Jojo Siwa’s voice and career sounds almost exactly like Miley Cyrus, and it came out recently that Karma was originally a rejected Miley Cyrus song from about 2012. I remember a girl in my high school class years ago once said that Jojo’s career was a walking Justice ad, so that’s probably why the rebrand is so jarring.

Miley was about the same if not more cringe in personality from 2013 on throughout the 2010s, but had better producers.
Btw, a common thing that gets confused is that Jojo technically does own the song. But she didn't write it she just bought it.
Jojo has this habit of taking things that were already made and taking all the credit for it. Claiming she thought of her ex'x while writing her songs yet both her songs, both karma and the one she teased at her release party, were found out to be made by other people years prior. Jojo just bought the songs and edited them a little. And that's fine a lot of artists do that but don't claim and preach that they were all you! Then she came out and said her old, prewritten songs, are going to be a whole new genre, and on top of that she listed songs made years before hers that would fit in this "new genre". Like clearly it wasn't made by her if a bunch of these older songs fit into that genre.

Jojo’s marketing people dropped the ball. If she wanted to make a huge change, she should’ve done something crazy. Delete her social media, stop posting, fall off the face of the earth first for a bit and come back.
