  • My buddy Jeff hands me over the keys to his Porsche Cayman S, and what a machine it is. The last time I enjoyed a car this much, was probably when I drove an E46 M3 many many years ago. It has a similar vibe about it.
The last time I drove a Porsche was when I drove Marks Gen 1 Cayman - See Here: • My First Experience In... - Whilst It's a lovely car, I came away feeling a bit underwhelmed. I guess I expected more.
Hope you enjoy the video guys,

Reg, I made the switch from an m140 to a 2.9 Cayman gen 2. It's just as practical, apart from the seats. I can get my golf clubs in the back. Its almost as quick (ive raced an m140), so long as you're not caught out of the power band, I can get 35mpg on a long run. It looks and drives much nicer and is so rewarding. You wouldnt regret it

I love the cayman, but I’m really happy with the 1er. If I had the money to get a weekend car, then a cayman would be nice.

Install a 997 GT3 master cylinder and you'll be liking the pedal feel 👍😎. I got a 2010 Cayman S in October of 2009 and have done a few performance modifications (personalized) to it and don't see me ever turning it loose.

I own a Cayman 2.9 and had a 2 hours extended drive in a 981 CAYMAN S, I wasn’t impressed as it was marginally more powerful mainly in the lower revs. Brilliant car but I was baffled how close my base Cayman 2.9 was to 981 S, it’s an upgrade but not worth the premium if you don’t have the budget as the base car is very close and capable performer.

Recently got a Porsche in our family and the handling blew me away. Had no clue cars could handle this well.

Miss my 987.2 Boxster with roof down and valves open on the PSE lovely sounds. You have to bear in mind there no particulate filter so you get good sound and boxer 6 gives you left right rhythm to the engine. PASM, Sport Chrono & PDK for the track wouldn’t bother with them if it’s just for the road…

I totaled my 987.1S and started hunting for a 911. One day I saw a 987.2S in manual pop up on the market in my desired spec - I didn't think for a second. It's one of those romanticized ride qualities that escapes even the 911ns, which became grand touring boats for all that I see. First of all - nice review, the owner first sounds apologetic, but possibly because "he knows what he has". Now that I have more money it all begs a question - would I upgrade? I realized that potentially there are two cars that I would buy in place of the 987.2S in manual, and it needs 3X the price of this car to make sense!! For 120k USD you get into the 997.1 GT3 category or a 718 Spyder or GT4. That's 3 times the money for 1.5 times the experience. And spending twice the amount on a 991 makes zero sense. There really is no substitute for this particular thing, as someone said - it's a jet ski for the road (and a luxurious one let me add). It's also really beautiful, especially when you drop it on a nice suspension and give it a nice wheel. Very special.

Got an eye on these caymans. Ive decided to save up several more months and get the newer 981 shape cayman than start looking for the 987 shape cayman now 🤔.
Just a few days ago in my hospital job a guy drove in his 2022 718 cayman to drop off his mum. I said to him one day ill hopefully get the 981 cayman with him saying your in a good place and job you will 😊

Bigger brake master cylinder fixes the crap brake pedal. It's not an expensive part and fitting isn't too bad either. But make sure you use a good indy who will bleed the system properly.
