I noticed you said step down transformer instead of step down converter. Would it be better to buy a transformer instead of those plug in converters? I hear the converters can have a very loud electrical buzz. Reason i ask is im looking at buying a lionel train set.
Hello 👋🏻 Yeah I think thats what the website I bought it from stated. I currently use my DCC controller to power the track. It might be worth reaching out to Lionel to see if they recommend a UK power supply to run the set 🤔 Thank you for watching the video 👍🏻

But if you’re still unsure maybe purchase using a credit card for better protection. I used PayPal to buy my stuff 😊 You won’t be able to use the power supply in the box without a step down transformer. If you have any other questions just let me know. I’ve had this set for a month and I’ve had nothing but issues with it especially when it comes to the track and the constant derailing of the locomotive. Ho scale Lionel sucks!
I guess this scale is pretty fragile. The couplers are plastic and broke easily. The tiny wires on the tiny connector between the engine and coal tender break loose and so far haven't been able to reconnect wire to the plug. Also had the larger battery operated polar express, and it was great but then the track on that model is plastic and warps easily and then you have problems with track derailment and ill fitting pieces. That's the way it is with plastic so many plastic failures

Used it around the Christmas tree with other locomotives on the track as well. You may have better luck with a replacement if you haven't been put off by all the issues you've been having. I may be getting these mixed up, as I'm sure there is a Lemax version too! I think they may be limited to the US only though?! The Maganelock idea for the track is great, saves all the fiddling about with connectors, especially if the joins are plastic. I had a mini Christmas train set for the tree one year and the plastic joiners kept breaking, but it was only cheap, looked the part though. “All Aboard!” 🚂🚃🚃🚃
Hello 👋🏻 Lionel do the characters for their O scale Polar Express but I haven't seen them for HO scale yet 😥 The Maganelock works well and is more stable on a hard floor rather than a rug or carpet 😊 I do love to see a train around a Christmas tree 🎄 Thanks for watching the video 👍🏻

Are all Lionel HO Scale Sets now magnet tracks?
