Your videos are simple to follow. Your routine for addressing 'AC not working' is exceptional. Thank you for providing a DIY tool. Now, correct me if I am wrong please. 1. Go outside and vacuum the AC Drain pipe (3/4" PVC) 2. Observe the AC unit, drain any water from the overflow pan. 3. Unclog/clean the PVC/P-Trap extending from the AC unit. 4. Observe and correct remaining length of PVC (if necessary) 5. Observe drip outside. 6. Vacuum the drain pipe once more. 7. Check for cool, flowing/dripping water. I have no idea why I listed those steps. I do have a question or two. Do you like the Easy Trap? How often do you find a faulty overflow pan switch? How much water might an AC unit discharge during a normal day of operation? How often should a homeowner check for proper AC water discharge? And lastly, thank you for keeping us cool.
Using a Vacuum unit to clean out those Drain Pipes is Great! I was Vacuum Repair guy for many years. If the pipe is plugged, don't let the Vacuum run to long, as the Air going though the Vacuum Motor, is what Cools the Motor. So if you would not let the air though, you could run the risk of burning out your Vacuum Motor. And some motors are very pricey!!
Water leaks are easily HALF of our calls during the dead heat of the summer - the other half are rental properties with the renter complaining of a high electric bill or that the thermostat doesn't get down to 65° when it's 100° outside in their 60's 70's house.
I just cut the primary, attach my 6 foot jumper hose I fabricated with 3/4 female pvc couplings on each end. One end attach on the primary going out, the other end clamped in the pan. Then just go outside and run the vac until the pan is empty. Saves a lot of hassle and mess... and you’re flushing the primary at the same time.
My cousin taught me that once you pet the homeowners dog you can’t get any work done because he won’t leave you alone, if you ignore him they will eventually go away.
It's called a "diyvac" You can order that online at Amazon or Ebay. You might be able to find similar products locally though at your nearest home improvement store.
I’ve been fighting drain issues all week as well! I just ordered the diyvac attachment from amazon. Keep up the good fight and great videos you put out Ted!
FoamBrite made by NuCalgon ..... strongest cleaner you will ever use !! www.ebay.com/itm/Nu-Calgon-4178-08-Foam-Brite-Coil-Cleaner-1-Gal/232655641868?epid=1210179317&hash=item362b5b5d0c:g:5MUAAOSw5KtaeIRV:rk:2:pf:0
bah drain enough that the float makes, fix the HVAC issue and leave the rest in the pan ( summer time only) the rest will evaporate just fine without damaging the attic/home. if it;s winter and heatpump clear the pan.... (very rare it would do that, stuck in A/C mode reverse valve )
Water running up the pipe reminds me of the "Moonshiners" Still, they put a small stick in the end of the pipe or a raccoon penis when filling there jars of shine. Just saying~~!!

Need someone knowledgeable like you in my area. Exceptional video.

There only pricey if you get them from the most expensive place
I always like to pull the cover off the coil cabinet and pour like a gallon of water through it just to double check and verify that it's clean

Not trying to question you but why didn't you use your vac to drain the pan? Seems like it would have been much easier?
Probably because the VAC has not enough capacity to take all the water.
@@DannyBokma I understand that but I was only thinking that taking a 5 gal bucket along with the vac would be only one trip to me but to each his own!

Ted you gonna have to rename your company “Ted Cook Condensate Service” good job man.
I'm sure you have a reason as you are quite methodical like myself but why not use a hose adapter and flush the drain pipes out with a garden hose?
Could it be where the unit is located? I am in California and have gotten very few drain calls?
give it the old gundy mama

Yo lavimoniere...shes a leaker 👍
I think I would use merv 6 or 8 filter. that may be a merv 11 in there.
LOVE the house tour..Dog and all. Your video's are the best. I've learned so much from you.. *Did you fix their issue?*
My cousin taught me that once you pet the homeowners dog you can’t get any work done because he won’t leave you alone, if you ignore him they will eventually go away.
Still waiting for ted to say ‘this ain’t no Taj Mahal” lol
Did you make the green and clear plastic tubing that you are using for outside suction? or where can one get that?

Why wouldn't remove short trap and install 'P' trap with vent 6" away. With constant issues I would have.
That’s crazy! The handler in the attic
All large brick homes come with a small barking Yorkie or Terrier!
Where did you get that adapter for your shop vac to 3/4 pipe?
I’ve been fighting drain issues all week as well! I just ordered the diyvac attachment from amazon. Keep up the good fight and great videos you put out Ted!
Seems a 45 on end of pipe would be better.
Good Job Ted
What is "yellow death"? (Clorox?)

It's called a Diyvac, can be purchased on Amazon. The mini vac can be purchased at Amazon or Home Depot
Well....did it work long term?

Only 1 out of 3 possible drains actually plumbed. Pretty loose construction standards.
