Most honest review of the 2021 Himalayan yet. It would be a very minimal cost to open the bore to 500cc giving it just that little bit of power for long open highways vs the real solution of a 6 speed. The green is like the other desert sand RE has offered on another bike. I like it. Rear rack didn't get any reinforcement - just a cosmetic change. A 12v socket and battery tender plug would only cost the factory a minuscule amount when applied to thousands of bikes. True adventure riders are often in locations with no cell service so navigation dependent on cell service is a questionable choice compared to an individual adding their own Garmin or Magellan GPS nav unit. Add a really good vibration resistant cell phone holder then the buyer can decide what app to use or not. There are a hundred reasons costs increase from company insurances to wages to transport but its hard for the retail customer to justify without real visible benefits.
How brilliant is this review. I own the very first variant of the Himalayan. The Carburetor/dinosaur version. I can so relate to everything he (my apologies for not knowing your name but you define bike reviews for Zigwheels) is saying. Crappy cosmetic changes don't qualify for an update. This merely means, RE gives a crap about what we need vs how they can make 10k per bike more. Kudos to this review. Best one so far from Zigwheels so far.
Why is he not presenting more often? He should be replacing the other guys. Not Karthikeya though, he's the best! Also, a show down between the two would be awesome though!
There was a time when PD was a gold standard in reviewing bikes and cars..seems like Zigwheels has taken that crown. Pitch perfect and no nonsense reviews. Zaran the young lad, just nailed it..
PD is a joke. Auto car is an oldies paradise. Always Cyrus, Renuka Hormuz and Shapur. They don’t really connect as an automobile lover to us true nuts. Whereas Saran and Karthikeyan are killing it.
To the point.. no nonsense content... great work. Thank you for keeping things simple and sticking to the core objective in mind..ie; focus on the 2021update (the elephant in the room) and not spending time to capture cinematic shots with dramatic background.. time to bring things back to basics and focus on the review than worrying too much on storytelling and presentation.
Medimix green , gesture by Rebut not a value but a routine bug fixing , man I love the simplistic yet elegant language. you have taken reviews to is truest level with just the info a person would like to hear about a bike. moreover, a genuine feedback of a product. Keep it up Zaran
Himalayan is my favourite bike but the pricing is not acceptable. They should bring real updates to justify the price rather than fake updates. 5:13 RE should learn from Hero. Best review! Zaran👌👏
People at RE are making fool out of its potential buyers for Himalayan. The review is spot on and once again an opportunity missed by RE to make any significant changes to the motorcycle.
Very well you hav portrayed the truth.... What himalayan really needs is more horse power atleast 35hp , loosing some weight and a much powerful led headlight, we can certainly do without tripper navigation one more reason being, Google maps will still be used more often then re integrated app maps, we wish RE would consider our suggestions... If RE takes that road... The Himalayan will be unbeatable. I genuinely hope RE is listening to this Re, common guys u guys need to hear this out #Royalenfield #himalayan
What I personally feel is the marketing gimmick & a reason to hike the prices which all the manufacturers in India are good at it. Your review absolutely nailed it! By far the only review which did not go gaga about that stupid tripper meter which any damn phone could do. Don't know why RE shying away from LED & Himalayan especially did not require any update, the older stuff was good enough. Like the way you see, put stuff, kudos team.
The review was quite to the point. But Himalayan still remains the most versatile bike for its price range. I would just like RE to come out with a 650twin engine version of Himalayan.
Spot ON!!! Lovely video especially if you see how RE has upgraded Himalayan from an enthusiasts point of view. Green color looks handsome in shades or in dark else it's very bright in daylight.
A very Honest Proposition...The Xpulse is obviously a better option any day for the Adv starters as par as the humongous price tag of the RE is concerned, along with the added weight disadvantage. Very well laid out video... definitely will help all,if the trust is alive...Thank You Guys for a very Unbaised review...Kudos
So...now this is a kind of review I was expecting when I first saw new Himalayan, I own bs6 2020 model. I completely agree with you, RE never did any update on Himalayan...it’s just cosmetic changes that’s also unwanted. It’s look exactly same s bs3 version.
Hi, When every one else its going gaga over the Himalayan your video surely put a different perspective and very to the point. Tripper navigation to me is cosmetic addition for increasing the sales than a real value addition. Yes loosing weight is more important for Himalayan or all RE products for that matter. Unfortunately it is like ruling party with devastating majority RE doesn't have any competition at this price point, delivery period is 4 to 5 months! So RE guys won't bother to do a real upgrade in mechanicals like Meteor. Addition of few horses and six cog would be the ideal upgrade. A wonderful video.
AFAIK the seat was one of the things a lot of long time riders said is uncomfortable on longer rides. E.g. Itchy Boots and RE even has/had a firmer touring seat for it. Nice to see it included by default now.
Unbiased, straight rider perspective reviews. Hopefully you are never told to change your review style because you might piss off some touchy company executives.
That's the problem man! Its still selling like hot cake even after the foolish cosmetic update. The fact of the matter is that its still the only true hot cake in the town!
Probably the most honest and appropriate review one can watch.....well done...keep up....it will help sleeping 'giant' (??) wake up...some time...sooner.... :))
Absolutely nailed it !! Review says it all.. no improvements in terms of weight, handlebar, power is certainly a let down. Anyways this bike will continue to have lot many buyers!
I like it ... in as much as the minor changes with a cheeky price rise and no option to buy the early 21 bikes means my bike has not lost any great value. The recipe works and I’m please RE have not spoilt it. Good video, thanks for posting.
This was the first time I watched review on zigwheels and I can tell it was the best . Just becoz of his honest review and good content I subscribed it . Keep up the good work guy's 🤘
Absolutely true day by day RE has been increasing the prices but providing the same bikes and for what they are offering they are get too expensive . Like the classic it self now costs over 2.05 lakhs on road that too with all those imperfections . I think they have to focus on improving the products before they hike the prices ..
Most honest and genuine review that I witness in the recent times... Crisp.. upto the point .. no cringe elements ... I wish RE team takes these concerns seriously
True !!! Xpulse is any day value for money over Himalayan. Not worthy updates on the Himalayan. If they really want to update the bike they should have reduced the weight a bit and increased the engine power
The Royal Enfield Himalayan was always been a great choice in the entry level ADV touring segment. Its one of those bike which has a perfect balance between touring and off road capability. Still the updates on this 2021 models is good but not great. Yes Royal Enfield should have been given essentials updates like LED lighting, More performance and refinement to the engine and decreased little bit weight, and if they had did that then the price hike could have been justifiable. Its not value for money compared to it predecessor but its cheaper compared to KTM, BMW.
Glad to take the BS6 version just before Christmas. Happy that I was not forced to take 21 version. The gauge of the front frame and rear frame has been little bit on higher side. Don't know how it will impact. Another change I observed is the area above the rear tyre has been modified to change the way of dirt direction while driving in water surfaces. RE guys do listen to the customers but they implement it very late. They made the brake cylinder guard available on their accesories page for 800 which might cost from 1000 to 2000 outside. Yes engine side must have an upgrade. Tip for new owners: Check for rust in crucial welded parts. Due to bad supply chain, the body might stay in the factory for long. As a result some parts might be rusted even before they arrive to the showrooms. Tip for Himalayan owners who haven't completed 1st service yet: Ask the service guys to lube crucial junctions in the bike. After 2k km, my bike gave cranky sounds everytime I rode it.
I think that the navigation system should be an accesory and not something that comes with the bike. It is even useless if you already have a gps system such a garmin or similar, or if you prefer to use your phone instead. Im kind of dissapointed with this new update, to me, these new features do not justify the increase in price. It has made the bike less competitive in my opinion.
Excellent review covered all negatives of RE Himalayan to the point. 2021 RE Himalayan is definitely not worth buying. Engine refinement should be upgraded with more Bhp and torque along with light weight.
True. Himalayan no longer has VFM proposition it once had. And while other manufacturers are making faster, powerful and lighter bikes. RE is adding more weight.
I think a better option wud hve been to offer the tripper as an accessory. Cus fr me, a handlebar mount and navigation on my mobile is smething that cant be matched by the turn by turn navigation. And i dnt need bluetooth n all on a motorcycle. So thats basicly not of much practical use fr people like me. Also, optional alloys on the himalayan fr people who wnt this machine fr mostly highway touring. I wud buy this then in an instant. Cus tubed tyres are a bummer. Unreliable. And there must be many like me who love the adv design but dnt use it fr that purpose. And only want to counter the bad roads with that suspension.

I was planning on buying one, but if the GPS is standard, I'm lookin for a 2020. One reason I ride is because bikes are simpler and not laden with electronic junk and tracking devices. That to me kills some of the joy.
Superb review!! Medimix Green 😁 RE needs to be careful with their pricing, they seem to ignore the fact that other companies are actively trying to provide better equipped bikes for so much less.
RE trying to fool its customers by hiking its price and adding no great extra features.. Well done @Zigwheels for such a honest review.. Eagerly waiting for RE classic updated version..hope its gona be good
Zigwheels is really upping it's game. From being the bottom of the pile, kartik has pulled them up to the point that I prefer a lot of their content over overdrive and Autocar. Pity Autocar is now only a marketing brochure for manufacturers and thus not trust worthy
No other reviewer has spoken about the limitations of the tripper so far. You have covered it well and I totally agree with it!
Now this is an authentic review that consumers need. Huge thumbs up. 👍
'Medimix Green' LOL! Another well presented review from our young buck Zaran.

This guy can really review easy to understand and no more drama and music just simple sweet review by the way always been enjoying zigwheels
The first real genuine feedback about this so called upgrade, hope RE is listening
Perfectly explained all about 2021 updates. Its only cosmetic, nothing changed from inside.
Exactly the same feeling I had!! That ugly looking visor, forcefully fitted tripper, unreasonable price hike!! Utterly useless.
Definitely.
Same here bro. That visor design is unacceptable

I definitely agree. If RE can manage some more power in the motor, with a nominal price bump, Himalayan will sell like hot cakes.
That's the problem man! Its still selling like hot cake even after the foolish cosmetic update. The fact of the matter is that its still the only true hot cake in the town!
