raising them in a pleasantly warm container full of food. They make such interesting cocoons with shells of their shed hair around them, he included a picture very briefly at about 13:06.
Lockstin with a ‘stache looks and feel weird, I’m so used to the goatee
Frosmoth has been my current favorite Pokémon since its Galarian introduction so it's awesome to see its pre-evolution get the love it deserves. Certainly not the strongest line but they're some majestic lil dudes.
I squealed when I saw Snom. I thought it was so cute and made it part of my run in Sheild. ^^
You cannot explain snom you cannot comprehend him you cannot understand the absolute cuteness and squishy perfection that is this friend shaped healer of Sadness the cutest thing in existence and beyond human comprehension the best cute round friend to have ever existed THE SNOM
13:47 It's "Mothnow" and "Mosnow" at the same time. Japanese doesn't have the "th" sound so moth is written as "mosu" and snow is "sunō", so it's "Mosunō" which could be interpreted as both of those names at the same time.
When i tried scuba diving for the first time i problably almost got screwed twice
First i saw what i thought to be a plastic bag, but when i tried to reach for it so i could put it in the trash of the boat i noticed it was actally a jellyfish and i just barely didnt get stung, then i tried to support myself in a rock clise to the bottom just to almost put my hand on a bunch of sea urchins that were in that rock
I’m happy for lockstin he stopped eating baby’s and instead Is eating oddish … wait a minute what category is oddish again
He's a bulb.
Every timw i see one of these videos about moth pokemon, i get very happy, cause i know it means I'll get to see a bunch of cute moth pics! I really hope they eventually make moth pokemon based on Luna moths, Death's-head Hawk moths, and Rosy Maple moths
Mothim at least acts like a death's-head hawk moth, raiding honey like one, though it doesn't have the metal patterning of the real thing.
Pincurchin holds a dear place in my heart. It was the last Pokémon I needed to catch before unlocking the shiny charm. And so, I look up its spawn location and the first one I find is, believe it or not, a shiny. His name is Kumquat and I love him.
I've always also seen Pincurchin's name as a play on the word pincushion.
It definitely is, they probably just forgot to mention it or maybe haven't heard of the word.
@@ArckniveLockstin did mention it
My reaction to Pincurchin explained: "As if I needed ANOTHER reason to be scared of the Ocean!"
The animation and editing is looking really good latley! Big thumbs up to the editors!
What animation?
"mustache lockstin is not real, he cannot hurt you"
mustache lockstin: this whole video
honestly looks pretty good on you dude, it was just surprising because i didn't expect it.
Ah yes, the truly legendary trio.
It's the bean squad, not quite to the same extent but clodsire fits in with them I think
9:55 actually they thought the fossilized urchins were thunderstones. Many things were thought to be thunder stones including ancient arrowheads. Thunder stones were thought to form when lightning hits the ground. So it’s not the lightning itself.
Pikachu: *grabs onto pincurchin, looking very puzzled about why it's not evolving*
Pyukumuku carried me trough battle tree, it tought me that, just because a pokemon don't have a directly damaging move, doesn't mean it sucks, quite the opposite, they are great
"And my wife hates the mustache"
-Lockstin
My favorite thing about Pyukumuku is that you can chuck them into the ocean once a day in Sun and moom
And in _New Snap_ they give you an adorable butt wiggle.
The idea of petrified lightning is cool, I love it. I’m definitely borrowing that for anything fantasy I work on in future
7:45 There's certainly a cultural difference there: Most of our fellow westerners are too concerned about luxury while the Japanese tend to be hardcore foodies.
Me personally, I'm a picky eater and a casual foodie and as a casual anthropologist by hobby, I also love indulging in the food of other cultures (though I'm not big on seafood but the California rolls at this one place in Little Tokyo are absolutely addictive).
Before Tinkaton's existence, these 3 were my number 1 favorite pokemon
4:03 I have never had my heart melted by a Pincurchin...Today, that is no longer true. Best boi Pincurchin doesn't have to be poison type if he doesn't wanna be. ;u;
This video really spoke to me, my favorite pokemon ever is Shuckle and I also love Pyukumuku and Pincurchin immensely. Maybe not the best in battle and definitely not together... but they're my dream team nonetheless
Shuckle is definitely part of this category imo! Endoliths might not be animals but they're still neat
Yeah! Someone's a fan of ollll' shuckle!
Just saw this video today, and it inspired me to get a shiny Snom. So I went hunting, and got one almost immediately. Thank you Lockstin for the shiny luck!
Watching this while having a marine bio class was a trip! I knew most the terms and got so excited when I heard "Cambrian Period", I had to pause and go "YOOO THAT'S WHEN IT'S THEORIZED THE FIRST JAWS ENTERED NATURE!!" Super fun watch! We love our silly bean Pokemon!
Ya know, for growing up in Michigan, where Sand dollars are celebrated/seen as a positive thing.. never knew it was an Urchin fossil.
Also I do absolutely love snom. An absolute baby menace.
Sand dollars are actually a kind of sea urchin adapted to burrow into the sand. The ones found on the beach are often the shells of recently alive ones, not necessarily fossils.
I wanna note that snoms german name is snomnom, emphasizing the nom part
And I love it ❤😂❤
"Just because it lives in the water, doesn't mean that they're water type."
*CRIES IN LUGIA*
4:10 Don't make the spiny baby cry!
So much is going on with these cuties, and I love it! Some cool, some gross, such a variety form little worms/sea creatures.
My girlfriend loves sea slugs, specifically the Sea Bunny, and once it was brought up I was greeted by her and her Sea Bunny Plush pushing me out of the way so she could admire the cutie on screen.
Ive done a sword run where I only use these three. Let me just say snom tried his best but other 2 had to carry him a little bit
"Who saw that and said "yes let's eat it.""
I mean probably the same people who said "let's try and be friends with wild animals." cause humanity will literally try and make friends with anything. Even if that thing hates us.
AAAND probably they same guy who said "you know this fish that kills everything that tries to eat and/or touch it? Yeah, let's find a a way to eat that thing!"
Some of the sea urchin cullers film their craft. It's very interesting. I like watching the fish eat the urchins apparently the fish learn to recognize the cullers and will actually follow them around like a Disney. Princess
They know easy food when they see it.
Ok that presentation with all the larvae Pokemon was sooo cute, I wanna know what else they watch in that theater!
The Very Hungry Caterpie?
12:10 Imagine cicadas that last _above ground_ at least an entire summer, that'd be a nightmare for the ears lol.
17:39 I'd play that, Calyrex is one of my favorite Pokémon.
Pyukumuku is my favorite of the three, he’s a funky lil man
Snom is a favorite with my friend group though, we turn everything into a Snom (our favorite is a Great Grey Wolf Sif and Snom hybrid, Snif).
The words "purple sea urchin" hit me RIGHT in the nostalgia! Freddi Fish, anyone? XD I'm sorry, that hit me too hard for me to not comment on it. Why are purple sea urchins currency in a kids' point-and-click adventure game about a mystery-solving fish? Why those urchins in particular? I didn't know "purple sea urchin" was the name of an actual BREED of urchin until now, so now I wonder these things…
Dude I love the 90's fleshlights. They are so hard to hold.
Hahahahahaha
this genre of pokemon is my absolute favourite. that and whatever iron valiant is
Huh. I learned about sea cucumbers studying invertebrate zoology in college. I was told about the ossicles, but never had it explained to me that they look like tiny honeycomb cereal bits.
Also, the same invertebrate zoology course mentioned above taught me about ribbon worms, another sea creature I've heard compared to pyukumuku. They also have a proboscis they can barf out, but like pyukumuku, theirs is retractable, and sometimes can be hand-shaped.
Perfect video covering a perfect trio, Grubbin is a honorary member of this new trope i feel
wiwaxia and peppered moths in the same vid? You're spoiling us
Another reason for Pyukumuku's popularity is its appearance in New Pokémon Snap-that adorable butt wiggle!
I didn't know Sea Bunnies were a thing, but I love them! They're so cute! I kinda wanna pet them.
12:58 the most relatable thing I've ever heard😂
Caterpillars like to pack-up pounds like mwah
Ever read The Very Hungry Caterpillar? Seeing this, I thought of that story.
It's the Spiderman meme.
The thumbnail.
The one with Goblin, Elevtro Lizard and Doc Oc(?).
I love all three of these mons (Frosmoth too), especially Pincurchin
They are all endearing little fellas who have very good character concept put in such a simple shape (round boi with points). I love all three but especially snom (praise the snom). I will say, when I first saw PukuMuku, I saw the sea Bunny connection right away and my little inner biologist was so happy upon the rep.
13:32 everyone loves the snow mommy
All three of these I like for one reason or another. Snom is the meme one to like but is genuinely adorable, Pincurchin is surprisingly strong, and Pyukumuku I got really attached to thanks to Smash Ultimate where you can chuck him at your foes.
22:03 I remember this song being at the end of Wilford Motherloving' Warfstache
19:18
A fleshlight.
You described a fleshlight.
4:09.oh no you made it cry 😭.aaaaw.
I love snom
Cute Round Boys! 🥰
I love Wooly Bear Moth Caterpillars. We just call then Wooly Worms. They are very soft and cute.
U know we in india have similar hairy caterpillar but they shot their hair like porcupines and that freaking hurts I wish that those wooly bear don't do the same
Every time I see Pyukumuku, I keep thinking that I remember seeing something that had a similar design to it with different colors from well before Sun and Moon, but I still to this day have no idea what it is I might be thinking of. It’s haunted me for years with no resolution in sight.
I havent seen any other comments on this, and I dont think you mentioned it, but im pretty sure Pincurchin is also a pin cushion, a little cushion you stick pins into while sewing
He definitely mentioned that lol.
3:16 "Um Actually", Inkay and Tympole may move like aquatic life and be based on aquatic creatures, but both of them are actually not aquatic in the Pokemon universe! Inkay uses psychic powers to float around in forests, and Tympole uses electromagnetism to float around in magnetically charged caves. They may look like they belong on water routes but they generally aren't, I'm fairly certain!
I see Wooly bear caterpillars everywhere during the summer in New York I referred to them as Rolly Polly’s although those are technically isopods. Also the rabbit thing is soooo cute!
I love wooly bears, I see them in Massachusetts every so often
i love pyukumuku after i played pokemon snap. it does little peace signs and waves it’s so cute
I’m so proud of myself for thinking of what Frosmoth was based off of before it was said and the story too I knew which is a wild one
4:11 HOW DARE YOU MAKE PINCURCHIN CRY!!!
I saw those wooly bear catapillars when I was kid, occasionally. At least, it was them unless there was another one in Idaho that looked exactly the same. I haven't seen them for decades now. Sad.
I remember playing with them when I was kid, which probably isn't the best thing to do with spiny things you don't know anything about haha.
WOOOOO PYUKUMUKU! It's definitely my favorite of the three blorbs
Pyukumuku is a contendor for my fav pokemon, so im glad to see a video about it!
No idea how one would mistake sea urchin fossils with fossilized lightning when there is fulgurite.
Ice Scales reminds me of chaff, as in the countermeasure against radar guided missiles. I've also seen fictional applications of chaff against laser weapons in spaceship combat.
I think it fits with the effect, given that most special attacks are ranged.
They're just round lil boys wanting to be held in the palm of your hand
love these guys. Awesome video!
I live right on the water on California's central coast, and the sea urchins that we have here, doesn't have sharp spines. They have spines, but they are blunted. You can pick them up and handle them without any worries of being stung.
It's actually kind of funny, if you place your finger between their spines they will move their spines around your finger. It's like they're giving you a hug.
what good timing! my snom plush came in a few days ago :)
ironically, the seller made exclusively snom, pincurchin, and pyukumuku plushes
These 3 pokemon are all really cute I love them and its cool seeing what they can be based on
I love pyukumuku, I used one on my moon playthrough (much to my dismay to find how shallow it’s movepool was) but I still liked it on the team. It was carried to many successes by my Bewear, alola muk and magnezone but fightium z counter was nice on it
4:06 why’d you make my baby boy Pincurchin cryyyy? 😢😂
Love the vibe man
Pincurchin is one of my favorite pokemon.
1:43 huge fan of the totodile in the background 😎
The way his mustache disappears through the video 😭
