1:53, that's brackd. kennett sold the stuff to freight victoria in may 1999. bracks was elected in september 1999. in 2003 freight australia was bitching to the labor government because it wanted a monopoly. the labor government wanted to buy the freight business back. unfortunately it was onsold to pacific national so they could have a monopoly.

Exactly my thoughts, Bracks had nothing to do with ruining the public transport system.

Bracks government wanted to convert the freight network from broad to standard gauge. FA were opposed to this.

Braksy wanted to reinstate the Mildura passenger service but Freight Victoria dragged their feet and thumbed their noses. The whole line needed renovating, which was mostly done with the gauge conversion works. I hope the Mildura service can be reinstated.

Pacific National doesn’t control the track in any state. Either ARTC or VLine and the other state governments except SA which is ARTC & Aurizon & NT which is now leased to Aurizon. Sadly the crazy rush to privatise rail in Victoria almost caused the total demise of the regional network ( like SA) so the Victorian government had to buy it back

Not bad, but i remember Freight Vic as the ones buying the western star track truck. I last saw it at the Newport open day though.
