UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ruclips.net/user/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.
Wow I found this same one, mine looks even worse than yours hahah. Wish I watched this before I took the piston seals out haha, figured I'd just find a kit online but here I am
Hopefully the silicone paste works better for you. I ultimately had to replace the pump due to an internal failure(video posted after this one). Only lasted a couple hours...
In my experience people can't get the engines started so get rid of the whole machine. This past weekend I got 2 craftsman pressure washers at Lowes for $25 each being sold as customer returns for parts only. They look almost brand new. Turned out to be stale gas and undergapped spark plugs. No one at Lowes even bothered to check the machines, they just accepted the return no questions asked.
Great video, I have a ryobi pressure washer that I've had for 4 years and I've tried to take real good care of it... After every use I have ran rv antifreeze through the pump and cycled the unloader to get all the water out. I need to change the pump oil next. It's a shame there is no repair kit for these, New pressure washers look like they use such similar pumps as past units, but they are all pretty much designed to be unserviceable anyways it seems, buy a new $200 pump, or a new pressure washer..... Yay.
i bought one just like yours a few weeks ago. same frame and pump , but different engine . i paid $40 but mine had the gun and hose . yours must be older as mine has a OHV engine that according to the date was made in 99. like many of these a easy carb cleaning brought it back to life. the carb was terribly varnished. After cleaning it, it started right up and runs great. pump works good ,but has a sticky unloader . its seems to be loosening with use though. changing this type of unloader is a pain. i use it mainly for washing my car and driveway. after watching your vid i might try changing the oil in the pump. if this pump goes bad i will slap on a higher pressure one.
+Whyme123 You got a better deal than I did! I ultimately had to replace the pump myself. I think it was worth it to do so, and then gave this one to my father since I found another one I also repaired and liked better. Thanks for watching!
Briggs and Stratton claim the pump oil never needs replacing. Only seals go bad. They recommend to replace the pump. They don’t use quality pumps so having to replace the pump after 8-10 years is normal.
Great video. I don't know how old it is. I have the exact same pump on my craftsman. Mine is leaking water underneath at the split line. I would like to know if you did a video on your carburetor rebuild. My prime bulb doesn't seem to work, making it very hard to start after sitting all winter.
You are correct, I did not. Guess I got lucky for a brief and shining moment until the seals failed again. There is a follow up video of the replacement. Thanks for watching!
I would kill or pay to have you make another video showing the carburetor linkage. I got one of these much the way you did and it is all taken apart and probably missing pieces. But seeing how it all goes together would really help. Thanks for the video. It's a huge help.
I have same unit do you have part number for the replacement wand you bought the one that comes with it doesn’t have quick release nozzles it’s fixed and you can change the tips out
JungleKing I have the same unit as pictured a Craftsman model 580.768210 5.5 h/p 2000 PSI, bought new. Problem was I took apart carb without pictures. Only saw two linkages to carb, one from bolt holding RPM adjusting lever on intake side with spring and governor link connecting to governor lever off motor. The other from throttle shaft on carburetor to same governor lever off motor Problem I think is on Control Bracket the adjusting knob for Stop-Slow-Fast-Choke, connects to nothing. It onle has the knob touching a metal wire fore the kill switch. I read all comments and know you gave that unit to your father in law. Was wondering if you could verify for me there is only the two linkages, it doesn't make sense to me the control knob slider does not connect to anything but the kill switch, thanks in advance! By the way I have the manual and it shows no other parts then mentioned here.
Hi, I have a Troy-Bilt Pressure Washer, used it about 3-years, then let it sit for a couple of years, it starts but the pump won't put out any water. Any ideas if the pump is jammed or blocked and what I should do? Thanks.
lets say the chem injector port threads were stripped and i didnt know but tried to install the valve and it isnt secure in there, what could i do? rethread with tap and die or...?
Probably, but if the threads are gone, it is just a larger hole now and the original valve won't fit anymore. I'd find a plug and tap combo and seal off that port so you can at least use the pressure washer without it.
@@jungleking007Channel i found a size up reducer so i can thread that into the port after tapping and then thread the original into the reducer threads, ill try that out
@@jungleking007Channel So i did this and didnt realize that when i made the hole bigger the angle was slightly off and it didnt seat right so water leaks out, gonna just seal it up
Unloader valve is usually threaded onto the housing. I did not remove it during this repair but the unloader valve I think is the large brass piece on the left side of the pump housing in my thumbnail. If you can find one it's a simple fix, but it may be necessary to just replace the whole pump. Older units are either not supported anymore or sadly part cost far exceeds amount to warrant repairing.
I have a Pro Force that runs fine but when I turn on the water, it fills up the soap tank, shoots out of the cap, eventually dislodging the cap. When I pull the wand trigger, a little water comes out but not enough. I'm guessing the pump must be plugged somewhere. Any ideas?
I'd check the nipple where there soap hose connects to the pump. They cal them chemical injector kits, it has a new nipple, spring and ball bearing. This prevents the water from flowing through that hose.

Great instructional video! Just a quick question about the oil you put in. My pump calls for non-detergent oil. Did your instructions call for gear oil specifically or is gear oil an OK substitute? Happy wrenching! Thanks.
I didn't have any instructions for the pump that called out an oil spec, so I went with an oil I thought would work. Because this pump deals with water I figured a marine grade gear oil would be a decent substitute. Thanks for watching!
@@jungleking007Channel marine grade gear oil is made so that it will still lubricate when it has water in it (up to a point) I was thinking about that a I watched you getting ready to fill it up and saw that you had a tube of Mercruiser gear oil
