I'm digging all the non-Jay content this week. Not that I'm sick of Jay or anything, it is just nice to see everyone else taking a more direct role in the content.
@Eric Fate… Agreed… Nice To See Phil On Cam… Instead Of Behide It
I feel you! Jay is why I subbed to this channel. Although I thoroughly enjoy both Phil and Nick make amazing hosts and I can't really complain when they do because they do a great job! Good stuff guys, if you can maybe do a video about intel arc? like specifically against my 1080ti. is it time to upgrade to intel or wait till the 50series?
@@twistedmack wait for 50series😊
Great review. Nice to see your crew can Phil-in for you.
...you beat me to it...

In the Nick of time too....
I'll see you out.
Jay looks different today. 🤔 Must be a new lens or something
it's the glasses
It's the chair, higher back making him look smaller 😂
He dyed his hair.
No I think he shaved
Derp
Man that 48mhz ram was a deal breaker for me 😂😂
😂
*4800 mt/s
4800 Mbps
@@riichobamin7612 did the Laughing emojis not convey that I was joking😏
Really odd lol, fast for a 486 but slow for a Pentium machine of the same era but would be rounded to an even 50mhz in both cases.
I’m digging the Phil and Nick content! Jay is an incredible host and clearly why most of us are here but Phil and Nick have great personalities as well that you can see without seeing behind the camera so it’s great to see them in front of the lens for a change. It would be awesome to see them with their own short series about something they’re passionate about in the tech community.
"... but I digress. AAAH! IT'S HAPPENING!" That legit made me laugh. Also, nice to see Phil in front of the camera again.
i was just waiting for it to happen haha
About time we get more Phil. Hope the health issues alluded to in previous episodes isnt too serious.
Your input is really good man. Seriously. Just came back to watch the rest of the video, and it’s a good summary of it.
If you did battery testing with G-Sync on - you were preventing the discrete GPU from shutting off to save power. That's why G-Sync shouldn't be enabled globally. I believe you should be able to enable it on a per-game basis using the 3d settings per game tab in the nvidia control panel.
10:36 Phill mentioned disabling Nvidia GPU if you missed it
HAHAHA 'But I digress'!! AMAZING!! Guys I'm loving having the team present, this is so fresh and enjoyable, because all of you have such a great screen presence. Keep it up, this is bloody awesome!
I love to see these breakdowns! I wish I could see them on a mass scale with all these laptops out. So many choices but they all seem lacking. This helps find the equivalents.
Im loving this trend of putting the behind-the-camera talent on-screen!
Another Phil review, nice!
Big fan, Jay! Here's to good future!
His name is Phil. Try again
@@Ladioz you missed the joke 🤣
Definitely more Nick and Phil in the videos please. It adds alot of diversity and various options and thoughts to the channel and considering you are all 3 tech junkies like myself and many others aswell as consumers it makes for great watching.
Awesome job Phil!
Nice job Phil!
great review and a nice fresh feeling to see other reviewers!
Yaaaaay Phil !!!! Great video man, hope we see more of you in future videos. I mean more videos with you in them, not MORE of you....keep the shirt on dude
I asked for more Phil videos and JayzTwoCents came through 😊
Nice to see ya Phil great video
I bought a Lenovo Legion 7i pro with an i9 and rtx 4070.
It literally demolishes everything I've thrown at it.
Couldn't be happier with my purchase 😁
I got one with a Ryzen 7840HS and the RTX 4070. Same experience as you, I've thrown the most resource intensive games and it's absolutely demolished all of them.
It's insane that we're carrying that much power around LOL
Love u guys ! Nice review ❤
48mhz RAM? Wow the speeds we are getting now are insane
That's what she said
And keep in mind that's the SLOWEST it can go, it's the base speed.
Odd even for the early 1990s as it would be rounded to an even 50mhz which would be fast for a 486 but slow for a Pentium class machine of the era.
Always love having Phil and/or Nick getting some screen time!
I hate to say it, but the VRAM is unfortunately too low. To be clear, this isn't a dig at this laptop or Origin, it's nVidia and AMD's choice for this generation (It affects the upcoming Radeon 7600M XT & 7700S as well unlike their desktop counterparts). 8GB just isn't going to be enough for newer and upcoming titles, even at 1440p. Hogwarts Legacy and Star Wars Jedi Survivor are the beginning of this trend, not the exceptions, so I worry for the longevity that this generation of mobile GPUs will have.
While I've been interested in upgrading my slowly deteriorating RTX 2070 mobile system, I'm going to (hopefully) wait out the next generation of mobile GPUs to sort this stuff out. If we're lucky, maybe we'll get a mid-gen refresh like Ti or Super variants that'll have 12GB or more of VRAM, but I'm not holding my breath.
Yeah that is one of the reasons why I didn't go with a Laptop that uses a GPU that has 8gb of vRAM because of it starting to be long in the tooth. I have seen benchmarks of the Last of Us before the patches even happened and 8GB cards were struggling to run that. Granted that version of the game back then was an unoptimized mess. I ordered an Origin PC Eon-17X gaming laptop from 2021 that has a Desktop 11700K and a laptop 3080. Yeah the CPU is 2 years old but it is still serviceable as I am coming from a 7700HQ and a Laptop GTX 1060 6gb which served me well for close to 6 years now.
Definitely need more NickzTwoCents and PhilzTwoCents. Another great video!
Best wishes/ prayers for jay and family
Wonderful video! Could we get a look at the internals in the future 🙏
Love the phil and Nic Videos I also want to say we need Nic and Phil to have flagship builds like Jayz I know they might not want it but it would be awesome to see Bad ass builds for them
Great to see Phil host the video!
Wow!!! That Laptop Looks SO BIG in Phil's hands.... ❤😅
I wonder what else would look big in his hands.
@@dauntae24 Ayooo 💀

I like thicktops instead of the ultra thins due to usually having better cooler and even the audio tends to be better as not everyone likes headphones. Bring back the mxm slot for all the usual reasons.
Yep, I agree with you wholeheartedly, I have a chunky 3080 laptop for the cooling and other stuff.
Awesome Video!!!
Nice change of pace, Well done guys.
Phil is rocking it! Like how much more loose he is tackling the review.
Who is this guy??! I don't think I like him very much
I love him.
Great review Phil! "I don't want to turn into Jayyyy" lmao
Solid review, I'm just not sure what the "Thin-N-Light" in the thumbnail refers to, because that thing is only thin and light if you compare it to a Compaq Portable.
Hey Jayz and phil, what are your thoughts on laptop cooling pads?
Your looking good Jay! I know you've been working out lately, its really begining to show! 🤣🤣
Loving the vids by the rest of your staff! Keep all these up, change of pace every so often is awesome! Seems like a good laptop. I'd say for the pricepoint it's decent, but it's not a true "gaming" laptop ... this aint it.
Jay got a complete makeover? He seems so small and looks way different, lol. Good to see Phil getting some screen time besides occasional appearances :D
Well, Phil is turning in to Jay, but I digress!
I love Phil videos. Also Phil. bro... You could totally pull off shaving your head and keeping the goatee. Put on a Karate robe, and we have Tech Miyagi! We NEED Tech Miyagi!
GN got Tech Jesus, but Jayz2cents got Tech Miyagi!
Oh no! Does Phil need an “I digress” jar now?!?!
Great job on the video Phil, except for the 48MHz ram and trying to to into Jay. lol
But seriously, great job Phil!
We love Phil and NIck more like this and the laptop video!
No Phil, you are WRONG!
A notebook without a Numpad is a TOY not a Tool!
I just received my Asus Dual OC RTX 4070 today, loving it so far, it's bigger then my (DELL) RTX 3060ti.
I miss when JayzTwoCents did silly stuff like daisy chaining radiators together, i wish he would daisy chain 2 Mo-ra3 420 radiators each with 2 D5 pumps in single loop to see how far you can get down a liquid devil 7900 XTX edge and hotspot temps at 24,5c ambient, totally not asking Jay to test stuff for me to see if its worth it :)
"It's great to see this kinda performance in a laptop"
someone tell the guy that last year's 3070 ti performed exactly the same. At least in mid-range laptops like Legion 5 or MSI GP series.
Would you guys test the Asus Zephyrus laptops? I've had a G14 for the last 2 years and its still pretty sweet. I'm curious to see what you think of the newest version.
I bought a Sager NP8875 Laptop in Oct 2023, with 4070 with 32gb 5200 ram, with 4TB of Samsung 980 nVme...Loving it! Blows my mind I have that much ability fitting in a laptop bag. Laptop platform allows me to have a great work experience and when life allows...Game on the go. I dont expect a 6lb laptop to be 100% matched to a heavy desktop... We should all be impressed that laptops have come so damn far.
well hey there phil! good to see ya in front of the camera man!
Awesome video Phil. Just look at the camera more while speaking. You look at Nick and everywhere else around the camera more than at the actual camera.
Admiral Phil playing World of War Ships would be a good intro.
Jay make a video on how to prep and recycle old pc's and laptops. I have older stuff. Should i change hard drives or just remove them and sell on ebay?
Is Jay ill or something, or perhaps on vacation? I still like the videos that Nic and Phil creates. Well done! I was just wondering.
(Sorry for the background music "complaint", It was a background tab in my browser that had woken up and was loud, so ignore that...)
Lol from now on if either Phil or Nick say "I digress" a little Jay should pop up in the corner like the dude in Mortal Kombat 2 with a "Toastyyyy!"
Nice job, Phil.
5:07 it may be Phil on the screen but I swear I heard jay talking 😂
Great job Phil...
He says he doesn't want to turn into Jay. But when watching this video all I could see is Jay Similarities haha. 🤣 great video though! Phil did awesome with the information.
can a 4070 run the heaviest titles at 2k (upscaled) 60fps+ ultra with dlss3 and frame gen (all help available)?
I don't wanna spend up for a 4080 if the above criteria is met, or a 4080 is really required?
If the 2k refers to 1080p and you really use upscaling + frame gen, then yes.
I'm about to buy a new gaming laptop and I'm wondering between 6600m or 3060. I plan to use it for long term, playing game with mods like Skyrim. May I ask for advices on which one I should buy?
Love it thank you
Jay, you are awesome but seeing Nic and Phil a bit more is welcomed. I hope all is well with you Jay. Phil will digress until he becomes PhilzTwoCents.
Great review! Maybe you can do a review of the Alienware m18 ryzen 9 with rtx 4070 😊
I think Jay shrunk a little bit. LOL 🤣
If I engineered a gaming laptop, I'd use the monitor surface area for a giant cooler on the back
btw did Windows do something bloatware/update wise ? my 5900x is pushing fans and getting noizy just with chrome running...
What chair is that and is it any good? Just redid my room and I really like it and think it would look good in it!
PHIL ME UP with this content!
I don't use a laptop, so I want to ask those who do: is the DPI for 1080p on a 15-17" screen that bad? I'm constantly surprised that these necessarily underpowered/throttled laptop GPUs and CPUs try to push 1440p or even 4K.
i'm totaly fine with 1080 on my 17". It is not necessarily to go higher.
It is much better to use as a laptop at 1440p vs 1080p. I wnt from a 1080p 15in screen to a 16in 2560x1600 screen and it's so much nicer to use
I think you're giving the Intel chip a lot of grace here. (As far as I know) it's very rare nowadays that laptops actually lie about battery specifications; meanwhile plenty of Alder+Raptor Lake mobile chips have had downright bad battery life, even with 90 or 99Wh batteries.
Little dude is pretty good at reviews! Thanks for the video!
& Jay I've been watching your channel for a while now, I think since 2013 actually
can you get better performance if you have the laptop plugged into a separate monitor. maybe less heat if the screen is off?
5:08 that moment when you really wished Nvidia brought back M-sku naming like the 900-series and earlier
yall should compare laptops to each other. like the Asus tuf FA507 it also has a 4070 in it but its an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS
Great video, but dd I somehow miss it, which to be fair, is quite possible, or did Phil forget to give us the price?
That right angle adapter tho!! Lol
Locking your frame rate to 45fps on battery also lower your resolution to 900p use dlss or fsr and you'll get 2h battery life on a 84.5wh battery
I want to sport that wallpaper! POST IT! lol
Run the power config battery report in windows and you can get the battery's reported desgin capacity
Couldn't tell it wasn't Jay.
Are you able to review the Asus Z13 Acronym and non acronym version?
Best graphs ever for comparing it to the desktop gpus since Nvidia no longer says 4070m
in this day an age, i think it should start getting talked more that there are battery banks that are small but put out enough power to charge a laptop. THhese are game changers to extending battery life on the go.
How is able to undervate my i7 4070kf quite a bit. Went from a maximum temp on a Cinnabench loop of 90⁰ C down to 78° C. May be a way to squeeze a bit more performance out if your hitting tj max
Battery Specs... elevated command prompt, type powercfg /batteryreport, then press Enter.
No need to elevate
Prescott CPU temperature in software monitoring says hi !😂 More than 100 C° and still running 😂
I purchased the EON17-X from 2021 that had a Desktop CPU which is i7 11700K and Laptop RTX 3080 Max-p GPU.
I would never buy a laptop without a numpad.
And I'm running all my monitors at about 30 % brightness.
Love me some Phil!
*Jay dies in backround* nice to see more of all you guys
AH some higher energy level again. I personally like the high energy as well
MORE STUFF WITH PHIL! or have Phil more involved with you Jay!
The only laptop I’d ever consider is one that doesn’t require nearly complete disassembly to update…
Just wanting to know if I'm weird on this or not, but I typically keep my brightness below 50% at all times. Only times I ever go higher are when are when I'm trying to distinguish pixel levels of details.
Yes that is weird and dumb
random and off topic question here.
will ue5 bring life back into sli, as was reading a artical about how ue5 will support it
wow Jay has shrunk, and seems to be better looking now :P
Look out for the coming Strix Halo APUs from AMD. 20-40 CU RDNA 3.5(80-96MB infinity cache), with 12C--24T/16C-32T. 32-64MB L3 cache. 128-256Bit DDR5 memory controller.
When the video starts. He’s not sitting on a chair. He’s standing on a small ladder.
