I loved this tutorial, very clear... this will save lots of dollars on new XC skate ski poles which are $200 in the shops.

How strong is the bonding between the two different tubes? Will the bond be as strong as rest of the tube? When dobble poling in XC skiing there will be a lot of power going down, do you think they will give after? :)

With the correct adhesive and proper preparation of the surfaces, the bond line will be stronger than the actual laminate. In the case you are mentioning, the force applied by double poling, you are experiencing a shearing force. The adhesive used in the video has about 4300 psi shear strength. With approximately 5.2 square inches of bond surface, it would take an extreme amount of force to break the bond. The biggest concern with this pole setup, as with any pole, is the flex strength and how far will it flex before it fails. We can say that with several users and lots of skiing, these poles are working great and everybody that uses them, loves using them.

Our tubes are all made with special machinery, so we don't have a tutorial on how to make your own tubes. But it sounds like a great video idea for the future.

Great tutorial! Where can I get the vinyl sticker? Is it just a standard decal?

You can get vinyl stickers printed and sent to you from online service providers. Just search "online vinyl stickers" and you will get a whole world of options. I used stickerapp.com/materials/vinyl-stickers for these stickers.

Just visited the website to see how much the tubes cost...
The minimum quantity you can buy is 200 for some reason, which comes to a total of well over $10,000 for just the tubes! I hope this is just an error...

On a select # of products, we have an MOQ set to 200pcs as those products we procure generally from overseas rather than make them ourselves. They are often denoted with a "-DL" suffix on their SKU number. If you search however the first 5 digits of that same SKU (example: 45558 instead of 45558-DL) you will find the version of that tube that we build and is available in qty of 1.

What cerakote product did you use?

For this application we used Cerakote MC-156. It doesn't require a catalyst or oven cure, so it can be applied to materials that can't go in the oven. Plus, it's super simple to use and can be applied with a lint free rag or sprayed on with an airbrush or spray gun.
