Fellow tomboy here! Good to hear that you have stuck to being you despite the pressures from others.
A bit of advice if I may? If someone calls you a boy, or sir, just smile and shrug it off - its not likely to be intended with malice, some people just make mistakes in the split second instance they meet you. I've been called young man, sir etc, just put it down as a amusing anecdote. You know in your heart of hearts what you are and you are standing by it, nothing wrong with that and that is what I would call your 'authentic self'.

I am a 22 year old female and me and my husband were driving down the interstate. I was about 8 months pregnant at the time and we had stopped at a gas station for me to use the restroom and for him to get gas. As I'm walking into the gas station I noticed this man who had a beard and pink shirt, didn't pay much attention to him but went straight to the bathroom. When I got into the female restroom this man had went into the female bathroom after me following me and tried to come into the stall with me. I yelled for him to leave me alone and he did, when I walk out of the bathroom I go to the front where I tell the lady working the register what happened. I even pointed out the man because he was standing near the drinks and because he was wearing pink she told me he probably identified as a woman and had no idea I was in the restroom. I went back to my car immediately and whenever we were pulling out I noticed this man had actually tried to follow me to my car. I wish I could say the story was fake and fabricated because I had never been so scared in all my life.

My gay sons "boyfriend" was a f/m trans. When he first brought them home at 16, they were just starting T. Since their parents didn't confirm them the school helped them emancipate themselves and they removed their breasts at 17. Now they identify as non-binary and have changed their name again. While I never said anything outright, I think my son knew I didn't agree because he disappeared from my life for over a year. They are now both 20, and he came back into my life in the midst of a mental break. Son told me he was now trans and asked me to call him Anna. I did not affirm. In the last 4 months they have now broken up. And during a long talk the other night, he admitted he only said he was trans because his partner was pressuring him to "play the game" with them. He was afraid of being ostracized by his peers. It breaks my heart to see him so torn over wanting to have friends, hating himself for being a white man, and also coming to realize the reality of what he's been involved in. He's just getting started on therapy now, and he's cutting himself off from the "friends" who call him Anna still. As a liberal myself, the last several years have been a challenge politically, seeing the crazy that is seeming to overwhelm our children. It needs to be stopped.

I have one. I graduated college in 2017 and was witness to the woke takeover. I took a feminist literature elective which was really just a class on how great communism is. I never spoke in that class cuz it didn’t seem worth it. Until one day we were talking about communism in Eastern Europe and how the reason it didn’t work is cuz of America (which is total BS). My family is Ukrainian. My grandparents lived through Holodomor when 10 million Ukrainians starved to death in 2 years. So I raised my hand for the first time and said “my family is Ukrainian and we didn’t starve to death because of climate change or America. We had tons of food. We starved to death because communist soliders came in, took our land away, forced us to keep farming at gun point to redistribute the food, and would shoot us if we were caught eating any of it”. This girl who looked totally female but had short hair and went by they / them pronouns said to me “you need to keep your opinions to yourself because you are a cis white person and the world has heard enough from you”. And the whole class agreed. Umm a cis white person like every single Ukrainian? So no Ukrainians can have an opinion on communism in Ukraine? Or like the girl who was saying this to me but used they / them pronouns so they could have an opinion on it? That’s when I realized how crazy this whole movement has gotten.

In high school I was highly religious. Raised in a Christian home. I believed things I don't now, but things now make more sense.
I saw an event making the rounds about "wear x for gay marriage" this was before it was legal. I decided to make a FB event for "wear white for godly marriage bc it is only meant between man and woman". I invited Fb friends and left it open. Big mistake.
One hour later I was being sent porn. Death threats. Actual real stalking threats. Horrific things that a young teen shouldn't see. I didn't understand what I had done wrong. But after the page was deleted it didn't stop.
I was physically, sexually, and verbally abused in my school. Even after transferring because I'd become infamous in the state.
I was voted most memorable in my senior year and it's still in my year book forever. I was isolated and ostracized.

But when things get too far they get a good beating either by police or bystanders. They mostly call out transphobia, homophobia etc. But we will not back down and let their destruction influence our country. I am sorry for what you had to go through and feel better now. Focus on your own life and goals, do not let anyone "transfer" you or anything simmilar, you know who you are. However you are raised is atleast how you should think. I then realized that because of my appearance, they had assumed I was transmasc, but I am actually a woman. @@aramislucas3281 I definitely agree but I do still think that religion has a place in society and there are still good principles and ideas to take from religion. However, like everything else in humanity, it is still deeply flawed... and I don't necessarily think that religion itself is to blame but more the humans that practice and interpret it. A lot of good and evil has come from it but it ultimately comes down to free will and the choices we make. We owe it to religion for evolving from hunter gatherers to having advanced civilization and moral understanding. My biggest issue with religion, or really the people who practice it, is the people who become radicalized and extremists... When you become so engulfed by your religion that you completely shut out the outside world and stop listening to anything new or different to what you believe and stop challenging your mind to think critically and coexist peacefully with those of opposing beliefs and views... THAT'S when it becomes dangerous. It's not healthy to isolate yourself in an echo chamber and only surround yourself with like minded people and "yes men". When you get to that stage in the game, you prevent yourself from growing and learning and end up with a false sense of moral superiority and "truth". The other issue I have are these churches that are more interested in financial gain than being a positive and helpful part in their communities. But again, that's a people problem, not the actual church itself. I guess what I'm trying to say is having faith and living a faith based lifestyle, practicing and praying to whatever you believe in, I think, can be extremely beneficial in people's lives and has helped countless people from the darkest and lowest points of their lives to be pulled out of that and "saved". And I think that's beautiful and why it should have a place in society. But we definitely should try to improve the issues I've mentioned because that was never the intended purpose for religion (at least most of them).

I remember when I was in middle school. I had a girlfriend at the time (I’m also a girl), and early on in the relationship, I realized that she wasn’t a very honest person and I didn’t want to be around hateful people like her (I’ve always been mature for my age, and even then, I wasn’t the type to start a new relationship every other week; I was looking for something that would last awhile. I was also very aware of the people I surrounded myself with, and I had the sense that she wasn’t a very good person). She was obsessed with the LGBTQ community, and had tons of friends who went by they/them. At the time, I thought that disagreeing meant I was homophobic, and because of the media, I felt like I had to fit into a certain box to truly be myself. The media said that I must act a certain way if I’m actually gay. I hated it. Even though I knew it didn’t feel right, I didn’t want to be branded a transphobe. Towards the conclusion of our relationship, she told me that she was gender-fluid and wanted to go by they/them. It made me so uncomfortable to call her that. Even then, I was trying to find ways to kindly cut off ties with her, so that was somewhat of an additional reason to end things romantically. As I said, I was a very mature kid for my age and I knew what I wanted and who I wanted to interact with. I certainly didn’t want to commit to a relationship with someone who was a they. I suppose I’ve drawn this out longer than was necessary, but I wanted to emphasize certain points. To continue, she also had numerous mental health issues, and, to me, it appeared as if she used her sexuality as a way to cope, as well as to feel as if she fit into that specific identity. And as the story goes, she switched pronouns and genders every month. I could no longer keep up. I didn’t want to be with a boy or they/them; I wanted to be with a girl. Shortly thereafter, we ended things, and I rejoiced. With her out of my life, I was able to think freely once more. People like Anti Prophet, Amala Ekpunobi and Misha Petrov have opened my eyes to thinking freely. I have since learned of the madness of the left, and am now able to see the hypocrisy in their words. I do not consider myself a part of the LGBTQ+ community for a multitude of reasons, but most of all that it’s simply madness. Liking women doesn’t mean that I have to agree with the views of leftists; I’m simply a woman who likes women and I don’t make who I am circle around my sexuality. I’m a normal person who happens to like women. I’m not super outspoken about it because it’s not all that makes me who I am, and it’s not some that really needs to be brought up. Love who you love, but don’t fall prey to this plague.

Edit: Didn't really expect anyone to see this but since many people clearly have I will explain the story better.
I grew up in a very liberal area - My family were liberals, my friends were liberals. my school was very liberal constantly pushing stuff like critical race theory and basically derailing or celebrating people for characteristics they couldn't control.
For my Psychology class I had an appalling teacher who clearly wasn't particularly intelligent and would constantly go off task talking about political bs - one time going so far as to shame anyone who supported Trump in any way shape or form (we don't even live in the Us lmao).
So then one Psychology lesson the teacher and the majority of the class were talking about astrology and crystals. One girl who I had known quite well and we had always been close was asking me my take on astrology and I said that I thought believing in it was irrational. She said I was Misogynistic and then so did the teacher and other members of the class. They then waffled on about how amazing crystals were and the different magic properties they possess. Again I got questioned (more like interrogated) on my views and I stated that people in the 1600s believed in witchcraft and magic but I did not. I never had another Psychology lesson again I was told to sit in the library with a textbook (honestly a bonus, I learnt a lot more and got an A* that I wouldn't have got previously)

Additionally the state allows trans"girls" ie. boys in the girls lavatory and locker rooms. That is unacceptable. I want to make sure she has a proper education learning the things she needs to know and being told the TRUTH about the world. We'll cross the higher education bridge when we get to it and while I wouldn't forbid traditional college, I would be thrilled if she chose a trade school and learned something actually useful. We had a fun fair at my school where we were encouraged to wear a piece of traditional dress from our culture, and I wore my baptism blanket from Timor. I did not wear it in a 100% authentic way but made do with what I had (the blanket I have is also draped over a white shirt and skirt traditionally for formal occasions in timor). An Indian girl who spends way too much time online legitimately had the urge to tell me that I was culturally appropriating because I am half white, even though this is half of my cultural background. This girl did not even know what was traditional to wear in Timor, let alone where the country is. Honestly you can't win with people these days.

I like a bit of a masculine look and B. For the longer length and bigger sizes. I'm 181cm tall, so almost 6 feet tall and I wear UK men's size 10-11 in shoes. They simply don't normally make women's shoes in my size and women's t-shirts leave my midriff exposed, plus they fit my broad shoulders better. I explained that in the comments on YT, and a few woke loonies started telling me that I was in fact, not a woman and was non binary. Now they're essentially erasing the LGB and making it all about the T, which never even made sense to include in the community in the first place because it's an "identity", not an "orientation"! And the majority of those people are some sort of FAKE gender or identity anyway. I supported LGB people, I do not support what that community has become now, it's just a rabid, feral arm of the far left. And considering that ALL of my LGB friends and family are either classically liberal or even conservative, they want nothing to do with it, either, because they're suddenly ostracized even though they were the ones who were at the beginning of the whole freaking movement! They "unisexed" their bathrooms and now they're both fucking disgusting. I don't appreciate having to share bathrooms with men now. And I seriously doubt men appreciate seeing menstrual paraphernalia in the trash cans and sometimes floor, either. This is lunacy. Maybe the answer is three bathrooms. She and I stayed in touch and she says she’s worried that girls like her will be bullied and manipulated into thinking they’re trans or non-binary. She never questioned her identity and was a very happy person.
    2. I have a lesbian-asexual (she’s called herself both-I let that go) friend right now who has always been a modest dresser. She’s a lot younger than me (we’re both adults). She has told me she wants to dress “sexier” because it will help her appreciate her body more and make her more self confident. I asked her if that’s true why she didn’t do so sooner. I convinced her to continue doing what made her comfortable and she’s clearly happy in her own skin and not to let anyone tell her she has to dress or wear things she doesn’t like to feel better about herself and if she doesn’t feel good about herself she has friends and hobbies to help her. I’m worried about her though, getting mixed into the mayhem of today. She has since told me she thought about it and realized there is no reason to change anything about herself.

Always blunt and to the point, stated that he didn't particularly care about anybodies feelings(though he wouldn't ever go to the effort of purposefully invalidating someone, because thats paperwork), and often derailed class to tell us all the ways the administration was annoying him. Funnily enough, his office got more foot traffic from people in desperate situations than the counselors office and the "Safespace" classrooms combined.
All the kids in the school knew they could trust him to speak clearly and honestly about whether or not their feelings were justified, and also that he wouldn't tell anyone(because he probably forgets about it the second you leave the room). I was best friends with this girl since 1st grade. We were really similar and got along well. She was quite shy and would get bullied about it, and I was the one who would stick up for her. Fast forward to 5th grade, and she starts acting strange. She says she's bi, which I accept. However, she tells me she has a crush on me multiple times despite me not liking her back since I'm straight. I tell her each time that I don't like her in a romantic way but we can still be friends. Around the third time she says she liked me, she kissed me without consent. Obviously I was furious and stopped talking to her for a couple months. She apologized and seemed genuine, so in sixth grade we were hanging out again. Unfortunately I didn't realize it at the time, but she was trying to manipulate me into thinking I'm bi as well (because she still liked me). It worked for a little while, all the way into middle school.
Middle school is the time where she developed a tiktok addiction and started faking things like DID, tourettes, BPD, schizophrenia, ADHD, PTSD, and autism all at the same time. I regret the fact that I went along with it even though I could tell it was obviously fake, because I still felt guilty about not talking to her for a long time and I didn't want to ruin the friendship. She also came out as non binary and said her pronouns were they/them and her new name was Axel. That year in 7th grade, she told me she liked me again and I of course rejected her, even though she had convinced me I was bi. She proceeded to go behind my back and lie to her friends, who I didn't know, that I had accepted her feelings and we were dating. Luckily, she told her cousin this lie as well and he was in my class, so he asked me if it was true. That was the last straw for me and I completely cut her off and didn't talk to her. I took some time to myself and realized that I wasn't bi and that was also a lie made up by her.
Fast forward to high school where I am now, and she's even worse. I would like to just forget about her entirely, but she found my instagram and keeps messaging me on different accounts. She's told me that she misses me, that she loves me, that I should go off myself, and that she's going to hurt me. She also emails me and she's sent me gore. She stares at me whenever she sees me in the hallways at school and she tells her friends that I'm a transphobe and a homophobe and to stay away from me. She genuinely creeps me out and I regret ever making friends with her. It sucks because she was one of the greatest friends I ever had until she started being so manipulative.
Edit: Thanks everyone for the advice and kind words, its been half a year since I posted this and things have gotten a lot better now. It's a new school year and with my new schedule I'm no longer seeing her in the hallways anywhere. My school email was changed and I uninstalled instagram (social media is toxic anyway and it's better to focus on the real world), so I don't get any more messages from her even if she still sends them. Funnily enough one of the girls in my math class used to be friends with her, this girl left the woke LGBTQ friendgroup because they were being toxic and eventually realized that she isn't non-binary or pansexual. Here’s my woke story:
So I’m in college and there’s a bunch of LGBT+ and leftist students on campus. I am more conservative. It’s never bothered me that I was continually surrounded by woke classmates until my Literature by Women class.
Our Professor was late so all of us (it was all girls including myself) decided to talk and soon politics became involved in our discussion. Turns out one individual in my class is a trans women. I don’t take offense to this as I have my own problems in life, but this trans person kept ranting about how it was transphobic for straight men (for this individual is attracted to men and identifies as straight) to reject her advances simply for being trans. She kept saying she’s a real woman like all of us despite everything and she deserves real love from a straight man like all of us.
While I knew this response wouldn’t go so well, I quickly defended one of the guys she accused of transphobia who happened to be my lab partner. I said
“It’s not transphobic. The point of dating is to find someone you are interested in spending your life with. Everyone has dating preferences as everyone has an ideal set of criteria that make a person attractive to them and a potential life partner. For example, I can’t date someone who chews with their mouth open. If I refuse to date this attractive dude because he chews with his mouth open, am I being a bigot? We all have our preferences and have a right to choose who we want to date. So do you and so does he. Besides, if you have to bully someone into dating you by saying they’re a bigot if they refuse, than that’s already the start to an unhealthy relationship.”
Now the room went wild! This trans women starts calling me a bitch and transphobic and that I’m terrible and that once she tells everyone on campus how much of a bigot I am, no one would want me. And everyone else seemed to agree with her. She started screaming “I am a woman , in fact I’m more woman than you.”
Then I decided to pull a Matt Walsh because what the heck, I’ve got nothing to lose and said “what’s a woman, what makes both you and I women?”
And she said “Because we identify as women.” And everyone else seemed to agree.
And then I said “if nobody apart of me can define a woman as anything other than, someone is who identifies as a woman then none of you should call yourselves feminists.”
Then our Professor finally came in exactly fifteen min late and we started class with everyone glaring at me.
    There’s my woke story.

She reported me and apparently harassment is defined by the "victim", so saying hello to someone can technically be harassment. Anyway, there was a no contact agreement, which the girl broke by complimenting me and a band performance, to which I replied "thanks". I was then accused of breaking the no contact agreement and suspended from the university. I am now back but am still not allowed onto campus, otherwise I will get expelled.
I know this is not directly related to the LGBT community, but the same university did NOTHING when a man was getting dick pics from another dude. Also this girl is a rich international student, so she gets more privileges. Plus the university is pretty woke and supports Pride.

My cousin identifies as bi (yet she has literally never dated a woman). I told her that I am straight, but she literally told me, "well how do you know that you are? Have you ever been on a date with a woman? You won't know until you try." And I was absolutely shocked. We're supposed to believe that LGBTQ people were born the way that they were, but yet they're trying to say that if you are straight, you just haven't explored enough? Wth?

I wasn't shy at all and gave in depth responses concerning the various instances of institutional racism, like red lining, Indian reservations, other poor spots of early history. This made me a favorite.
The third week, the prof decided to scribe "Islamophobia" on the board. I was gonna let this one go, but they insisted we were all guilty of it in some capacity living in a post 9/11 America. She made us go person to person. When it came to me, I warned that I didn't feel terribly that it affected me. She insisted again. "Well ma'am, it's hard to be afraid or threatened by an idea I spent my career killing." Which SHOCKED her and prompted others in the class into a righteous fury.
I told them to shut up in Arabic. Asked the prof how many pillars there were in Islam and various other cultural queries. After checking them with FAR more experience and exposure they just defaulted back to decrying, harassing and otherwise fucking with me in and out of class to the point I was removed.

Canada was a pretty much normal country, except out of nowhere in 2016, woke stuff started to appear. I was in highschool and wasn't into politics yet (I started at 17) and I didn't even know what Feminism was. I entered a feminist group in 7th grade because I was bored at home. So, we had this trip to a feminist camp (3 days). You can imagine that we had all this feminist propaganda (women are opressed by men, blah blah blah) and on the second day at night, we had this concert in the camp. An artist named Roxanne was gonna come. So I said to the teacher "oh, a female artist is gonna come" and she replied "No, this artist is non-binary". At first, I was confused because I had never heard of that term before. I asked what it was and she said "it's a person who doesn't identify as a woman or a man". I was in utter shock and confusion, so I refused to attend such crap. Very glad I told my parents and never fell into such shit.

Sometimes I wish I could go back to school just to be a thorn in the flesh of these people, constantly challenging their opinions and emboldening other skeptical people to be present in the discussion. I didn't care about politics 4 years ago, but the last three years turned me into a staunch conservative on fire for what is right. I'm 24, and school was still mostly normal when I graduated. I went to school with lower income people with too many real problems to be worried about being woke. We had one teacher who I respect a lot in hindsight. He was an absolute unit of a man, well known and well loved for speaking his mind so he was not afraid to continue doing so. We never talked about politics much but the values he embodied would align with what is now considered conservative. Thanks to Mr. Watkins for being such a great role model, must be a rarity in the high schools of liberal Toronto. (Edit: Mr. Watkins, not Watson. I didn't think anything of it in the beginning until almost EVERY cosplayer started doing it. It felt really off and weird like why is everyone doing it? I even see newcomers start off straight/gay and normal looking before they cut their hair, dye it bright colors, change pronouns and sexualities. It's like you can see them dive down in a rabbit hole in action. And don't get me started on how annoyingly triggered they get. If anyone makes a little mistake, like accidentally misgender someone, they lose! Their! MINDS! And this is coming from personal experience, not to me, but another cosplayer dealt with it. And honestly, I kinda looked up to them cause I saw myself so much in them, that they made me want to start cosplaying. But now since a few months they identify as genderfluid and use they/them pronouns and they get sooo mad everytime they get „misgendered“ like someone using different pronouns for them in a TikTok comment. They‘ll say things like „it’s THEY/THEM, I‘M NOT A GIRL, if you really like me as much as you claim you‘ll look at my bio to use the right pronouns“ and honestly over the last few months I felt their energy got so negative and kinda tilted and triggered and they also expressed to have mental issues several times and it kinda makes me sad to see them from being happy with being just themselves to getting so upset every time someone even unknowingly uses wrong pronouns or something else. Nowadays I just can’t really enjoy their content like I used to, I’m always scared to say something wrong when I comment trying to compliment since they point out so many comments that make them uncomfortable.

My experience/awakening came in my senior year of high school in November 2016 (so you can probably guess what happened.) I had gone to Girls State (a political summer camp) over the summer and made a lot of friends, and we all had a group chat. Right after the election, I posted on Facebook that maybe Trump wouldn't be as bad as everyone thought (my actual wording) and got a notification in the group chat that accused me of lying about my political affiliation all summer. I tried to explain myself, saying that I didn't have any political opinions during the summer, but had recently changed my mind, and these girls SWARMED me. These people who I had spent nights playing party games and laughing with all started comparing me to the nazis and accusing me of horrible things. I had to leave the chat because I couldn't handle the pile-on of 12 former friends all calling me awful names. To this day, I will never forget the girl who started all of it, called me a literal nazi, said I wanted to kill gay people, and basically ruined a good handful of new friendships, all because I said "Trump might not be that bad." Screw you, Joliet.

I usually don't comment but I'm so frustrated: For context, I am a short haired woman with 2 nose piercings and tattoos and I'm literally so scared to be associated with these woke people because I happen to have these physical features. Literally some people ask me if I am non-binary or when I tell them that I am infact into men, they tell me it's bullshit and that I'm totally a lesbian... I get soo offended. These people think they know me better than I do. My facial features and my body look super feminine also because I am fairly tall and skinny but curvy too and wear make-up every single day. I don't look masculine or non-binary at all nor do I present myself as such, so why assume I am? I just like short hair, piercings and tattoos on myself it's not that deep, it's just my style, which a few years ago was considered fine and even cool but now this stuff gets linked to the woke community, which i find to be so sad, because i don't want to change my look. Now I just feel so pressured to grow out my hair again and also to only dress feminine so other people don't think I belong to this cult. I'm trying to tell myself everyday that it is okay for me to have short hair, piercings and tattoos and that I should just do what feels comfortable for me. I didn't cut my hair off to be "cool" or belong to any group or anything I just GENUINELY like how it looks on me.

I have a few, but I will tell my most extreme one. I was at the 2020 BLM protests in Austin, during the very first weekend of protests. I was with my gf at the time (she’s the one who wanted to go in the first place) and we had just gotten there and were kind of settling in. I was uncomfortable because protests were not really my thing but they were for her. She ends up walking about 10 feet in front of some pretty wild looking group of three guys on steps, wearing some strange gear. Very militant looking, had spikes and black leather. It took me about 20 seconds to realize these guys were either New Black Panthers/Black Israelites, or some similar Black Nationalist movement.
They had, and I’m not joking, two young white women (19-22) and one white dude (27-32) licking their combat boots. The black nationalists laughed, and said “this is what y’all are made to do, we were the first humans we are ‘the kings!’
I sat shocked and horrified. There were some black people in the crowd who were kind of uncomfortably mumbling (keep in mind austin has half the black pop. as the national average) and there were BLM organizers for the very protest we were at on the same steps, about 15-20 feet to the left with another megaphone. Nobody called out the black nationalists. Nobody said “wtf are you doing this isn’t what this movement is about.” Everyone just kind of cringed around it. If you think this story is fake, there WAS an Infowars story on it at the time, I remember because i felt so glad there was SOME documentation of such weird shit happening.

He accused ME of being the creep and stealing my ex's name, despite having known me before my ex went trans. He could not be convinced that I was BORN with this name DECADES ago and was certain that I had stolen the name my ex had for a few days at this point.
He has hated me ever since and throws a woke hissy fit whenever we cross paths or whenever I am mentioned because I'm a horrible name stealer. While away at university I met my now husband and didn't tell my parents, instead I told them I was questioning my gender identity and getting a sex change. They were super supportive and I faked deepening my voice with a digital filter when calling home and made up a lot of BS to affirm their views. When I went home for a visit, I had my fiance meet them at the station. He impersonated me and within minutes my parents were saying how proud they were of him and that they loved him just the way he was (He is 4 inches taller than me and has different eye and hair color - we don't look much alike). He took them out to eat at a restaurant where I was waiting for them. The looks on their faces when they saw me was priceless. I identified as nonbinary on and off through middle school, and even called myself lesbian (I am and was cisgender and heterosexual). Because of the confusion, even when they abandoned me, earlier this year I identified as trans and was encouraged by other trans people online. The new friend group I joined, which was even worse than the last, disowned me when I voiced my confusion on my gender and said if I detransitioned I was a transphobic homophobia traitor.

They’d tell me their size, and I’d give them either a male or female uniform depending, because they were different. This one kid that was biologically female came up and told me her size. Now supposedly she’s supposed to be female to male trans, but I knew her years back and had known her as a girl then, so I handed her a female uniform. She gets so mad, and demands I give her a male’s, so I do. Then, she wants to join the color guard which I happen to be the leader of. I misgender her because all she’s wearing is a binder that would hide her gender. Otherwise, she looks just like a girl. So I referred to her as the way I had always known her, I even apologized because I hadn’t meant to do it intentionally, but…she wanted nothing to do with the club after that. She was in this weird crowd anyway, and had manipulated some young freshman girl into being lesbian so she could date her. My brother came out as "queer" a number of years ago. I didn't think on it at the time, it's his life he could do what he wants. But then he started dating a trans individual (f to m) and that has completely upended my relationship with him. Now I walk on desperately thin ice out of fear of upsetting him or his trans partner if I don't affirm their identity. I know my family all support him and want him to be happy, but I'm concerned with what sort of pro-trans activism could be happening behind the scenes that I'm not aware of. Does this partner of his believe in gender transitioning children? Do they believe that women are just "birthing-people"? Do they believe that the trans community is the most vulnerable fraction of society that must be coddled by all?
My brother and this trans-person just got engaged a couple of weeks ago. They are going to be a member of my family, and I am seriously concerned about having them around permanently. I can't go along with their delusion for the rest of our lives, I fundamentally disagree with everything the trans community advocates. How do I broach this subject without potentially alienating myself from my family when they undoubtedly lash out at me for not "affirming" the trans person? I feel trapped in my own family because I am the lone conservative amidst a group of staunch liberals. It feels suffocating and demoralizing, having to keep myself silent while they say all manner of awful things like it's fact. 😔

Leave and never tell them why. That way you can still have some form of relationship with them. But you have to look out for yourself. If the rest of your family doesn’t value YOU enough to even listen to what you have to say without lashing out at you they don’t deserve a relationship with you. Your brother is not your responsibility, and you owe your family nothing more than you’ve already given.

I would say just be as vaguely polite and non committal as possible, don't engage in conversation with them, always find something else to do/someone else to talk to when they're around.

Stop staying silent. It was your family first.

Unfortunately if they are that political, there might be nothing you can do. I hear families breaking up over politics all the time. Especially now with this mindset that anyone you consider "toxic" should be permanently cut off from your life instead of trying to work those issues or meet them halfway.

I relate to that feeling of being alone in your beliefs. That was me (not in my family exactly, but in my friend group certainly). The best way I've found to put it, is to start with something that your liberal family will agree with. the hypothetical of a Christian saying that an atheist not claiming Jesus as his lord and savior is invalidating the Christian's identity. That not professing belief in God and refusing to pray is offensive.
Of course that's a ridiculous thing to ask! Even other Christians should know that's the crazy thing to ask! Ultimately, my identity as a Christian isn't dependent on other's perceptions of myself or my beliefs. All I would ask is someone not like, insult my beliefs. But being forced to not insult and being forced to participate are two very different things.
Here's another route if they dislike russia (mileage will vary if they like communism though): Russia has a long history of political oppression. These strict rules of what you weren't allowed to say, however, left room for some of the greatest poets and writers who could use symbolic language to convey so many layers of meaning. However, once the communists took over, and really Stalin, it was no longer "You can't say that." Now it was "You can only say this" and as such art started to suffer.
Bascially, if it bothers you enough, perhaps at least try to convey to your family that it's not out of hatred or bigotry, but rather a difference of beliefs, and that compelling someone to participate in something they don't believe in is wrong. With these two examples I was able to get someone who disagreed with me to understand how I feel.
