Thanks for the comment. At the same time that I was making this video, I got to spend a few days on another near identical R75, fully restored, with the low handlebars. As someone raised on sport bikes and replica racers, and with a Ducati in the garage, I fully expected to like the better-looking low bars better. But I didn't. Not only was it more comfortable, but I also found it better for flicking the R75 through the corners. But then, maybe I'm getting old...
Good video. ... Looking at one locally. In your experience, would this qualify as a long distance touring bike? Video gave the impression the riding position would not be suited for 400 mile/day's travel.
Hello, and thanks for the comment. I think these bikes are great and comfortable for traveling especially with this bike’s higher American spec handlebars. I wouldn't hesitate to ride one long distances.
rode this for 10 years...5000 miles through mexico.. winter and summer. If it isnt quiet.. I dont want to ride it. But forget that chrome headlight protector do-dad.. it reflects the light back into your eyes.. seriously awful.
Beautiful bike and countryside. Excellent filming footage
Thank you!
Sehr schönes Motorrad 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I’d really love to have one of these in the garage, to keep my 1150GSA company. I think I’d want to ride this one more often
Beautiful bike 🙌
Nice ride, thank you ! But strange rider position looking from Europe where we are usually driving the airhead BMW with low rise handlebar.

My longest day on an R75/5 was
860 miles...it was a long day. 😮
Riding long distances with the low Euro bars is torture.
not when you lay down on the tank, tuck in your left arm and set the throttle lock screw at 75 !
Beautiful motorcycles, beautiful surroundings, but very dangerous helmets. You don’t always fall on the back of your head.
Wonderful
Where can I get a helmet like that?

@@gigpete Very good. I appreciate your input. Many thanks. Safe travels.
It partially depends on your physical condition. With a strong core, a guy could pound 400 mile days on an R75.
400 miles, no problem.
Hi Pete, I have the same 72 R75, thinking of re homing..if interested.
lovely bikes. Is that the pacific northwest?
Yes, Gig Harbor and Olalla, Washington State.
I have 2, r75 toasters and a 66 r60/2
Nice bike, but the North American version because of the high handle bars.
Like the helmet: at least if you loose the bottom half of your face you will still know about it.
