It took me sustaining a hamstring injury and of course advancing age (I’m 46) to reach a llevel of peace with my changing practice. Your “less is more” mantra radiates with me more and more. It’s ok to use blocks. I love them. It’s ok to do a cobra instead of an up dog. I actually prefer cobra now. It’s ok to rest my hands on my shin during triangle pose rather than the floor My hamstrings like that better. For me, the embracing of pose modifications is the practice of yoga in my life today. It’s taken me a long time. It’s nice to hear your wisdom, especially in your recent quarantine practices about listening to what your body needs and know that it’s still yoga. Thank you. Catherine

I played my own John Mayer playlist along with your class and it was a deliciously perfect accompaniment. Many thanks from a fellow yoga teacher who has found it exceptionally difficult to cultivate a practice recently. Your classes have helped bring me back to making yoga a higher priority in my own self care.

Love this. I, too, am healing from too much stretchy not enough strength in yoga. I've been practicing for 25+ years, and I've got some high hamstring tendinitis. "Yoga butt" some call it... I've really had to back away from running and yoga and work on strength training. The pain is gone and now I'm easing back into my practice, but it really makes me reflect on all those years of Ashtanga and Bikram and injuring myself over and over. It is about cultivating peace- inner peace and peace with our bodies...
I LOVE your longer classes and how you always change things up. I so look forward to you practice and am always grategul that you share your wisdom and teachings with us!! NAMASTE and stay safe and healthy

I especially appreciate the constant reminders (since I am 51 with a lot of injuries from a past of pushing it too hard) that we are in this for the long haul -- that we must care for and not push our bodies. Hello, I just completed the class and I only have one complaint. I wouldn't label this as a power yoga class. This felt more like a vinyasa flow class to me. I appreciate your class and think you are a great instructor. I just feel that calling it a power yoga class is mislabeling it. Thank you for providing the content anyway.
