    You've got yourself a really beautiful bike. I like the clean, sleek look of it, one day I hope to find a nice ole Airhead and fix it up just like you did. Congrats, and enjoy your bike.

    Years ago a friend bought a R90s he also had a BMW 600 which he let me take it out for the day with him, the bike was incredibly stable on the interstate , 100mph felt like I was doing 65mph.Always had alot of respect for BMW engineering.I feel the boxers were one of best road bikes ever.

    Lovely bike; I had an R75/5 many years ago and never thought it looked this good.

    I owned a 1976 bmw 750. I swapped the hand grips for a more conventional shape. I preferred the luggage rack and bags. Mine was no where near as clean as yours. Your cafe style is attractive. Enjoy!

    Awesome bike!
    Idles without vibrating helmet off so you know it's smooth as a Singer sewing machine.

    About as nice as it gets. I had a 1971 R65 and rode around Hollywood in the '80s. Took Miss Hawaiin Tropic 1984 on a breakfast date to Norms-with her on back. Ordered 2X2X2X2 which was two bacons, two pancakes, two sausages and two eggs. She looked at the new Miss America on the cover of La Times or USA today and said, "I think she's pir-ty." Some things you never forget. I remember her holding on to me- as we rode down Ocean BLVD to the Venice Norms.

      Shobendran Gopala Krishnan I highly recommend it. I have owned a lot of motorcycles over the years and this one is by far my favorite.

    I had an 1982 R65 I sold and now really miss. This R75/6 is really bad ass.

    I make custom side bags that replace or can be fitted over your side covers. Let me know when your ready. I've had my r75/7 for over 20 years.

    You could convert to twin disk which would definitely improve the braking. The other improvements to the brakes are to fit braided lines and a post-81 handlebar master cylinder. I have done all of the above on my R90/6 and it now has excellent brakes

      Almost impossible. The right lower leg, master cylinder and hardware has to be changed. These are extremely hard to find.

      @@andron967 I managed it on my R90/6. We have several specialised second-hand BMW motorcycle parts suppliers here in the UK

    No useless plastic instrument cluster. I sold my exact same bike in 2018.

      why is the original instrument cluster "useless"? Are they unreliable?

    Naw, got mine from a gent in Alabama, aged out and no place to work on it. Side stand is bent so I'm looking at options. No hurry. Did you change coils? Mine are cracked

    • @koideath
      @koideath  26 дней назад

      yeah I went through everything on that bike. I tore it down pretty far. They are very easy bikes to work on. I really regret selling mine.

    Wonderful bike and nice job making it your own. I acquired one like it 3 years ago, 1974, R75 /6. Just began going through it. My sidestand is very weak. Did you do anything to yours?

      @@NChirikos well I sold mine around then. You didn’t buy this one did you? Haha. I always put mine on the center stand.

    I see that your rear shocks are aftermarket style plus you have the optional kick starter. Sounds like mine does and they are addictive, something about the quality of fittings plus the integrated ride. Ive ridden and wrenched for more than half century and these R75/6 stills turns my crank.

    • @darkiee69
      @darkiee69 4 года назад +1

      In 74 the kikck wasn't optional. That came later.

    Whatever you do don't let it idle stationary all day as it's air-cooled and it WILL overheat.

    • @koideath
      @koideath  4 года назад +1

      Steve Kovacs correct if you need to let it idle for a long period of time make sure you have 2 fans blowing over the heads.

    • @koideath

      Not 100% sure but probably somewhere between $5000-$7000

  • @williamwoolcock

    I used to own an exact replica of your bike. Even the old switches. A lot of seat pans rusted out so seats are at a premium. I assume you're a card-carrying Airhead.

    Mine is a 74 R75/6 with only electric start
